I owned the exact same vehicle from 1987-1995. Best car ever! If I win the lottery, I'll come and get this one.

FANTASTIC car. I don't know if Buick ever built their own motors, but I seem to remember a distinct "growl," if you will, that only Buick motors had. I also loved hearing the transmission belt whine through every gear shift, which I remember being very characteristic of both Buick and Pontiac of this time period. What I don't get about G.M is why they would make such a decked-out LeSabre (stunning as it is) when a person could upgrade to a Park Avenue and get exactly the same calibre of car for probably less money. I mean, a lot of what went into these special edition LeSabres was stuff that was already included in the Park Avenue, so what was the point? LOL

Buick made their own V8, and Land Rover use them util 2004. There's aftermarket parts for them. So you can easily build a good 80s Buick 350 with aluminum heads, multiport fuel injection and all the modern goodies that actually exist.

I bought my 1984 (Olympic Editions, all!) Buick LeSabre Limited Coupe with 64,456 miles from Copart in Des Moines, Iowa. It was a barn-storage deal that had not been driven for 16 years. Cool thing; no rodent damage at all. I paid $1,950 for it and the transporter was offered up to $10,000 as it was delivered cross country to California!

Are you sure it doesn't have the Olds 307, 5 litre V8? It's my understanding that the 307 V8 was used as the 5.0 litre by Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, while the 305 V8, in those days, anyways, was used by Chevrolet and Pontiac. By the 1990 production year, as I understand it, GM had stopped making the carburated 307 V8 and so Chevrolet and Cadillac used the updated, throttle-body, fuel injected Chevy 305 V8. If Pontiac was putting a 5.0 V8 in the 1990 Firebird, as the base engine, it was, most likely, an EFI version of the 305 V8.

I thought those had the Olds 307 too. Still a 5L, but I think the Olds 307 had a tiny bit more horsepower.

You are correct. Buick used the Olds 307 in the 1985 LeSabre's. No other V8 was used for 1985.

It's in the heading above. $9,900 (507)-386-1726. In 1993, I bought a 1985 Buick Lesabre Collectors Edition and it had the most luxurious ride and people stared at you. Consumer Reports has it as one of the most trouble free cars built. You would love it. The only thing he says it has the 5.0 Chevy 305 motor. he's mistaken. Buick only used the 5.0 Oldsmobile 307 motor in the 1985 Buick LeSabre. If you buy it, you'll never regret it. Nice sporty high end luxury car for 1985.

We have this exact same model with 86k miles although CarMax indicates the odometer rolled over. Our friend gave it to us because she no longer drives. I do not know if there is a market for this kind of car. We tried to donate it last year until someone showed interest and then bailed. So we are kind of stuck with the car and not sure if it has any value. Any suggestions on how to dispose are appreciated 🙏 My friend loved this car and was hoping we'd give to a person who would appreciate it rather than a car donation non-profit.
