Hi! I’ve watched a lot of knitting podcasts, but I’ve never seen someone go through yarn options in this way. Kelly had so many wonderful ideas! Thank you both for putting together this information.
What a great idea this was. So lovely to have some ideas on what yarns to use. Love your podcast.
Thanks so much!
This was great! Very helpful seeing all the different yarn choices! Thank you!
thanks for watching!
I can’t wait!!! There are lots of choices without using fingering weight and mohair. Kelly can assist you. Zz.
Oh my gosh, this was so great! First of all...thank you for introducing us to all of the yarn choices! I learned so much and am inspired to make a Love Note! Thank you for mentioning gauge and fabric (drape). I look forward to many more of your podcasts!
aw thanks!
Thank you. That was a big help!
awesome :)
This video was awesome! I loved all the wonderful combos. XxxRichalyn
thanks!
Thank you so much for this! I have been wanting to knit a Lovenote for ages but have been unsure about yarn choices. This has helped so much. I just might join your Lovenote KAL. I found out about you from Fernanda of Little Monkeys and Me podcast. Looking forward to your future podcasts and I will look at all your past episodes, too.
aww thanks for coming on over :)
That was so awesome. I really enjoyed seeing all the different combos. This helped a lot be able to figure out what I might be interested in choosing. Your friend is awesome. How lucky you are to have her.
awesome! I love to hear that this was helpful. and, yes, I am super lucky to have her as a friend :)
I’m so excited about all the choices. Now to make decisions
You have one of the best pinks I have seen for the Love Note in your stash.
This was great! I really enjoyed seeing and hearing about all these fabulous options!
Thank you both, Nicole & Kelly! I love seeing all the combinations and possibilities! I have a feeling choosing yarns is going to be the most fun yet overwhelming experience in the entire KAL for me 🤣
haha so true!
I recently finished a ranunculus with the Rowan felted tweed. LOVE IT!
Thanks for the video. I’m probably going stash diving and this has given me some great ideas. I’m also contemplating only doing 1 or 2 repeats of the lace pattern. Hopefully, those who have made this before can offer help with modifying if I get stuck.
I love this idea of only doing one or two repeats!!
Did someone say Rowan cashmere haze?! Who even knew that existed? 😍😍😍 Skein ordered 👍🏻😁
haha right?!
It was so good to see all the alternative options! I want to stash dive for this one, but have been very much enabled by all the beautiful yarn that was showcased!
I love the colors of all of your things... so I am SURE I will be excited to see what you pick :)
Thank you for the video. It was really useful. Does the pattern say how much DK yarn to buy if not using a fingering and mohair yarn? Thank you. X
The pattern recommends that you need the same amount of fingering and mohair, which means I think you would also buy the same amount of yardage in just a DK. The pattern provides two different amounts of yardage (cropped and regular length).
I’m all in for the LOVE NOTE KAL! What do you think about using BC GARN Tussah Silk, held with Valley Yarn Alpaca Silk?
If I wanted to knit the love note in a medium 4 weight yarn, how would I determine my gauge? I did a swatch and I got 16 stitches to 3.5 inches?
What are the y arms you used in your lovely Love Note. Thanks
Just found this KA, hopefully I can catch up. I’m confused though, is the mohair a fingering and is it mixed with something else?
You can definitely catch! I knit my first love note in two weeks :) also, there are participating is the most fun even if you don't finish. My mohair is a lace weight and I have a sock yarn that is fingering, so holding lace + fingering = dk.
