Great video thank you… I have a question after I add all my colors using a heat gun do I have to immediately put it in the oven? Like can I make 30-50 jigs with color and tomorrow put them in the oven? Or does it have to be same day type of deal?
I'm just starting to do this, can you have too much heat? Not sure if that's my problem or not. I can never get a perfect flat finish. I don't have the bed I just dip in the can. Also right now I'm just doing blades for crawler harnesses. Thanks
@@steveray183 I’ve never done anything other than lead heads so I can’t really say about the blades …with lead heads yes you can have to much heat not sure if that helps you any
If the surface is grainy, it isn't hot enough yet, curing in an oven smooths it out. If it is bubbly, it got too hot and burned the paint. If it is thick and lumpy, it got too much paint. With the lid tight, roll the can to try to fluff it (like sifting flour) and swipe it through more quickly. The hotter it is and the longer in the paint, the thicker the melted later gets, then it may run and drip when curing. If the part is cool enough, you can get a thin grainy layer that could cure perfectly, IF it doesn't get bumped and chip off first.
Hello from Arkansas. How and where do you store your jig paint? I see a jig color chart there in the background can you post a picture of that on your Facebook ? Thanks . Always great instructions on you videos.
Watching your videos on here is what got me into tying and painting my own jigs . Thank you and keep up the good work .
Sweet process!! Heat shrink is an extra step but seems worth it!! Thanks for sharing Eric!!
Ya make it look so easy!

I don't use a hemostat. I use a fly fishing clamp . It has a smooth jaw and you get very little or no paint on the eye.
So cool!
I am in Gonor Manitoba Canada.
I want to make some jigs for my sister in law. I am going to try to copy you. You are so talented.
Thank you….. let me know if you need any help
What is your baking procedure? Temp and time? Thanks for the help!!

I store mine in the area I work no climate control it goes through all the seasons no issues at all
@@ericmasseyjigco good , i have mine in the fridge so I will take them out and leave in my shop. it isn't heated or cooled either. thank you
If it’s been in the fridge might be best to keep there the shock going from that cold to hot could possibly cause a problem
Simple enough 🍺🎣
What size eyes do you use on 1/16 pill head jigs
Does the fish tank pump just keep the powder fluffy?
Yes it does
👍👍👍👍👍👍

I actually cover my jig eyes with heat shrink tubing.
You don’t have to
