My friends were employed or contracted to work at Fntastic and, judging by their comments, it's not looking good. Team is small and is horribly understaffed, the work athmosphere is kind of toxic - numerous crunches and/or overtime, dubious work ethics (one of my friends told that he could get phonecalls in the middle of the night related to his work). A lot of my friends are employed by MyTona (publisher for the Prop Night) and none of them were convinced that the game would be released or at least deliver the quality Fntastic was promising in trailers

I dont believe this is prerendered at all, this could be tossed together in unreal or whatever incredibly quickly. Its literally just a basic 3rd person controller with 2 gun and a few areas where you hold f to play an animation and spawn an item into your inventory. This kind of thing can be tossed together in a few days by a solo dev. I do believe this is proper gameplay, but i dont believe anything in the video proves that is an mmo, that it has any scale beyond the 2 or 3 roads we've seen, that the gun play is any good, that there are any more items than theyve shown or that any of this will be in the final product. Even what we've seen of the multiplayer is likely just unreals default networking for 2 players and not secure or feasible for any pvp.

They probably just have the muzzle flash happen every x milliseconds instead of when the gun fires (its easier) and either the enemies have giant hitboxes or they have some sort of aim assist. Prerendered means this is all just a single big animation which is possible, but honestly for what theyve shown it sounds like it would be easier to just actually put these "gameplay trailers" together seeing how barebones they looked. Its the same idea of all these crypto games showing off a "gameplay trailer" thats just a few asset packs, except this trailer has an art team and production value. My guess is the game wont be ready for years. I wouldnt call it a scam yet because they havent taken peoples money, but if they do start taking preorders and havent proved they actually have something to sell it will almost certainly be a scam
Takes me back to the days of Sandswept Studios and The Dead Linger, another zombie game that promised a tonne, barely delivered (though they at least had a rough playable build), then failed, ran out of funding, cancelled development, removed all trace of the game from their website. The icing on the cake being that they claimed to have learned from their mistakes, poured their effort into a new, much smaller-scope game called Unfortunate Spacemen, and gave all backers of Dead Linger a 25% discount code for their new title.
I mean technically this isn’t a scam, since there is no financial incentive. It’s extremely weird in that they have zero reason (other than publicity) to make a fake game. They aren’t getting any money out of this, there are no pre-orders or anything like that. Strange.
they might of not made it possible to buy it before its out to lessen the claims about it being a scam, but i think when it does come out, therell be a launcher where you actually download the game, which would bloat up your playtime, making you go over the 2 hour limit and not being able to refund the game. or itll go the ubisoft route and downgrade everything to hell
That footage at the start of the off-roaders isn't even their game, I can 100% confirm because I have over 2000 hours on it and it's existed since 2020. Its also a modded version, so there's even more stolen content. Nice! It's called Snowrunner, and its absolutely worth your money if you consider purchasing.
The most shocking thing in this video to me is the comparison at the end saying back for blood flopped harder than velma. That must have been a straight dive off of a steep, high cliff if it trumped the dumpsterfire that is velma.

I bought dead dozen back when it was available, and I clearly remember the main mode being a mix of tomb raider style level design and L4D style combat and collectibles. The game to my knowledge was really tough to beat and it was already dead when I got it, but it was still working at the time. These days I see reviews saying the game won't even start anymore.
Just here to defend DayZ and say they did an impressive job for the last 5 years and the game is amazing and polished now, completely different from the trashy buggy (but funny ngl) game it was in its early days
It's still buggy and missing content. Bows? Where are they? Helicopters? No functional anticheat, vehicles are still borked, and what do they do? They add CLOWN MASKS. 15 euro for a single map with the same copypasted buildings.
this is why I support stuff like The Anacrusis. While back 4 blood went on with a $60 price tag, dlc expansions, generic post apocalyptic setting, and no mod support while the anacrusis has a $30 price tag, 60's sci-fi setting, no dlc since it's early access, and full mod support.
