I think youre underplaying how good that defense is gonna be and your acting like their offense will be iowa level. The oline will be a top 10 unit in the country just because of how many guys they have rotated over the years giving these guys who havent started in the past the suffucuent experience needed to be elite. Donovan edwards will also be a top 5 running back in the country behind that oline and alex orjis mobility should provide an opening in the option game. While orjis passing ability is not elite like mccarthys was last year, he can get the job done and thats all Michigan needs at quarterback. Basically, the Michigan quarterbacks job is to not lose the game and its not like orji doesnt have good pass catching options as he has probably the best tight end in the country in Colston loveland along with a decent group of receivers. Now im getting to the defense which is going to win them games. They have the best Dline in the country with two of th etop 3 defensive tackles and josiah stewart (a top 10 edge rusher) and derrick moore (whom I believe is a day 2 pick at worst next year) of the edge. At linebacker they have Ernest hausmann who rotated in perfectly behind colson and barret and jaishawn barham who is one of the best linebackers in the country. In the secondary they have the best corner in the country in will johnson, makari paige who has started for them the past 2 years at strong safety and a bunch of transfers to fill in the rest of the holes in the secondary including an all big 10 safety and an all sec safety along with an fcs all american at cb. Rod moore (one of the best safeties in the country) will also be back from his acl injury around week 8-9 which should give them a boost in their bigger games. This is a 10-2 team at worst in my opinion because ths defense wont let up more than 10 ppg and the offense just needs to score around 20-25ppg for them to be a top 10 team. I think floor is 9-3 ceiling is 12-0 and my prediction is 11-1 (though i do think 10-2 is very likely)
Thank for your comment and the depth of knowledge that you have but I still disagree. I don’t think Michigan is bad but I just see them losing to three really good teams that are all probably making the CFP this season with Texas,Oregon, and Ohio State. With Michigan’s offensive question marks I just don’t know how it will work
They can go 12-0. Will they? Likely not. Their floor is 9-3. But I think they go either 10-2 or 11-1. Michigan's defense will be even better than last year's, and Texas is all offense; the same offense that lost to Washington who could hardly move the ball against Michigan's defense in the Natty. I think Texas will be tough, but it will be a Michigan W. Oregon and Ohio State are the only games I'm really worried about, and I bet they win one of those two due to their drive and will. People are really sleeping on Michigan.

My other question marks are at WR and somewhat at Oline with all that you are replacing

Y'all ao dumb bro. Like honestly. Not only has Michigan cheated, vut they've had an easy as hell schedule for the past 2 years, with a bunch of COVID super seniors on their team. Not to mention playing in a Big10 that had absolutely NO offense last year.

Pretty confident in 9-3 for the Wolverines this year. 7-5 at the very very worst. I’m very confident they’ll lose to Texas, Oregon and Ohio State. Washington could go either way.
USC should be the only other game they MIGHT drop a loss to, but not only is that game in Ann Arbor but it’s against the kings of inconsistency USC. I could see the Trojans winning based on how much talent Michigan lost and how relatively little it’s replenished, but I can also see the Trojans just struggling to make plays. If you’re a Michigan fan you gotta feel like it should not be as close of a matchup as it is.

@@thefootballexpert2023 I am not 😂 I am a Penn state fan unfortunately for myself, Nittany lions are going 7-5 with losses to USC, Wash, Ohio St, USC, and Wisconsin, hopefully coming out the other end with a new head coach and a different QB1. Sucks we aren’t scheduled to play UM the one year we’d genuinely likely batter ‘em

I got Penn State going 11-1
The only loss on their schedule will probably be from Ohio State
USC has no idea who their quarterback is. They’re in a worse position in Michigan is. The Alabama game will tell you a lot about Wisconsin. Penn State has a nice schedule very manageable.
Maybe 11-1 or 10-2 at best. At worst I see 8-4. The Texas game at home is a toss up to me. There is a no doubt that Michigan will take a step back, but it’s matter of how much.

@@thefootballexpert2023 Michigan has done nothing but crank out NFL caliber lineman since Covid. It happens year after year Miles Hinton was a starter at the beginning of last year and was hurt. He is back and starting this year at When Zach went down, Crippin stepped up at the center position. Alabama and Washington games He will be your starter this year. A graduate transfer from Northwestern, who will be a plug-in play starter
There’s a long list of guys that are gonna be playing this year that would’ve been playing last year had it not been for the men who were drafted to the nfl.

My UM prediction - they finish 5th in the B1G TEN. 1. They are severely diminished, and 2. They have a tough schedule.
