Py you might have this in the works but I’d love to see ‘How good was’ videos with past players similar to how you sometimes use them in your videos to compare (Pedri/Iniesta).
Great analysis! I noticed a significant issue with Manchester United's build-up during critical moments of the game. The attacking trio of Rashford, Martial, and Antony seemed somewhat lackadaisical when it came to pressing Arsenal. In my opinion, introducing Hojlund into the lineup could be a game-changer. A 4-2-2-2 formation could be the answer, with Hojlund and Rashford playing as inside forwards from the wings, Bruno adopting a false 9 role, and Mount taking the number 10 position during attacks. This setup, with Casemiro and Amrabat holding deep, could potentially be very effective for this United team.
ahahaha there's no need for that nonewthing dig xD Start benching Havertz if you're not even going to consider him at CF. ESR should start instead, bring back that ESR&Saka duo that has proven itself time and time again. Shift Odegaard to the left where he can help Martinelli more and have a nice triangle with Zinny up high. Fabio is a top top backup to Odegaard and will shine plenty when Arsenal start to play 2/3 matches in a week. Much love to you, always great and sensible videos! hope you have your breakout soon
Utd's biggest issue this game was not being able to build beyond the first phase. Onana is great, but you need a ball playing controlling midfielder to receive the ball from the keeper, dropping between the centre backs. Casemiro is a ball winner, not a controller. Bruno Fernandes doesn't have the temperament (emotionally and tactically) to control the tempo of games either, the way in which Ødegaard does and to be honest, the ability. Bruno is best in transition, making killer passes. I can see why Ten Hag likes Mainoo. Amrabat will help give Utd better control, but more players like that are needed. Eriksen is okay, but legs are gone and he is terrible at winning duels. I think Arsenal were wary of Onana's line breaking passing ability esp. to find Rashford in the channels, meaning they sat in a mid block however if Utd had De Gea in goal, then Arsenal win this 3-0. Martial's body can no longer cope with top level football, so it was almost pointless having him up top. Hoijlund made a difference with decent hold up and link up play, so will be interesting to see how that plays out moving forward. So having Onana is a good start for Utd in terms of changing their style of play and being able to control games, but more players comfortable on the ball with athleticism are desperately needed.

Recently you guys have become my most favorite football channels and i meant it down to every single grass there is on football fields (or any kinds of field ;) ) in the world. Since you are making this a series i suggest taking a look at Brighton vs Newcastle game. RDZ's 4+2 box build up has been famous recently aye? I noticed that he's using a 4-3-3 kind of shape sometimes during this match, perhaps for mixing up since having only 1 style of build up is obviously not good and they lost some games too. I just find that fascinating and you should give it a go.
I like and appreciate your work, but man, this argument about Onana's weak wrists in this particular situation is so far-fetched - it was an instinctive attempt to save the ball that changed the direction massively like 0.5 sec before intervention. In my opinion, he just did not reach it properly on time (and honestly did not stand much chance of reaching it) - therefore comment of poor goalkeeping... Disagree with it It's like blaming Ramsdale for poor positioning against Fulham - where was he supposed to stand? Or to blame Onana for being lobbed against Lens
Totally get the frustration with Havertz but he's been specifically brought in to address the challenges that Arsenal had last season in breaking down low blocks which Arteta has identified as an area of opportunity (at least 70-80% of teams deployed low blocks against Arsenal). This means he's having to alter the set up a bit and that will take time to function smoothly. Also criticizing Havertz for build up play is like criticizing Saliba for lack of assists (not PIB specifically but other fans in general who are engaging in this criticism). If he would be criticized for his lack of incisive movement or for not finishing off chances then it is definitely valid criticism His role is to create space up front and act more like a shadow striker. But for this to work his teammates need to understand his movement which will take time plus playing for Chelsea and Arsenal is very different and it will take Havertz some time to get used to intensity of Arsenal's play. Havertz is young and Arteta will and should give him time, having said that he also has to take accountability for any negative impact this integration of Havertz will bring. But that is what good Managers do, they look for areas of opportunity and take risks to constantly improve and don't get bogged down my the noise around.
Excellent analysis. As an Arsenal fan, the scoreline flattered us, to be sure. We lacked clinical finishing (culprits: Saka & Harvetz) and, but for Gabriel’s masterful (but somewhat fortunate, minuscule) “offside trap”, we could well have lost.
He didn’t expose Ten Hag though did he. If Garnacho’s shirt was 1 micrometer thinner then it’s not offside, two of Ten Hag’s substitutions combine for the winner and we’re all saying that was the perfect away performance and he’s a tactical genius. Arsenal got very very lucky at the end.
He exposed Ten Hag decision to start Martial up front which enabled Arsenal to build up with ease and his poor choice of CB substitutions. Agreed with everything else you said - Ten Hag generally did well to stifle this Arsenal side and was close to securing the win.
it was a hugely weakend team, the fact that it took Arteta with such an expensive squad to win in such a fluke manner showed exactly how bad they were. @@PythagorasinBoots

I love ur analysis but Arsenal didn't play poor, these whole set up from them is actually to increase control in their game, which we rarely see last season. the reason why none of Arsenal players actually trying to press Onana when he got the ball is because that's the point! when u commit bodies to press Onana, means they have to leave their mark on the players whose gonna pick up the ball (casemiro and eriksen). that's the point of these whole set up.
Don’t disagree with any of that but neither did we say that Arsenal played poorly due to a poor pressing strategy? Do not recall making such a statement.
