I just wanted to say that I was very impressed with this young man's ability to speak so clearly and to articulate so intelligently which is so rare to see amongst the other UA-camrs, that I just had to subscribe and comment. Great job! I will definitely be recommending you to others!
👍 Agreed
We had some bad neighbors moved next door, and we got scared, so we bought a security system and my husband promised he would set it up and then the bad neighbors went to jail so the system sat for 4 years. My husband said we didn't need it anymore, so I started watching a bunch of videos and none of them were helpful, but yours made sense. Thank you so much. You should be a teacher because you are a natural teacher.
Wow!
If this guy was my high school teacher I would get all "A's". He is so detailed and thorough. He just assumes we know nothing...that is what a good teacher should assume. Great job! 👏👏👏
I have always wanted to go into this business and I don't know how to do it, I have spent time on UA-cam to learn how to do it myself and I can tell you that, this video is just the best of all, thanks
I love that you post the timeline so that we can just get to the part that we want. Well done, and thank you!
you're welcome
One of the most comprehensive and user-friendly tutorials I've seen, EXEMPLARY!
How do i reset my system to default setting . I messed up putting in my password now i dont know what it is
Wow this video is insanely helpful. I mean, there are few words to describe how precise this video is. Extremely helpful and to the point. Guy even has the decency to point you to different parts of the video to skip any parts you feel are not applicable to your circumstances.
Pretty much EVERYTHING is covered - in the most basic and well communicated way. Very articulate and excellent communication. No question this guy has the communication skills to be a spokesman. Well presented! A+!
You were GREAT on the whole instruction. I finally got my camera going after 3 months.
You are a Good instructor explaining every word of information with clear Good English Voice.
Thank you.
Probably one of the best instructional videos I've watched. Very helpful and not a wasted moment.
This is a clear and detailed explanation on how and why to install a surveillance system, it save me time and money. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
i just spent 1 hour watching 6 different videos and yours is the only helpful one.
That's great bro, thanks. I like to make my videos with the viewers interest in mind.

i agree
I spend more than 2 hours and his is succint
I spend a couple weeks watching security system videos and more than half of my questions were not answered. This is the only video I'm going to be learning anything from. This is absolutely the most thorough detailed video on UA-cam with regard to security surveillance systems! Thank you so much Dr Security!
Thanks Arlene glad my video was a big help to you.
Extremely thorough video. He covered everything. A lot of people could learn from this. My compliments.
its the best video on the web for a layman to understand home/office security systems, types of cameras and nice tips.really informative and educative at the same time.
Honestly you set this video up so perfect brother. I felt like I was in school but enjoying it lol keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I have spent days and numerous emails to the company that I purchased my surveillance system from with no answers (since my system didn't come with an instruction guide). This video helped so much and now my daughter and grandson feels alot safer!
best info vid ive found! made with those who will be doing everything in mind and not a "well you know what all this is... blah blah blah"
you answered all my questions in one go, and answered ones i didnt realise i had! lol im so very glad i found this
many thanks 😊
Thanks! I know exactly how you feel. I've been through many so called tutorials like that where they talk to you like you already know and are reminding you. Makes no sense
@@ToolCraze please you did a good job here but when you talked about the power source for the camera I missed it. question ' the camera doesn't need a power source on its own but its fed by the DVR? thanks for your patient.
@@ToolCraze What devices is this video available on?!
This video has been reuploaded here: ua-cam.com/video/601i0tIMzIE/v-deo.html
I did a small edit within the video and since then it doesn't play anymore, bummer so I had to re upload again
Lesson, don't ever trim or edit your video in the UA-cam Editor otherwise you'll break your video
Sounds like a real professional that actually knows what he's talking about
Thanks very much Bro this made me realize how important it to install cctv cameras in working areas and how easy it is to install them. Good job Bro.
Thanks for taking the time to share your video on youtube. It is far the best I have seen so far especially for the DIY
J-dog. I am so glad you did this video. I haven't watch the whole thing yet but I will. I have been considering one of these for along time.
+Brien glad it could help, just don't make the mistake I did and get one after you end up with an incident where you wished you had it already. I was thinking about one for a few months when my car got vandalized. I got one set up right after but but it did me no good on that prior incident since it already happened. The goofs that messed up my car got away clean.
Awesome awesome video. When I am ready to purchase one I will make sure to use your link. Thanks again!
+Brien thanks Brien, sounds good!
Best instruction video of all. Clear and simple English! Thank you so much!
Nicely done! Informative videos like this help DIY folks (or wanna-be DIY'ers) lead a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Your technical knowledge, command of the language, and upbeat attitude make for very watchable & useful learning experiences. Again, thanks. :)
I would like to see as of today’s date 998 people have the courage and knowledge to do a better job than this young man did. Good job my man. Thanks for being direct and to the point. You provide so much information without the need to put others down or criticizing them. Unlike so many others that brag so much about how great their install was and put down all of the other installs. I’m certain so much more and I’m confident you always provide the information. When a person does a great job others will notice and do the bragging about you for you. Stay humble and I wish the best for you in your endeavors.
Best regards
Jaime
Thank you for the kind words!
Dam bro very good video im going to install a camera system in my brother in laws office and everything i needed to know i got from your video thank you
Best "how to install a security surveillance system" video on UA-cam 10 out of 10
Bruh... That was a very clear understanding most thorough and straight-forward explanation of not only how to properly set up a surveillance camera system, but also the reasoning behind the importance of each aspect of each feature in surveillance cameras.
Real talk though, this an extremely well put video. bro got feelin like an expert on the topic after watching this just one time n shit foreal. great job carnal 🤝
this was very helpful! thanks a lot for your time
thanks for watching!
Completely agree with the rest of people. This video is to the point, it does actually help and it was made buy knowledgable and professional person. My question is: "What brand or package would you recommend in general"? Or should we assume that ZMODO is it since you have it in your video. Thanks
I tend to go with zmodo because it's a brand I've used before and have good experiences with their products so I trust them. Also because they are usually less expensive than other brands.
I've tried more expensive brands like swann, night owl and you pay more but you don't get more. So with all things equal why pay more?
With that said you can go with any brand you want really
As for systems, I would lean towards ip cameras and nvr system, preferably with PoE. Prices on ip cameras nvr systems have come down so much, it's almost pointless to go with an analog cameras dvr system.
Buy your system as a complete kit to save they most 💰.
Best informative video on the web. Thanks.
All I can say is Thank You Man. I could literally be a security systems install tech from watching this video. Pro tips and all.
Great video all the way around. I normally don't post comments but really enjoyed the why, components, and actual install of system breakout. One of a few channels I've actually subscribed to. keep up the good work!
Already 3 years and your video and information continue to be useful, thank you I hope successes in your life!
Glad it was helpful!
This guy explained everything you need to know about security cameras, now I am an expert guys

I express my gratitude for the video, your suggestions are helpful, including to mention cable wires and a coax cable bushing. I was aware of these items, but I did not learn their names, so I give my thanks for this information.
Pat on your back for your excellent instructions.
thanks!
Wow a security camera video without the macho posturing and the unnecessary security jargon.Very informative and helpful.Thanks.
Great video explaining everything i needed to know before choosing a system, cheers
I am using this video to help my dad with his camera set up issues. He has everything set up physically, installing the cameras and box, now it is just setting up the programs to start recording, to save it all in an account and send to the phone via app. How is this all done? Would be nice to have visuals of that process. This video still helps with the basics, but I need details.
Finally, a video that is usable. Thanks.
I want to apply for a job as a security camera installer, but I have no experience at all. Watching this video makes me feel like I know what to do. Very informative and easy to understand. Thanks man, here's hoping I get that job :)
What a great job on setting a system up my good sir. At first I was like “ this vato loco is gonna teach me how to disable video surveillance cameras “ then I listened and learned! Fantastic presentation homie!
lol enjoyed your comment!
I usually don't leave comments but this guy really deserve one, great video and very helpful!!!
I really needed to see this video, a client wants me to install a surveillance system in his office and I'm a computer engineer, not audio or video technician, but it looks pretty easy and almost the same thing as a network installation. are there water proof ip cameras? he wants a couple of them out of his building. Great video, my friend. Sorry for my English.
+Lt. Albert thanks Albert and your English seems fine to me. The setup is very straightforward, and yes the ip cameras are just like a network install. I don't know about waterproof surveillance cameras but many are outdoor rated and can withstand weather like ice snow and rain making them water resistant. All the cameras I've setup are outdoor cameras so they can withstand the elements even though I installed all of them indoors. But I'll be installing some outdoors soon
+Lt. Albert also forgot to mention that the ip cameras install just like a network system if they have PoE. If they don't, you'll have to run an additional power cable with each camera.
how did that install from 4 years ago go bud?
Well done Javier! I had skipped this one when you originallh posted it, but now that i am looking into a camera system, i went back to it. Having looked at several other videos on home security systems, I feel most informed after viewing yours. Very well done as always!
Thanks Wild Goose! This video holds up well even after a few years
This video is really good and informative! Great job bro!
thanks, glad you liked it
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL!! Teaching as teaching should be: to the point, articulate, calm, good pace, show-and-tell, and sampling the product (in this case, how you added clips of the surveillance views into the tutorial: well done!). Keep up the good work, Buddy!
Lets giv our brother 1m views.
Thanks for discussing the power cables. I have watched several videos and read online docs but was still confused on how they get connected at the main box. Your illustration of the pigtail plugs was extremely helpful.
I have all the info I need to answer any interview questions on surveillance installation with cameras. thanks
I will like to study more about security camera surveillance and their application and installation.
You are awesome
nice and I like the 100 pesos bill. Thanks
under the glass on the desk, R.D. peso?
100 and 50 pesos bills, those are mexican monetary coin
I looked around and found a bunch of BS! For how to install or learn about surveillance cameras. This one is the most helpful. Thanks man! I found nothing but English accents.. Murica
thanks bro
+Jorge Forero thanks for the support!

Tool Craze x
Tool Craze would you be willing to sell your old DVR and cameras for $20?
This video was great for me and any novice. It prevented double and unforeseen steps and circumstances. I really like his approach and the clear steps.
Well done video my friend.
Best tutorial i have ever watch. Simple and Easy to understand. Best for beginners. Thumps up !!
Verrg good looking forward doing this myself.
Great guide,he did not stutter once, verry impressed, wounder what other things this young man can teach us
Great tutorial!!!
+levitgee awesome!
First video i have watched on the topic but already I can attest that this has to be one of, if not, the most informative of all. Thank you for the brilliant presentation!
Great job!
Very simple explanation covering all aspects of installing a cctv. System Many thanks
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Great job. Like it. very helpful.
I'm in the ip/CCTV installation business and I learned from this video
are you indian?
"When I say anywhere, i mean everywhere!" lol
And any place
@@ToolCraze
And when you any place, certainly also mean every place
lol it was a joke
Very well done my friend.....you have answered many questions that we would need to know about installing a wired system.
glad it helped you out. Thanks for watching!
best video on the net!!!
You are totally the best out when it come to information and installation. My question to anyone out there is do you have to go through the attic? Can you have the cables run down the wall and go under the house through a vent?
you can go through the attic but this video shows you that you don't have to. The office I installed it in didn't have an attic and just ran the cables along the walls. This is the easiest method but you can see the cables the whole way. But it would probably be better if you do run them through the attic for less clutter, also better looking if you run the cables in the wall
Thank you so much for your quick response
good job!
Nicely done, very informative video, thank you for sharing.
Excellent!!
Wowww! That was the best tutorial video I've ever watched. Straight to the point, very detailed, and very informative. I feel more confident now trying to tackle this project on my own, and hope I'm successful installing it this week. The only difference is mine is a Night Owl 8 channel AHD7-841 system, and I plan to try and run my wires behind the wall. Yikes! Thanks for giving me a starting point, and a boost of confidence!
Thanks Rudy. This how to video applies to all dvr nvr systems. I've tried several brands including Night Owl (that was actually the previous brand DVR that I installed at this office before the owner decided to upgrade to a unit with more channels and cameras) and they all have the same functionality. You've tried one, you've tried them all. Only differences are cosmetic differences in their menu's but still have the same functionality.
You'll do fine if you follow the steps in this video
OK great and thanks again👍. I plan to tackle this install next week😨😥🙏
Welldone
thank you for having the skip to sections. very helpful video.
you're welcome
“Low quality cheap chinese junk” 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for this informative video. I didn't realize how much was involved in setting up a security system.
you're welcome, it's pretty easy.
Are you single?
Great video
Specific, clear but comprehensive, covering many aspects. Really helpful.
very Good presentation , however I have two questions if u can certify it.
1. how long can the Ethernet cable run ?
2. can NVR be a standalone, where it is not connected to another extenal network?
thanks,
1. Ethernet cables can do long runs but I'm not sure exactly what the limit is, you'll have to google that one. The most likely answer is you'll be fine unless you need extreme lengths
2. depends on the NVR, if it has ethernet jacks on the back for each camera such as the NVR installed in this video then yes it will be standalone. If it does not have ethernet jacks for the cameras, then no it will not be a standalone system and it will require a router or network switch to act as a middle man between the cameras and the NVR.
THANK YOU , YOUR VIDEO HAS BEEN SO VERY HELPFUL . ON YOUR NEXT VIDEO CAN YOU SHOW OR TELL EVERYONE IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM WITHOUT A AUDIO CABLE ON THE CAMERA WIRE , CAN AUDIO BE ADD WITH OUT BUYING A DIFFERENT CAMERA .
Best video, BY FAR, that I've seen on video surveillance installation.
Great video.. Clear & concise without bogging down in too much detail.. Great overview!
Thanks for this. I have a good understanding now. Great job explaining it all.
Man thank goodness I clicked on your video. U saved me a reserch hunt. Evrthing I looked up showed me the best security camras for 2019-2020 some w subscription R U kidding me😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😤😤😤😤😤
Excellent video very information I am a retired electric. You did a very good job explaining things for the DIY person. There so much that people don’t understand. My thank you for taking the time to explain everything as simple as you did. Sad to say but in today would the video camera is becoming a part of new home being built just as the door bell did years ago and the alarm did . Thank you for taking the time to make a great video to help others understand and how to use some of the old things you have around the house like the old computer monitor. As very seldom keep or monitored on just the brain and the dvr. Until we need to see if something happens be something is missing.
Thank again. Viewer please check in the sound recording in your sate .
That was a great video and explained a lot that I did not understand. Thank you.
This video is perfect. Thank you so much. I'm checking out your other content.
Great video instructions. This is just what I was looking for after watching a dozen others.
😎
Good video. Use a grounding bracelet/strap when installing hard drive or solid state drive
Thanks, anti static strap not necessary for changing out a hard drive.
Good information, thanks a bunch 🙏🏼. Wiring estimates for my 8 camera system came out between 600-1200$, as much and over the system cost itself 😐.
Can you use your laptop screen to be the monitor? I only have laptops in my household.
If you have a means to connect directly for use as a monitor, yes. If not, only remote viewing via the bundled software
I took time watch lots of videos on how to install surveillance cameras, yours is to clear, in other words, so helpful
Very nice tutorial. Thank you.
It's better to add a new system to your old one (you'll get 4+8 cams), instead totally replacing it.
The video is so good and teaches you very well thank you sir
Outstanding detailed instructions. Worth the watch and tips.
Great video bro. Very informative. I thought i was not going to watch the whole 26minutes of the video But before i knew it was over.
Congrats for being the first person to complete the video to the end!
this is the best help video about CCTV installation, which I have watched so far.
Excellent, Thanks so much. Very clear and complete. I need this system for a new house. I'll click through your products. Thanks again.
Excellent video, very well explained everything, only needed the explanation of how to connect the audio in the cameras with Bnc
bnc only carries video signal, the audio cable is just a regular RCA cable connection like the ones found on old tv sets, pretty straight forward connection
