Skiing One Of The Longest Ski Runs In The World - Hochjoch Totale
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- Hochjoch Totale is a ski run from the top of Hochjoch in Silvretta Montafon all the way to the valley to Schruns. It passes through the longest ski tunnel in the world, some mixed terrain, all the way from blue to black!
Check me out skiing with a pair of GS skis from top to bottom in one fairly mellow uninterrupted run - leg burner! Last run of the day on early season, well packed snow with icy patches. The average speed in the skiing sections is about 70 km/h according to the GoPro telemetry data.

Snowboards > skis
I've been snowboarding for 18 years and this video make me want to take skiing lessons.
No matter the shape or size, they are all skis-
Or indeed, all snowboards.
Just don’t get us started on The Riders’ Front of Judea (regular) versus Judean Riders’ Front (goofy) [or maybe it’s vice-versa] 😁
I have seen many skiers who skate well and have not seen skiers sitting well on the slope. I have seen a lot of snowboarders who sit well on the slope and have not seen snowboarders who ride well.
@@TomTomLo1 Of course, dude, go for it. you will love it.
Congrats to you on getting to experience such a beautiful opportunity in life and thank you for sharing. Allowing those of us who won’t get to ski this do it vicariously through you 🤘
Very happy to hear! Hopefully you get to ski soon as well!
It is called a road decent super boring

One of the most satisfying skiing videos on all of UA-cam! Great job from the skiier an the camera operator. I hope you're planning on making more videos like this one?
Wow, thank you! Yes, that is for sure the plan, just waiting for the snow now.
It didn't even mind the Muzak 😀
first i thought its kinda like a drone following him,
later on i catched myself thinking its me chasing him! :)
Yes Its enough to watch it - it feels like being there...
Gebe It‘s J 100% recht bitte mehr davon
I haven't been snow skiing in over 30 years. Thanks for bringing back some beautiful memories. 🙏
Get your gear then and go skiing :D
I've not been for over 40 years and my first and last time was such a bad experience it put me off it for life, so my skiing is now restricted to watching skiing videos on You Tube.
3:58 that shot is so god damn sick
What a joy it was to be taken on this little ride down the slopes. Your friend in green is a great skiier. His turns were mesmerizing to watch!
It’s trails like this that I wish someday I can do. It’s absolutely stunning and I really hope that I have the possibility of doing this trail someday. If the option ever comes up I will do everything necessary to make it come true. This is amazing and the music and filming is satisfying and amazing!
I life there so if u want come here😌
I did another post earlier. Just want to say thanks. Spinal stenosis and a stroke took me off skis (after 40+years and being a ski instructor) in 2016. That truly gave me the sensation of being on skis again and carving nice arcs. And chapeau to the girl holding the camera. Outstanding videography!
Very glad to hear this could give you that sensation! Many thanks!
Takes me back. I learned to ski in Schruns in the 80s. That was before the ski tunnel, so we used to lap from Sennigrat to the valley when there was snow in the valley. So much fun. Now I really want to go back and see how much it's changed.
The Sennigrat is still the most beautifull piste of the mountain. So much fun.
@@merkuti6549 Sennigrat with sharp edges...that's like flying
Props to the incredible CameraGIRL :D
Pov is everything. Beautiful
That was a blast. I broke my ankle ten years ago and have had trouble with it ever since. I'll never be able to get on the slopes again. This let me re-live some of the fun.
That's sad. Ever tried putting effort in skiing on one leg? Seriously, it is possible and gives fun. Maybe not try this 11 minute slope though.
12 km, beautiful. I love these long winding ski runs.
Just wow to everything: from perfect snow conditions, to light in the sky without forgetting that camera operator who did a marvellous job. Did you guys wait for the last run of the day? There was virtually nobody on the slopes!
Where is it located?
Pure bliss. Keep’em coming!
im thinking they musta either went right at sunset or stupid early before anyone was awake just as the sun rose over the horizon
Thank you, thank you! We went last run of the day with the risk of the slope not being the best but at least avoiding the crowds. Must add last year was a bit special in terms of amount of skiers on the mountain so doubt this is an experience I will get to repeat.
Piste was in great shape for last run. Every Covid cloud !
@@EZGovernor Too early in the morning and the pistes are iced up, this looks like a last run of the day.
Yes where is that ??!! 🙏
Absolutely beautiful!
I have been watching this video over and over for a long while. The music and the skiers rhythm are very engaging. Although I no longer ski. I like to think that if I did I would ski like that. No hesitance, no unnecessary traversing, no shoulders, and fluid below the waist.
It is so nostalgic and reminiscent of my days in Austria and France, that it is almost mesmerizing. I hope you make more of these and please include the music. A gps readout for speed and altitude would be even better.
Best regards
Thanks Alexander. I keep this on my playlist and pull it out every so often. One of my favourites.
Please tell your camera man how amazing she is, she is somehow slowing down while not turning and keeping the camera very steady.
Will tell her! She is an excellent skier!
Pretty sure that’s the gimbal effect helping a quality camera woman
Camera man?
Using Gimbal
Pizza.
This was a fantastic ride. Thanks for doing and sharing it.
I come back and watch this. Love it. Used to ski growing up in Snowy Mts, AUS, but nothing like this. Just mesmerising.
Beautiful - just beautiful 🙌🏻♥️
Absolutely wonderful! I love the rhythm and freedom of movement. More please.
Rhythm .. Yes skiing has a very potent, musical groove .. Only person to mention Rhythm (that I saw) .. Right on
To anyone who thinks that they are "too busy" to watch every second, every turn of this video,,,, I truly feel sorry for you.
Absolutely Magnificent skiing and filming. WONDERFUL! BRAWO!
I always said racing is life !.everything else is waiting...Skiing is life !....unforgettable video...uplifting....beautiful...I'll prob replay this video 100 times....
Good snow, elegant carving, nobody ... paradise.
Paradise indeed!
I’ve been skiing in Silvretta Montafon since I was a little kid, this video brings me a lot of nostalgia. Can’t wait to go back there!😍
lucky bastard

Wow! Gorgeous skiing. I really kiss winter sports. Going on ski trips in my late 20s and early 30s were some of the best times I’ve ever had.
The camera person was fantastic !!!! Super beautiful run, would definitely want to try ...
What a gorgeous location. Also, great skiing. I love how when he chooses to fully carve (instead of slightly skidding) how he just accelerates away.
Great Video. I really felt it. My knees flowed with you under the table here. I’d love to see a video of the guy on camera trying to slow down while keeping you perfectly centered in shot. Great job both of you.
Simply wonderful - absolutely love it. I must have watched this clip a 1000 times and I still don't get tired of it. Love the area too - I used to live in the Lake Constance region, not far from the Montafon. Brings back memories...
beautifull places!
Absolutely beautiful and magnificent camera work….the both of you…😊😊
That was one of the nicest looking and well shot ski videos I have seen. If the local tourist board doesn't use it as a promo video then they're missing a major trick. Exccellent job. Slighly confused how the camera ski was running straighter lines and not overtaking the "main" skier but excellent skiing by both parties. I'm not at all jealous of the run and skills on show :)
I’m very impressed with the cameraman because he was very smooth and when he always kept his head x. That’s something you don’t see very often on smaller channels like these!
Finally someone on UA-cam who can actually ski. So many people film themselves but ski like shit.
Appreciate you think I can ski :) Thanks!
You’re incredible…as well as the camera person. Thank You… more videos please!!😍
Camera girl sure did a great job! Give it about a month and there will be more videos!
oh man....such a beauty!!!! Wonderfull place..i stayed at Stuben 15 years ago. Wish i could come again!!!
This was one of those videos...I mean that which you do not see often. Beautiful.
Good job by the guy holding the camera. No shaking and he had a good speed. It's a lot harder than it looks.
He probably has a helmet mounted go-pro lol...
Beautiful
Great post
I need to go skiing soon
Thanks
Absolutely excellent camera work. And, a freekin good run. Great start to the day.
Thanks!
Super Video!!!
Ich hatte heute am 14. Februar 2022 das Vergnügen, morgens ab 9 Uhr zweimal bei bestem Sonnenschein, da runter zu fledern - was für eine geniale Strecke!!! 🤩
My god what a magnificent run. Kudos to the camera person for producing this outstanding take.
That was great. I loved it nice fast pace with those lovely Atomic GS weapons.
Reminded me of my Days in Verbier last run down
What a great video! You ski like I do, long, fast GS turns! Love it!
This is the best ski video I have ever seen. How did you keep the camera so steady. I spent two weeks in Shrunns back in Feb 2020, just before Covid-19 hit, and skied that run many times. There are fantastic views from the top and some good off-piste off the backside of the gondola.
damn dude such beautiful scenery!
Dude, wow, what a cracking video. Subscribed. Great skiing great camera work and great music choice, smashed it!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Hi gyus, thank you for sharing. Nice camera angel behind and excellent shooting. Great run to.
Thanks a lot! glad you enjoyed it!
I can feel the burn 3 minutes in. 10+ minutes on one run is stamina! Amazing video!
Well tbh there where a lot of flat spots and the slopes seemed to be in pretty good condition, the most exhausting part pf skiing is going fast on a mogul slope
@@neoneu5702 Spoken like a true noob. You need stamina to ski 11 minutes straight especially if you are averaging 70kmh regardless of whether there are flat spots. And at 11:04 he clearly makes a mistake because he is TIRED.
@@Romans8-9 yea, come back when you have some experience, in the past 20 years that I've been skiing and the past 10 I've been going crosscountry i can safely say that the most drainikg part on longer runs are steep and uneven slopes
@@neoneu5702 Well clearly this guy was fatigued enough to make a mistake after 11 minutes. But you are so hardcore bro, I am sure you could do 10 of these runs without breaking a sweat.
@@Romans8-9 funny how you keep mentioning his mistake when i not once critiqued his skill or mentioned that mistake. All I ever said was that steep and uneven terrain is the most exhausting but perhaps you have trouble reading.
That was a Super-Duper GS ... nice work!
Hypnotic, nice watching you flow down the run.
My legs is itchy watching this, we are going to St Anton next week. We might consider Schruns next year, thanks for the lovely video and music, much appreciated 😀
Well that’s upset me, ha. What a fantastic run, oh to be young agin and be able to do that. I would be there tomorrow if I could ski again. Lovely video, thank you 🥰
Thank you!
Watched this a few times; a joy to watch. Great, smooth and stylish skier.😄
Love this video, want to come ski here sometime in the future. The camera Girl was amazing to be skiing and operating the camera at the same time!! Thank you for posting a beautiful ski run!
Leg burner is an understatement. Nice job
Cheers!
The endless carve. Amazing
An excellent skiing skill! Great, Alexander!
Thank you!
Also the music, perfect choice. Love your work!!
Greetings from New Zealand, Ohhh wow thank you for sharing. So incredibly beautiful and I absolutely adore the sound track. My Girlfriend lives in Passau and this ski field is only four hours away, so once this craziness is over, I am definitely going to visit and ski here 🥰🌞🥰
Hi Howard! You can come to Austria tomorrow If you are vaccinated. We arrived home yesterday and the amount of the crowd is like in this video. it was the second Best of my 30 years Ski holiday. Cheers from Hungary👍
Nice run! I live here and I know the pain in the legs when you ride in that sporty way all the way down.
I'm a snowboarder but these drawn out carves are so satisfying to see.
Splendid! Amazing job for skiing, recording and film editing. Image and music was spot on, definitey will want to enjoy for videos like this one. Bravoo!
I did that run on a snowboard once without stopping... I was almost dead at the bottom.💯
beautiful area, had the pleasure of going there a year before this video also in january, sadly we didnt have the opportunity to go all the way to the valley on this route and ended up at the small 2 person lift around 3 / 5ths of the way down. i especially liked the area called gargellen which is the highest mountain top in the montafon area. also had some great valley runs especially route 1 red.
It really is a wonderful area!
@@alexandersilfver2948inspired by your run and having the opportunity to work in austria as a anwarter skiteacher i finally got to make this amazing run, only difference is you made it a bit more spicy for yourself taking the black 2 over the 1 but other than that its the same beautiful run :) hope you like it ua-cam.com/video/BrCttfYR2Xc/v-deo.html
Great video. Whoever is shooting the video must be an insane skier :)
I just found this. What a great run and you guys ran it well. Really well. I put this run on my bucket list!
Fantastik. How beautiful! Thank you very much!!!
⛷
Bildstabillisierung ist phänomenal gut! Tolles Video
Amazing skills and panoramas
Perfect run.
Cheers!
I did this ski run this winter 2 times. I know every part of it in your video. It's a funny feeling seeing it video. 😉
You make me want to put skis on again, excellent awesome stuff 🤘😎 thanks for sharing
Excellent skiing. Anyone can learn a lot from this. You have a clean, safe and efficient style that is far more practical than the style shown in some of the instructor videos posted on UA-cam. Those videos often display a pretentious and energy intensive way of skiing that may look good for a minute or two is not sustainable on a run such as this one.
Thank you! Yeah if I had carved it like they do on demo videos you would find me in one of those trees halfway down after loosing any and all strength in my legs!
Nice job call it big mtm skiing. efficient let the terrain dictate your turns and speed use the terrain to your advantage no more jamming turns in modern skiing
your video with this music and your skills are going straith true my soal brother wel done.
Awesome video and skiing. I skied there in Silvretta in 2015 and it is one of my fave spots in Austria. Hope to come back someday. 😊😊😊
That was great fun to watch, almost hypnotic. Two planks or one, that would be cool!
Ja, auch schon gefahren . Habe mir ein bisschen mehr Zeit gelassen . Sehr schöne Abfahrt.
As someone who has only ever skiied the northeast US, this looks like heaven
Great capture!! This is what skiing is all about,, Love it!
Unreal. Looks like full on residential skiing at the bottom. Very cool run.
i love everything about this video
Just a beauty respect to the camera guy
Great video, satisfyingly precise camera. Hopefully one day I'll do the same sky run
Just added to my bucket list.
That's a great addition!
This just looks like such a gorgeous cruiser, I can only imagine what it's like with sunlight on it
It's so damn beautiful - hard to get the whole run in sun in the deep winter months though but come spring its an experience!
Well, that leads me to one question: why not do another one of these come spring?
That’s the plan! There are some other valley runs here that are great so will film them as well.
Right. Not that I ever will but if get the chance to ride this run it looks like I should bring a headlamp....or a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly long extension cord and a halogen flood light.
@@alexandersilfver2948 earned my sub with this comment. im looking forward to the sun run.
Living in Utah and seeing resorts in Colorado USA.. Makes me jealous. Granted our resorts are all close, its too expensive for even a day pass, and too much hassle to get up the canyon anymore.
Yeah I've heard passes are crazy expensive in the US! Maybe becoming a touring aficionado is what you have to do.
@Skip Daulton A weekend being two days? Yea the place in the video charges less than half. I know, I live half an hour from there.
Brilliant …. ! A real pleasure to watch.
Great skiing; great job filming; great location; and, fine music!
Props to the camera operator, so smooth..
What an amazing run. Wish I was there right now.
Love it!!!
Good skiing control my friend
Thank you so much for sharing. A haunting theme with brilliant skiing and camerawork. A joy 🤩
Thank you!
Just amazing !!! Thank you for the ride... ;))
A remarkable run. Well done Alex, and the camera person
I can’t imagine how great it felt to be skiing this ski run! Beautiful landscape and lots of fun skiing. It’s like being free and completely one with nature.
This is so relaxing...
Kudos to the person/drone filming him.
skiing at sunset time with empty runs is the most beautiful thing ever
