Im not even going to deny what Taishakuten did is messed up, but if you really watch the whole story, even the after story where SPOILER ( Asura rewrite history making Taishakuten the hero and erase his memorries of himself so that Taishakuten wont be sad.) From this, we can see both of them are mess up, they have misscommunication issues, twisted view on love, BUT, thats what suited them both. They are so compatible and love each other so much platonic or not, but they do, and this is what makes it hurt so much. Yes, as spectator, we can say anything, but, the creators makes them both two of each heart. They are literally are made for each other, so even when they have twisted sence of love, its okay since both of them can accept that about each other.
Where can I watch all of them?
But still they do not have a happy ending in the end then.. Right?!! What that's not fair..
@@butterbubble1190 i dont know if they even write an after story of if they ever meet again, the ending line is pretty much an open ending where, Asura says he is going to his heart, in which, Taishakuten, so maybe they meet later on, but by then, Taishakuten wont remember him, but i did hear that later on, Taishakuten did feels deeply that he is missing something, since technically he did give Asura his spirit/heart/dont know what it is, but he did know he is missing someone at least
Ultimately though, isn't this all part of Taishakuten's plans? For Asura to overthrow his tyrannical ruling and have him deemed as the hero? It was revealed in the second CG of Asura and Taishakuten; but I don't play the game nor do I have an in-depth understanding of the lore so I'm not too sure on this

Asura did defeat him, but once he found Taishakuten plan, he rescued the world and basically reform the world back with all the dead people, friends n family of Tashakuten that died in the war with the demon, rewrite history, and recover Taishakuten. Then, he meet with him and as he talk with him, Asura delete Taishakuten memorries of him. Rewrite history and making Taishakuten as the hero that save the world. And reference to my original comment.
It is sad, I think genuinely Taishakuten feels that making Asura as the hero or being more powerful is what Asura wants and wish. Meaning his good intention is basically paving the hell road for Asura, even when he wholeheartely love Asura, thats why both of them has so many miscommunication resulting in this disaster.

Actually taishakuten is doing this all so that he could prove that asura is the true hero, so he is destroying his own image for him, and stabbed him because he knew that he'll be stronger as an enemy and will eradicate injustice, though it will make taishakuten look bad, so yeah basically he doesn't care about himself and only wants asura to be the true hero

@@marydizzycat lol if Taisha told Ashura abt his plan, he 100% sure Ashura wouldn’t agree and let Taisha sacrificed himself like that. Taisha knew that so he did all of this shit on his own and made Ashura hated him as much as possible (but failed so much since he underestimated how important he was to Ashura) and Ashura at that time was every rash and immature as he is now after knowing what Taisha had done for him.

Ashura really loves Taisha too much to the point he rewrote history and gave Taisha all the glory and love from people which Ashura thought Taisha deserved. He erased Taisha’s memories and all his sufferings that had leaded Taishe making all of this decisions rn. He also carried all Taisha’s sins and burdens, became the God of destruction, absorbed all the evil things and sealed himself in abyss. But ofc since he’s possessive (from his official profile from the dev) as if he would let Taisha go, even sealed in the darkness he still longed for Taisha and would one day met him again (and they did)

When I found out about their hearts, then rewatched this scene where Taisha is basically cradling his heart when he calls out to Ashura and realized that's they're connection!!! OMG! Ashura had the strongest body and Taisha gave him his stronger heart and all these sacrificed "weak" officials thrown into the abyss - he basically tried his best to make Ashura The Strongest and The Best and also gave him minions for his army to storm the heavens! These two! Just be happy together please!

[Wall of text. Spoiler alert]
Summary can't fully cover up everything but I'll try my best. Ok so there are 3 grand arcs:
EDIT: god it's been like more than 2 yrs and many Orochi related stuffs in the first arc have been rectconned, susabi and miketsu is considered parts of the main plot line now. Tamagahara arc is a flailing uhh something, ugh. so im not summarizing until it's done for real
1. Orochi's awakening. It's 3 years ago so I'm a bit rusty, correct me if i'm wrong.
You begin the game with Seimei, who lost his memory for unknown reason, along side Kagura, a small girl who also have no memory but she follows Seimei around. They solve some mysteries around them, try to find their memory, team up with Minamoto no Hiromasa, a noble who claim Kagura his younger sister, and Yao Bikuni, 800 years old mysterious lady. Most of the first arc are available as ingame exploration stories that you can read at any time.
Things start to reveal abt some Dark Seimei and his conspiracy of awakening Orochi. And at a point Yao Bikuni betrays us bc she's tired of living and wants Seimei to kill her. But they get back together anyway lol.
At the end of this arc, these thing are revealed:
- Orochi is a god that was bannished a long time a ago bc other gods at Takamagahara deemed his interest in humanity to be ill-intentioned. The Minamoto clan found him and start to worship him, feed him tons of miko to gain power in return. Orochi absorb these ugliness and become real evil, he find way to escape. This went on for hundreds year.
(Okay this is the part i don't rmb much, take this as a grain of salt)👇
- Minamoto no Yorimitsu, however, despise the elders in the clan for this and try to stop it by using Kagura (Hiromasa and Kagura are brother ad sister, and Yorimitsu is like, their cousin) as a mean of purification. Seimei, a well-known onmyoji at that time, opposed Yori's plan but got questioned abt how he turned a blind eye on previous miko sacrifices. Seimei, decided that he have the evil part inside, used a fobidden spell to seperate two part of him, the evil one became Dark Seimei. He lost his memory after this.
- Kagura didn't survive the ritual, the current Kagura is the embodiment of goodness in those sacrificed miko, while evilness turn into the Miko Orochi (called Moan stage ingame)
Anyway, in the end, they are able the seal Orochi the snake, but Orochi the god run free.
*An important sub-plotline in this arc:
Tamamo no Mae's story and how he burned up Heian-kyo in revenge for his dead kids (see Tamamo no Mae memory scrolls for details)
-> resulted in Yorimitsu's hatred for demons bc his family members were lost in the fire (i don't really rmb if this counts as official plot or just musical plot, but it makes sense so i put it here)
-> Yorimitsu later conquered Mt Ooe, which ruled by Shuten Douji, and cut off the demon king head but his best boyfriends Ibaraki stole it back and revived him, unfortunately Shuten lost his memory. Meanwhile Onikiri, Yorimitsu's sword shikigami, found out the horrible truth abt his master (see Onikiri memory scrolls for details)
*Some other sub-plotlines, but not as important:
- The past of Seimei and Kohaku, his first shikigami (see Hakuzosu memory srcoll videos and CG)
- The past of Hiromasa and Ootengu, Dark Seimei's shikigami (they were bros)
- Yotohime past at Minamoto clan, she later became Seimei's shikigami.

2. Ootakemaru invasion. Start with Ootake's debut but you can count SP Hanya's event as the prologue to this.
Ootake wage war on Heian-kyo to restore the spiritual life force for his hometown. He needs to conquer 6 places in total to activate the magic circle absorbing the life force. The 6 places in order are:
- Arakawa the river: home to his first and only friend Lord Arakawa and many other river spirit. They fight and there are lots of angst. Arakawa sacrifices himself to buy time so his people can runaway and seal the checkpoint in his realm. Kingyo Hime, a spirit at Arakawa river who has great ambition, was given the Lord title to guide the spirit. She grows up through this hardship.

- Mt Septem, Mt Gloom, Omnious Land: Ootake conquers these place with ease, the process is omitted. Meanwhile, Seimei and his gang come to Castle of the Sun to find a half of Ungaikyo, which can help them fight Ootake (see Takiyasha Hime CG and Castle of the Sun event story for details). Tamamo no Mae go find the other half.
- Mt Ooe: the spirits unite with Minamoto troops lead by Yorimitsu and fight against their shared enemy, Ootakemaru. Shuten restores his memory and Onikiri dies in the process (see War of Mt Ooe for details)
- Heian-kyo: Seimei use Ungaikyo to create a mirror version of the city, while others go break the checkpoints Ootake left in 5 previous places. Although Ootake falls for the mirror trick, he eventually decides to reactivate 5 checkpoint, which would cost him his life bc they are shut dowm once and the one in Arakawa river is hidden inside SP Arakawa's realm. Ootake's minion, Uminari, stop him from doing this bc there's no point, they are unable to restore Mt Suzuka anyway and he lied to his master so Ootake would go conquer other places. Ootake regrets his action, uses his life to restore Heian-kyo life force and dies.

- Aftermath: Kingyo Hime leaves for a sea voyage to find way of reviving Lord Arakawa (see Distant Voyage event story for details)

Kidomaru and Enmusubi stories are transition between arc 2 and 3 (see Kidomaru CG and memory scrolls videos, Handscroll of Demon Parade event story, Enmusubi CG, Bonded with you event story for details)
SP Aoandon is the prologue to arc 3 (see Heian-kyo Agency event story for details)
3. Clean Ungaikyo shards
Turn out Ungaikyo is part of Orochi's plan of destroy the world. He destroy Mt Suzuka so Ootake would wage war on Heian-kyo and Seimei has to bring Ungaikyo home. Seimei finds out this truth so he break it and gives its shards to his team and they help him purify it (see Demoniac Feast event story and CG for details):
(- Sub-plot: Orochi gave Kiyo Hime, a betrayed-by-love spirit, some power and she went rampage. See SP Koyo Hime memory scrolls videos and Bound by love event story for details)
- Fujiwara no Michitsuna, an onmyoji we met at Castle of the Sun, along with Hiromasa and Kagura go to Itsukushima to find Kinnara who can help them clean the shard (see Kinnara CG and event story for details)
- Suzuka Gozen, Ootake's adoptive older sister, return from a journey only to find out the shocking news of what happened in arc 2. She gathers Ootake's minion and sails back to Mt Suzuka, solves some family business. And then to Eternal Sea, solve some family business. The shards is purified and Yao Bikuni is released from the curse of living forever in the process (see SP Ootake CG, Journey Home event story and CG, Senhime memory scroll videos and CG for details)
- (**) Yamakaze go find Kaoru, who went missing after a battle in arc 2. His old enemies receives power Orochi and collide their past with the present, hoping to change it. They solve this out and clean the shard (see Windy Forest event story for details)
(- Sub-plot: Higanbana gain some power, Shuten and Ibaraki encounter her on the way cleaning the shard they receive. See Underworld Blossom event story for details)
(- Sub-plot: Tamamo stops by Yuki Onna's, a shikigami of Dark Seimei, hometown on the way cleaning the shard. Some of her past with Seimei before the split revealed. This is more of a filler, see Snow Sakura Fest for details)
- The city of Celestials and the Abyss beneath it, where Orochi dump the life force he suck out of Heian-kyo and Mt Suzuka down and the place Shuten, Ibaraki, Yorimitsu, Onikiri, Tamomo and Seimei all aiming for. This part is enormous so read and watch these in order:
• Abyss Shadow event story (prologue)
• Taisakuten CG
• Taisakuten memory scroll videos
• Lotus Crown event story
• Asura memory scrolls videos
• Return of Mara event story
• Asura CG

Ashura didn’t even want to kill Taisha lol he said himself that he wanted to destroy Taisha’s “perfect world” and know the reason why Taisha betrayed him (all of this are in the game). Ashura even said he believed Taisha hasn’t changed, he must have his reason for all of the stuff he did.

I fail to understand how people don't see how much Taishakuten is twisted, this man is what you call a psychopath. What he feels for Ashura is not love and everything he has done was not "for Ashura". That does not mean he is evil, his logic is twisted, everything about him is twisted and I don't understand how people can't see it.

I did read the story from start to finish (well if it is the end *no spoil*) not entirely but enough to have a good picture of the character. I don't even need to go into the details to understand what really motivate Taishakuten. And that is not love, well, at least not love in a common way. A person with psychopathic traits can feel love but not like a neurotypical person, won't express it like a normal person and it's very recognizable and characteristic.

Funny you are the one saying that in this context. I see him the way he is and not the way he is presented (his story with Ashura). The context of his relation with Ashura hide a big part of him, the part that we only see when he is not with Ashura or not thinking about Ashura. And because most spectators may be swept by his storyline of "self sacrifice" they only see what they want to see "An idealized character, fighting in secret and sacrificing himself for his one and only love" going to such lenght as to give him a part of himself (I don't want to spoil much). Seeing only that is failing to see everything else about this character or just denying it to only see the pretty. Which is often the case and that is normal, people don't want to remember the ugly part when linking a character. But like that you can't see the character as a whole. In the end for the spectator there are no real secrets about what he wants to do the story reveals it pretty clearly, so.
@@Yue117 It's true that Taisha is twisted, but it doesn't render his character down to a pure psychopath. I admit that there are people who fail to see how twisted is he, but similar to them, you fail to see half of who he is by saying what he feels for Ashura is not love and everything he has done wasn't for Asura. He does have affections toward Asura, his plan of bring peace revolves around making Asura the ultimate hero, and it's not bc Asura is a strong guy that fit Taisha's hero checklist.
Idk how much did you read but the part where Asura calm Taisha on the way climbing up in Lotus Crown pretty much reveals how emotionally important is Asura to his mentality. That's where we see his true wishes (that he can't acknowledge himself). What Taisha longs for isn't just eternal peace, he can't never be fulfilled with only his goal achieved. As a person, he desperately needs to be recognized by his people, his goverment, his family; be forgiven by his comrades who died on his behalf, by the rest of the Wings and Asura who he betrayed (note how Asura included himself and the Wings in the wake up part, they have no reason to tell Taisha to leave behind his sin since he hasn't done anything sinful to them in this dream realm -> Taisha's dream realm, although fixing up some events, subconciously acknowledge that his betrayal happened, and thus manifest the need of forgiveness from Asura and the rest of the Wings, result in Asura respond to it).
Asura is the one telling him all of these bc there's no other person can fit this role, not a single one. From the momment he appeared in this life, literally nobody need him until he met Asura. Then he had to depend on Asura to feel useful at all. Even with that, even with Asura being both helpful and not for his existential crisis, he specifically needs words of comfort from Asura, bc: 1. nobody else care for him enough to tell him, this is his only choice and 2. of all people, Asura would soothe him the most since his biggest sin is betraying Asura (quote: "My life-long wish has turned into the sin of my life"). With Asura being the first person to tell him that he can leave his sin behind and then confirm everybody would tell him the same thing, he will believe it to be that way.
Note how Asura started off with "us leaving this place" but then he gradually focus on what await for Taisha when they get out -> Asura gradually let Taisha be more "selfish". The CG, memory scrolls and all, make Taisha seem like a person that doesn't care for a bit of himself, while in this they reveal bc of that, deep down he's already broken, completely engulfed in despair to the point of escaping reality for a way to feel being accepted. Although he try to, his mentality isn't really able to withstand all the suffer and sacrifice for a greater good just to be seen as a sinner.
(And this is why Asura decided to do what he do in the end. Asura said these words to Taisha one more time, as a remind to Taisha abt what he truly wanted)
