The whole point is fixing up these old homes and giving someone a chance to make a good life for themselves. I'm an apartment manager and that's what I tell my tenants. And my tenants by and large agree.
@@mybrotherdonnie That's why I find your videos so compelling. I don't care about how rich people live. I care about poor people having security and comfort.
Love the fact Donnie opened up the video answering the question I asked the other day & Ronnie answered my comment as well about the wall and paint.. Thanks for showing you care about your viewers!! Wake up ya'll, it's "Coffee time with Donnie & Ronnie"
When I had my house built back in 2014, I made sure that every single thing I chose inside the house (tiles, cupboards, etc...) were all something other than white, even slightly off-white was OK. Can't stand white itself. Sadly, 10yrs later, I still have some white walls, because A) I'm lazy, and B) You need to use an oil-based sealer-binder for modern house walls here in Western Australia if the walls haven't been painted before, because the white-set plaster just soaks up all the water. Once that is done, then you can use a water-based paint, and I hate the smell of oil-based paints. In the early '80s, mum decided to make the kitchen 'Canary Yellow' colour :)
@@mybrotherdonnie Yeah, it's a weird plaster that we use here in Western Australia. If you use a water based paint on it before sealing with an oil based paint, the plaster just soaks up all the water and the paint peels right off. We are pretty much the only state in Australia to use white-set plaster, but then, our houses are also double-brick. The white-set plaster is put over the top of gyprock which is put over the top of the inner brick walls.
I like what you have done. I would have made the living area an off white on the walls. But the bottom looks modern. As for the floor, you do not know how many homes I have been too, that deck has not been inspected and your eyes go right to the center where all the boards meet. Like one side will be 10ft deck boards and on the other will be 10. Instead of staggering them. Looks awful. Good job on the floor.
I've been watching Donnie and DIYfferent it's been very interesting and can't quit watching. I found a couple mobile homes for sale I bought what i thought was the best one for a rental investment and am learning so much from these channels on how to get mine to rental status if it goes well then maybe I get a 2nd one. I've already had one guy offer to buy it from me for 10k more than what i paid for it but i declined he bought the other one so now i have competition in the area. So far i put in new furnace and A/C repaired the wood stove and put in new back door, a hood range and next step is going to be the guest bathroom and I'm feeling overwhelmed for some reason there is no exhaust fan and moisture wreaked havoc in there so it's gotta be gutted to the studs for me this is gonna be a huge job and a costly one.
I think the bottom paneling would have looked nice just the way it was with a chair rail on top. If you didn’t paint the other side I’d leave it as a design feature
Yes it was. I watched the other video too. I’m new to your channel. I love home improvement. I think y’all are very generous in letting people paint the walls I don’t think I would be that generous. They can decorate with curtains and pictures for color. 😂😂

Didn’t know you need to seal it with oil base

Beautiful job guys! Im wondering if you could have matched. The strip with the floor, white or darker grey! Just me it does look very nice
Absolutely we could’ve but just remember somebody’s gonna move in there and repaint everything. That’s why we didn’t take the time to do that.
Looks good! Huge improvement over when y'all started on it.
Thanks
@@mybrotherdonnie Your welcome. Thanks for the videos.
Looks beautiful
Thanks
They make us paint all the homes we do grey and white. I thought that sounded awful but it’s really pretty.
They don’t make us paint we just do it because it’s easier to wash and clean
@@mybrotherdonnie we work for a mobile home park. Guess I should have said that.
