I always have multiple projects on the go! They all serve different purposes depending on the type or project or where I am in the project. For example, I can only knit stockinette round and round when I'm reading so I need a stockinette sock, or stockinette hat, or be knitting on a stockinette sweater body. My preferred type of project to keep in the car or to bring to things when I'm waiting (appts, kids' lessons, etc.) are small like a hat or sock that doesn't require counting or looking at a pattern because I may need to put down the project at any given minute (so again stockinette round and round or ribbing is okay here too!). And oftentimes I to run with an idea because I just have to see what happens where I'm just that excited about it and have to go with the momentum of that creative energy! Take care❤~Stephanie P.S. - I was on a competitive regional swim team as a kid (maybe late elementary - junior high-ish??)! Brings back memories when you talk about your daughter and her meets!
I love this idea of different projects for different parts of the day/week. I think that really captures part of why I have so much going on! :) also, yay for swim team life! I know nothing about it and am learning through MJ. Wow, it's intense! But, fun!
Your Love Note is gorgeous. I love how you used the single skeins, I may need to take a look at my single skeins differently. You have inspired me. I probably definitely have enough scraps of the color you could have
I feel like 3-5 projects on the needles/hooks is my happy spot. I def have cast-onitis right now, but also have so many plates spinning that I’m currently only knitting on secret projects I can’t share 😂
Recently I knit a cardigan and my yarn was thicker than asked for. I did the math and knit a size 2. I couldn’t believe how fast it went when I knit a smaller size because I usually knit a size 5. It fits perfectly too. 😊
LOL - I am exactly the same, I knit A LOT but always on a million WIPS so sometimes there is a bit of time between finishing projects, and sometimes they all finish at once!
Love all the sweater knitting Nicole! So inspiring! I have two on the needles at the moment (well 3, but the third is in hibernation) and am struggling to share my knitting time between them!
I didn’t realize until I started reading the 3rd Crescent City book that it ties in heavily to the ACOTAR series (of which I’d only read the first book). So now I’m reading those two series side by side. But, I like it because focusing on the characters and their stories distracts me from life stresses.
For the love note, would you be up for ripping back just a few rows from your unfinished sleeve and then helically knitting the yarn you’re running out of with the other light Arkansas yarn co yarn? That might make the transition stand out less?
Hello I've heard so much about you so your podcast came up on my list! I do have a lot of hand dyed sock skeins and it's so hard to find something as I live in Australia and it's hot here so hats aren't necessary! I know you've been doing this for a long time - after all episode 47 - but you still don't watch your podcasts back because you're not looking at the camera but at yourself on the screen. it is disengaging for viewers .We want to feel we connect with you but you are looking just above us and we can't feel like we are looking eye to eye. it's distracting. Hope you can fix it to make the podcast better. :-)
I am a full time professor and do this for fun. If it's disengaging for you, that's totally fine! There's so many other podcasts out there. Just enjoy what you enjoy! And, be kind.
This was just what I needed this afternoon - to spend some joyful time hanging out with my bestie talking about knitting! 🥰🥰
Hi there! I saw you had one go up today too! I just landed at my conference but you will be the first knitting pod I watch when I have time 🥰
That bulky boucle is looking like it's going to be such a cozy jumper!
yes! I am so excited!

aww thanks so much!

haha I very much relate to the cast-on-itis!
Recently I knit a cardigan and my yarn was thicker than asked for. I did the math and knit a size 2. I couldn’t believe how fast it went when I knit a smaller size because I usually knit a size 5. It fits perfectly too. 😊
that's so fun! Yes, it goes so quick!
I would only knit on one sweater at a time. I think having so many projects would make me crazy! haha
haha, that's probably a great idea.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hi Janet!
LOL - I am exactly the same, I knit A LOT but always on a million WIPS so sometimes there is a bit of time between finishing projects, and sometimes they all finish at once!
I can't stop myself lol

I am the same way! There's never enough time for knitting :)

oh that's fun! I am going to start crescent city (again) as soon as I finish iron flame!
I am finishing up a fantasy book trilogy by N.K.Jemisin, which I’m loving. It’s called the Inheritance Trilogy. It is excellent on audio book too!
Thanks for the fantasy recommendation! :)

other option!
Ultimately it's your sweater. But what if you took an all hot pink neon and did a block of color? I know that wouldn't be for everyone though.
so true! like just embrace it and go all out! 🥰
