    It really works! I have many readings now below 100. Taking some advice from another video I often add , while sitting, a weight on my knee. I use my 25lb kettlebell. Of course be careful not to drop it on your foot😉

    Thank you. It is very useful and easy to exercise particularly while sitting in front of the computer.
    Please do post a follow-up of this soleus pushup. 👏👏👏

      Don't worry for big pharma, they will continue to sell. Unfortunately, most of the people, will prefer to get pills and eat tons of carbs than do any move, let alone soleus push-ups.😢

  • @trulylogicalmind3645
    @trulylogicalmind3645 2 місяці тому

    The soleus push up just involves lifting of the feet at the ankle up and down.The toe lifting is additional and tends to make you uncomfortable after a few repetition.

    At the gym, the seated calf raise machine does this, and weight can be added for much greater calf stimulation. Curious to know if adding weight will intensify the results? Theoretically, if you work the soleus harder with added weight, the results can possibly be achieved faster than sitting there for hours with little resistance? I would bet thats the case!

    Thank you Sir for your nice explaination. However, I did see some other videosand on the site of University of Houton texas as well > no where it is mentioned to lift up the toes - front of the foot as you have. Have you added that on your own or is there any specific reason for the same?

    I have watched several videos on soleus push-ups, and all the other videos show just raising the heels but not lifting the toes.

    This maybe due to the repetition. I will explain by using an analogy. When we were kids and first learning to tie our shoes we were intimidated by tying them and asked our parents or our parents automatically tied them for us. Eventually we gained the courage to tie them for ourselves. Through repetition we performed this task automatically without thinking of the process and the idea became a subconscious movement. NEET uses much of the calories through daily tasks, habits, thinking and responsive movements. I would think 4 hours of movements like this would become just as automatic as anything that coincides with repetition especially if it is prone to burn calories more efficiently.

      This is because the muscle involved burns blood glucose directly.

    Would this be as effective if done while standing?

    • @1234cheerful
      @1234cheerful Рік тому

      I'd like to know that too. I guess it would take another study. (The heels up and down while standing is apparently recommended to strengthen bone. Up on toes and down to heels with a lttle thump. Just be sure your balance is good. ) I have to admit I forget to do this or I am eating while standing so not for blood sugar. Read Elske's comment below for the key detail. 😊

      Maybe. I tried both ways placing a hand on my calf and the muscle contraction did not seem the same amount. But sitting, you have the resistance of pushing up from the floor. Still, better than nothing I suppose and you would still be working your ankles.
