I agree with the idea of using a GT4 or ex FIA Race car as a platform for other race applications. All of the hard work is done and so many small things, the air jacks, body in white so you can see leaks, structural improvements, make it easier to work on. Also should you bin it, there are others available built to the same level.
This guy knows his engineering. I bet that their limiting factor will be how scared they will be of the speed they'll generate. Give it a couple of years and they'll destroy the established shops
Such a great chat with Hank. The biggest Audi nerd in the universe and a super intelligent dude that has the runs on the board and knowledge many of us can only dream about. Always thoroughly enjoy content like this where the technical talk from both parties are on the same page. Having someone (rather than a car enthusiast’Tuber who knows little about technical aspects) to chat to Hank and ask relevant questions many of us Audi fans want to hear about is awesome. Great work HP Academy. 👏
Glad you enjoyed this one too. We're always so lucky that clever people like Hank are willing to share some of their time and knowledge with us all - Taz.
@@hpa101 don’t sell yourself short. We are equally lucky you guys have the actual understanding of key performance aspects in order to ask the right questions. Having followed Hank for many years and using some of the IROZ kit on my Stage 2 E85 RS3, it was a real treat to get his thoughts and insights on the R8 platform. I have no doubt Hank will reach those lofty goals and to see those top end tuners like AMS and UGR work together and share data/knowledge means it’s us, the end user who gets the benefits. Although way out of my price range, I can still dream that one day I will own a V10 AWD R8. Such a crying shame Audi are moving away from ICE engines, Hybrid I can live with but from all reports the DAZA and the V10 are history in any form, watch their sales tank because the emotion these engines offer the enthusiast is simply scintillating. Little off track lol, thanks again mate. 🙏👌
Hank and his crew at Iroz Motorsport are the best, been following their builds for years. Their blue RS3 was one of the few to give the Hoonicorn a run for its money on Hoonicorn vs. The World!
Check out the video from Motive Garage about traction control on an R33 from a few years ago. The resolution and the tuning in the aftermarket to keep that tire slip at peak friction are approaching what EVs can do.
Roughly how much boost are we talking about with ram air? 1 PSI or so? Rearward bumper intake would then be -1 PSI compared to standing air, so 2 PSI difference in total between ram air and rear bumper? I am guessing taking the air away from the high pressure front would help generate less drag and sucking in air in the already low pressure rear bumper would just worsen drag.
Would need the data from this car to know and this doesn't account for any aero impact, but Shane T has discussed it for a different application and quoted 9-10 psi - www.hpacademy.com/blog/how-to-tune-with-shane-t-2010hp-83psi-4-cylinder-sr20-tech-talk/? - Taz.

Is there a way of contacting Hank? I have a solution for his exhaust outlet/aero problem.

Hank is a mastermind!
No one does interviews that are interesting, educational and understandable like this channel.
Thanks Andre, and HPA crew.
Much appreciated!

They have been there like 13 years and really good work but thats all. Hundreds of shops around the world sharing the same pie. Just not so mediatic.

Loving the technical explanations and openness 😎
Another Great Podcast/Video Episode...
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it too 🤘
