    The Biggest Pander ever here we go Yasuke
    Who Is Yasuke? Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Black Samurai Explained
    See Yasuke was closer to a Waifu for Oda than a Samurai. he was in Oda court as his bro or lover. Yasuke was a retainer which basically meant you where friends with the Daimyo hanged out with them played board games etc.
    Oda is then famous for having many relationship with his retainers that where men.
    There is no actual evidence at all of Yasuke doing any warrior job or strategy skills etc. He did not work or did any typical "samurai" things, instead he as the pal at the court, which the leaders of the court had not only Japan but the Feudal system of Europe is basically the same thing.

    I keep having to bring this up because now everyone is a japanese historian that only does surface level research. Yasuke was a failure in terms of his service to oda. He achieved nothing of note other than being a black man in feudal japan. Had he been japanese then he would have remained nameless because of how little he actually contributed to japans history. Whats worse is now people are trying to equate greater accomplishments to this historical figure than he actually deserves. Talking like he was the baddest warrior when he lost every battle he was in...

      at least games like Nioh acknowledged that he never did anything in proper history by having him just be the super imposing guard of Oda that happened to be as strong if not stronger than he looks. he was so indebted to Oda that he perishes alongside him despite being perfectly capable of making it on his own if he wanted to
      he was cool, imposing, offered a really good one-on-one duel that actually pressed the average player, was a nice companion, and DIDNT impede on the loose adherence to history

    • @Myrmonden
      @Myrmonden  18 днів тому +1

      Dishonourable surrendered in the only known battle he was part of not a good record.
      In his defence do he knew Oda for like 1 year he was not a follower of bushido so why would he sacrifice himself for
      Oda.
      That is one of the key issues people don’t get with the difference between a guy just working at the court - retainer and someone actually involved with Oda

      And this topic has been going on for over 10 years.

    • @_Sage967_
      @_Sage967_ 19 днів тому +1

      to be serious, the AC games adhere to history in so much that if you kill an important figure in the game, that often coincides with their known or assumed death and notable figures that dont die at the given date of a section of the game cant die there without something explaining why they apparently live past that moment.
      the AC games take advantage of the fact that we dont know everything about history to give life to a funny idea of "what if a shadow organization of assassins were influencing history the whole time?" genuin fans have always cared about the game being grounded and its historical accuracy because even if they dont know the history the level of effort to adhere to it shines in the finished product, think Avatar the Last Airbender and the various Bending forms with the martial arts eachs general demeanor and movements are based on. this is also why the MCs are never historical figures because that could restrain them heavily in were they can be, what they can dand honestly it seems more interesting to give figures personalities than be the player character
      making Yasuke a Samurai is the jingling keys of that time period, the novelty that hasnt worn out especially when they could've tried for something more interesting.
      the arguments in defiance of people's criticisms boils down to "your made fiction is fiction?" and like... no, it's that AC isnt being AC... the GOOD AC
      there's also the element of cultural representation if you wanna go that route because it's an objective fact that the AC games steep themselves in the culture of their locations and having a native pass judgment on their own is just more fitting. Nioh made more sense because the figure integrated further into the culture and also there were DEMONS

      @@_Sage967_ Honestly.. all I see here is your opinion... The japanese THEMSELVES have portrayed Yasuke as a samurai... He is pretty much a folklore character at this point... They are the ones who created the "myth" and when you look at it it is more accurate than say the borgia pope being a templar ( after the templar trials )
      Yasuke was allowed to carry weapons and given a home... He was allowed to walk freely around town with his own attendant... Rumours even started Oda could make him tono ( Lord )
      He sometimes carried Oda's weapons which would be a great honour and was done by samurai.. He was either Bushi or Kosho which even if technically not samurai would be very close ( also the word samurai wasn't as commonly used at that point ) He fought alongside Oda and later his son in their final battle and historians say he might have been involved in more battle...
      My question is.. So it's just not ok to make a game about Yasuke? Let's be honest it doesn't matter if it's an AC game or not... you lot would have hated any game about Yasuke at this point.... smh
