I grew up in the Caribbean seeing Black female pilots who flew for Air Jamaica and many who are now flying for Caribbean Airlines, so now it is about time to see that there is now a mentorship program in the USA to train Black female pilots. Another program to big up is the one started by Jamaican-American Barrington Irving who flew around the world. His youth mentorship program in Miami trains Black and Brown children to fly an airplane.
Well done. Absolutely loved this interview. I’m from England and my 14 year old daughter’s dream is to become a pilot. She has always said this from she was much younger. She has already completed a programme for young people of ethnic groups with an interest in the aviation industry. Next week we are taking her to a pilot centre where she will be able to have a trial flight on aircraft where she actually gets to fly it herself with an instructor. She is so excited.
@@gemgrateful ATP… but I’m on hold for something stupid I did years ago and now there is 6 month gap.. it’s ok. I’m not discouraged just going to take a little bit longer! The air park is literally walking distance from my job.
Hello, I just came across this information, I just finished my solo flight. now I’m working on my cross country solo. I’m very interested in your program. Is the offer still open?
I want to fly. How do I sign up? I do not have the resources to pay for school. I’m also a fourth year medical student so I have a lot of student loan debt too. Is there a scholarship application where I can apply?
Yes, there are a few black pilots today with great stories of success. But only a handful I've met that actually take time to help older people pursue the dream. We should try and help each other no matter what age group. Someone helped them, and maybe not. That's the problem with out culture. I'm doing it out of pocket and once I'm done I'll never turn my back and not try and help someone else.
My 15 year old granddaughter is interested in pilot programs but was having a hard time getting some information. Where can I get some information for her?
Unique show, an inspiration realm for woman 👩 to live their full potential of purpose in life with dignity and ethics in humbleness Amen 🙏 to answer prayers for the future generations.
What about boys thy needs help my grandson and granddaughter i which I can talk to you to help them so I can put them in flying school thy have good grades
I'm sure that you are not even a thought or a consideration in her life. Do you think that you're the first bigoted sexist fool that she's ever encountered? Boy bye.
I started flight school at turned 39. Pilots license in progress . Needed to hear this today ❤️ Gives me encouragement and the push to keep going .
Congratulations!!! Your really inspiring me to make my dreams come true.
Thank you Mrs. Hopson for giving back and informing us that it's never to late!! God Bless you!

She won't get anywhere ethnics are incapable of flying a plane, stick to limbo dancing
Ms. Carole is an inspiration. Lately I've had an infatuation with pilot videos and came across this video. Thank you!!! 💜💜💜
Great interview, awesome story!!!!
She has so much class!!
I have had a lot of trial and error “careers” and I don’t think I have ever been as excited as I am about becoming a Pilot!
What school are you going to?

Did anybody catch the name of the airline she referred to doing the recruitment & training??
I didn’t hear her say it, but she stood in front of a United Airlines aircraft.
Aviate is the program through American Airlines.
