    Put nothing but ethanol free gas in all small motors will keep it running better.
    Great video.
    Been looking at sawmills and trying to figure out what mill to get.

    Steve’s small engine saloon has some great videos on cleaning carbs on these types of engines, they are VERY simple to do, takes me about 10min to drop the bowl and clean the main jet and the little plunger that the float uses to control fuel into the bowl… most times I don’t even remove the carb I just clean those 2 things and the problems all go away.
    My mill is still buried under 2’ of snow… now I’m itching to get back to it so I can start on my deck 😁👍

      Good I’m glad told me! I was going to remove the carb but I’ll try that first.
      2’ of snow?! Man I’m glad I live in Tennessee!

      It is almost easier the first time to pull the carb off completely just to see how it all works BUT it adds another level of frustration dealing with the throttle linkage
      pro tip
      Hold an ice cream pail or other small plastic container under the carb as you take it apart to catch any small parts that drop out like the fuel shutoff plunger when you remove the small pin that holds the float in place…

    Lol, we have been teased on Micah’s channel for months with that leaning tree, and I kept wondering why he doesn’t just cut it down and get rid of the risk. Apparently he just wanted a bigger better smokehouse, and what could be better then building the new smokehouse with lumber from the tree that crushed the old one? For what it’s worth, and you might not have the same results, I have found that running ethanol free gas in all my small engines has largely eliminated any carburetor problems. Thankfully my neighbor buys the ethanol free gas in bulk and lets me buy directly from him, so I have extremely convenient access to it.

    • @Jared-Brubaker
      @Jared-Brubaker  Рік тому

      Yep he’s a tease lol, But I’d say it was worth the wait 😁 he built one heck of a smokehouse!

      Thanks Bryon! That’s what surprised me, I put sea foam in the last several tanks to avoid this problem but it happened anyway 🤷🏽‍♂️

      Try to find ethanol free gas at a gas station. I won't use anything else in my small engines now. You likely have to take your carb apart. Also check if the governor is moving freely and is oiled and there are no obstructions in the gas line.

    In process of watching the whole video. I notice you run yours a little different than mine. I keep seeing you measure from the bunk to log top then go crank the mill head down by the scale in back certain amounts. Does your scale tell you how far you are off the bunk and thats how your deciding how thick your boards are? If so which scale is it?

    • @Jared-Brubaker
      @Jared-Brubaker  Рік тому +1

      I made one inch marks with a sharpie on the metal beside the magnetic scale that show how far off the bunks I am, I only use it for the slabbing cuts, I find it easier but maybe I’m missing an easier way🤷🏽‍♂️ thanks for watching Aaron!

    Go to the airport near you and buy 5 gallons of 100 octane low lead and run it in your sawmill engine. I do this about once a year with all my small engines it will clean all the gunk out of your fuel system
    DO NOT RUN THIS FUEL IN ANYTHING THAT HAS A CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON IT!
