Miitopia - A GREAT Way to Farm EXP Late/Post Game Using a Simple Glitch!

In this video, I will be showing you how to grind EXP late/post game in the Otherworld using the highlight glitch.

Some stuff I found while doing the glitch:
This glitch works for bosses that let you walk for a bit before the fight. (I've tested Traveler's Hub, I'll see if it works for New Lumos too, however I don't think you can receive the Travelers Hub quest prize)
There is an indicator for whenever the glitch worked or not.
If you have to exit out of highlights twice (example at 0:46), that means the glitch worked and the next battle can be skipped.
If you are having trouble doing the glitch, just spam +/START after the black screen at 0:43 (after the battle initiating scene)
Also, don't try to skip 2 battles as the 2nd time you open highlights you will enter a fight that you will have to beat. If you run/lose, the next encounter will result in an automatic loss unless there is no encounter after the fight you ran from/lost.
More stuff I found: You do not receive the reward from a Traveler's Hub Quest if you skip the boss. This is most likely because it skips the cutscene where the reward is given to you.
It also works on New Lumos bosses, however I'm still checking if it unlocks the Tower of Dread since the spot where the boss fight happens doesn't disappear, most likely because the game checks if you've defeated the boss or not.
(I found out that the Tower of Dread will not open until you beat one of the bosses after doing the glitch on all of the New Lumos bosses.. I beat the Dark Sage boss after doing the glitch on all of the bosses)
Also in some cases, no reward (food, gold, exp) is given to you after the glitch. (This does not include the EXP snurp hunt spot)
Also if you try to do it on a spot where you instantly fight a monster (e.g: snurps), you still fight the monster and then your game crashes.
Cool
This glitch is actually so useful, the snurps just leaving is annoying as hell.

EDIT: With this and the boss skip use of the highlight glitch, I was FINALLY able to get elf with a level 34 team, yay.
I got elf with level 28 team no skips, it was brutal lol

Hello everyone, I have good and bad news regarding this usage of the highlight glitch.
Good news is that as of August 6th 2024, this glitch has NOT been patched yet.
Bad news is the amount of EXP fluctuates a LOT. You receive a random amount each time, with 2k being the lowest and 64k being the highest.
P.S: I apologize for saying it gives out tens of thousands of EXP at 0:15, because after doing more “data sampling”, I realized it was false.

It's because the fight is sometimes not rare snurps at all.
I got 1059 xp after doing my first run of the glitch so the lowest isn't 2k its still a good glitch because you don't have to do the vampire cheese and level up only one because you don't fight the snurps anyway
I found another thing im doing the glitch and it seems to be alterneting from giving me 1059 xp and 16000 xp i don't know why
How do I get the timing right time to exit the cutscenes?
Try spamming plus at 0:44 when the screen turns dark, and make sure your game isn’t sped up.
IT WORKS! But just an info don’t battle at the beginning when using the glitch because it will repeat the process… so you must battleskip at the end before reaching the inn.

This works pretty well, you can’t guarantee the 60k tho since getting the rarerest snurps doesn’t always happen. I had a quicker time just repeating the second-to-last level of the post game island for around 30-40k/playthrough. It‘s slower but more consistent.
what is the "post-game island"?
The post game island is Galados Isle.

Okay so, I tried it and: 1. I couldn’t find this particular use of the glitch anywhere on the wiki or any other Miitopia places, so, I think you legit discovered a new use of the The Highlight Glitch, and 2. This is super helpful, but also gets really broken fast if you use it a ton- I used it a bunch obviously to grind, but then when I went to battle the rest of the cutscene played, then the fight, and then everything went back to normal- so, uh, congrats on discovering this I guess!

This glitch is Awesome! JUST BE CAREFUL. I did it wrong one time and my game started to glitch out a bit.
Whenever I’d try and use the fast-forward button, the game would start freaking out and the game wouldn’t move any faster than usual. Even out of battle it wouldn’t let me. Plus it went over to my other save data on different accounts on my switch!
However, I turned off my switches power and everything seems to be back to normal. Very glad I didn’t have to reset my data. Just be careful if you are going to use this glitch 😉👍

i can't tell if you have to speed up the highlight to trigger it or you can just play it a normal speed.
Speed doesn’t matter. All you have to do to trigger the glitch is to leave the highlight at the right time.

How do you get there
You have to complete a majority of the story; it takes around 6-9 hours to reach.

You could, but it’s best if you perform the glitch once, then save and quit then re-enter the game when you reach the inn shortly afterwards. If you don’t, the game may crash or soft lock on you.

It is just luck, sometimes it gives you that, but sometimes, as the max exp you can get, you can get 64000
i think it's patched cuz i only got 1000-4000 xp or less :(
Does anyone know if this works on 3ds
there is another glitch i found out while doing this if you have a vampire and a rare snurp hits them and curse happens it kills the snurp
Help, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I spam and sometimes I get 62000-64000ish, but sometimes I just got 960
That’s one of the couple downsides to this glitch unfortunately. There’s too much EXP fluctuation and rng.

Are you activating the glitch RIGHT before the rare snurp fight?
You can also try spamming the plus button during the white screen after the mii’s faces get put on monsters.

Is there a safe and easy way to get rid of the glitch if it happens? And do you have to go into an Inn or can you just leave the level after activating the glitch?
Yuh once you reach the Inn, just save and quit, then reload back into the game. The glitch will then be cancelled.
The timing doesnt matter i tried it hought i was early before the real fight but it skipped! (3ds version) and i got 62000 exp O_O

It can be used pretty much anywhere, but you should only use it when grinding exp and skipping bosses

Yeah, but the big exp happens randomly. So I'd just keep going until it turns up.

Not really. This is probably the only non-boss level that’s worth using this glitch on.

You’ll have to play through almost the entire story (around six hours). The farming spot is right before the final boss.
Guys, if you go to battles after the very rare snurp fight, you can do the fight again, although do be wary as you do not wanna look at the battle in the battle history because IT WILL CRASH YOUR GAME

So are there any dire consequences, or is it just a simple game crash? A crash alone is nothing. Laughable, even. However a glitch that causes irreversible damage to your entire *save file* and forces you to *delete it* is far worse. I've seen glitches in the past that actually do that.

Try spamming dat + button at 0:44 when the white screen appears. It should work.
If you're like me (AKA nervous if the glitch worked or not), there's a tell that the glitch worked as soon as you try to back out of the highlights menu. When you go to leave the menu, the game should flash white, but send you to the screen you tried to back out of.
You can actually see it at 0:46
Note: If you struggle with the timing on the cutscene, you can just mash +, but ONLY when the screen turns white

I did this glitch, and it only gave me 1004 exp, and also, here are some game crashes that I found.
If you active this glitch at the final battle fighting darker lord, the game freezes, and it will crash out of the game.

Yes, your luck was low. That’s one of if the only annoyance that can come with this broken af glitch.
Sometimes it’s 64,000, and sometimes it’s only like 2000. It fluctuates a LOT.
