J P Came into the comments just to make sure I wasn’t the only one that noticed! That was a quick brilliant joke that they should have followed along with!
Well Lucy Hale was kinda talking they didn't really snub him, he had a remark but there wasn't really a solid opportunity, that shit happens often in conversations with more than 2 people.
AlwaysBroke which is funny Reba grew up in Oklahoma which is totally not the south....and it can’t be from to much time in Nashville....That city would crawl out of Tennessee if it could (I can say that because I am from East Tennessee....The actual real Tennessee)
Rebas there like "I didn't take this accent reduction class cause I don't have an avcent!" Lol I know that's what she's thinking, I love me southern accent and Reba does it better than anybody ever! !!
I totally relate. At home I spoke with an American accent due to my mother and Grandmas strong American accents and at school would speak with a New Zealand accent. Now 17 I just speak with my American accent instead of switching back n forth bc its much easier and natural to me.
Because he isn't Piers Morgan, Russell Brand, Jeremy Clarkson, Ed Milliband, Jeremy Corbin, David Cameron, Theresa May or Boris Johnson. Nor is he Jimmy Saville or Rolf Harris.
I actually didn't know I did this till now but I have a strong Spanish accent at home but in public I have a strong American accent that confuses people when they hear my accents change
It's quite common in southern US for students to be given the chance to take these types of classes. The regional accents are on a scale from somewhat unintelligible to only uttering one understandable word every 3 or 4 spoken words. Its hell.
I've found that this happens a lot when you live in another country/ associate with a lot of people from foreign countries. I know that I quite often talk with a French lilt (?) when I'm talking in English to French people (I live in France), and with an American one when I'm talking to American friends/ friends with more of an American accent than anything. A lot of my friends (mostly international) do the same.
I am from London (England) moved to Australia when I was 21, I've been here 11 years now and I sound born Aussie except when I yell or talk about England, for some reason I resort back to my British accent. But I can't put one on to save my life.
I'm from Texas and have a very heavy accent. As an actor you have to be versatile which is why people take classes to diminish their natural accent or learn to use another for roles it's unfortunate she lost hers completely though.
Old Hollywood invented a "standard pronunciation" dialect called Mid-Atlantic that stars had to learn. Models like Raquel Welch had to learn it as well, along with "deportment" (how to walk, act and behave). My aunt had to do that when she was a model. They used to give out free packs of Pall Mall cigarettes to them because smoking kept you skinny and it was a "classy" cigarette.
I’m from Kentucky originally but lived up north for so long that I lost my accent. So now when I’m back home visiting, talk to my mom on the phone for a long time, or just get really drunk, it comes out.
"...Your voice needs to come off as elegant as your clothing. ok, so try this. Would you like a spot of tea? you *YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS"* - Revolutionary Era Dennis Reynolds. it all make sense now.
born and raised in East Tennessee for 33 years. Yes some people have accents here(from my experience older people, 45+), but for most people here in the Knoxville area there isn't an accent.
i flip my accent depending on who i speak with. If they're american speakers i speak with an american accent, if i speak to brit eng speakers, i use an brit eng accent. Neither are really my default one cause i'm not even from an english speaking country, i just learned the accents.
I live in the West Coast of the US and through the years have befriended several transplants from the South who had or still have varying degrees of Southern accents. I've always found it odd, and to be honest with you, a little bit disheartening to find out that most of them think that we (here in the West) automatically think someone is dumb if they speak with a Southern accent. We don't! We honestly don't attribute a Southern accent to being a slow, if not outright dumb. I promise you, we don't look down on you because of your accents, so please just be yourselves. We like you, and we would prefer you not change who you really are. Now, if you start saying things like the Earth is flat, or that God is the best form of contraception, I will definitely question your intelligence, but that does NOT have anything to do with having a Southern accent, or ANY accent for that matter!
I'm English and Cuban right. So I'm from London originally and moved to America when I was young so my accent is a mixture of all of them. But it's mostly RP.
StyleNerd -Tracy her lips look the exact same since she was a teen. Smh you bitches have no life. Why do you give two shit what people do to their bodies anyways? People exercise to not only be healthy but to look fit; people get braces, veneers, dentures etc to make their teeth look straight plus whiten them. We dress a certain way to look good. People style and dye their hair to look good, wear makeup to enhance features. Fucking skin care even. We all do shit to ourselves to look better and to feel better. Nothing wrong with that. It’s just how it is and if someone says otherwise they’re lying. Overall her lips aren’t even that big and they’ve always looked like that. Oh makeup can do extraordinary things to make our faces look slightly plumper, slimmer, and so on. Overall, Get over it.
Ica 0 I'm trying to work out timings. I thought this might be an old video from like 2 years ago when she had blonder hair. She's definitely had it dark and shorter since then and now back. Looks lovely here 😊
As a person who has a slight southern accent, people make fun of you especially in places like LA and you're viewed as stupid or lesser than. I think she should have kept it but thats probably why she didnt. Notice most southern actors/actresses "lose" it when they go to LA, on purpose.
john Baldock , generally actors from the South want a general American accent. Regional accents are used in stories that take place in the South, Boston , New York etc.
In England its the West Country and East Anglia accents - SW & East England - that get made fun of. If you sound ooh aarrr people think you're a stupid yokel farmer.
I think for her, as an actress, she had to at least learn how to speak without her southern accent because otherwise her roles would be severely limited to only southern characters.
I think it's mad disrespectful when Hollywood tries to get southern actors to lose their accents its a part of who they are like why do they have to get ride of it to get work you can pick and choose when you have it on if you really want to
The point is to speak in a way that is close to non dialect as possible. Your news casters do it, your radio personalities do it, and famous people do it. And it opens up the parts and roles that you can play if your an actor

How James Corden became famous in America is one of the great mysteries of life, considering how unlikable he is
Because he isn't Piers Morgan, Russell Brand, Jeremy Clarkson, Ed Milliband, Jeremy Corbin, David Cameron, Theresa May or Boris Johnson. Nor is he Jimmy Saville or Rolf Harris.
@@SidneyBroadshead He also isn't Arthur Pendragon, what's your point?
The actor John Barrowman does this aswell. He can switch from Glaswegian to American as he grew up in Glasgow in Scotland but then moved to America.

You can still hear a little Tennessee in Lucy Hale's accent. You can take a girl out of Tennessee, but you can't take Tennessee out of a girl.
