  • Cobb Premier (Kitchen in a box) unboxing 2019. [CC]
    Today I have got the Cobb Premier product, here I show what you get in the box with this fantastic BBQ.
    Make the most of your outdoor adventures with this compact and very capable cooking system. The one I have gone for is the traditional BBQ that takes briquettes / charcoal or the ‘Cobblestone’
    The Cobb Premier and the Pro are the most popular sellers to date, these have been part of the range for the longest. I have been using this for a few weeks now and can highly recommend this product. It gives a proper BBQ taste and is movable whilst cooking thanks to the cooking system.
    The history of the Cobb originates from Africa, specifically South Africa which originally had a very heavy ceramic base, and gained its name from using dried out corn cobs as a fuel source to cook over. Over the years this design has been refined and brings us what we have today.
    If your interested in this product check out the website which i have linked below for all the details and specifications.

    I don’t normally get excited about barbecuing but I think Jules may be able to persuade me to give it a go. Looking forward to this new series 👍🏻😄 Trev

    That looks a nice setup. Here's a top secret, everyone knows about it because I tell them.
    When you have an enclosed cooker like that with coals, if when it's ready to use you use a bit of smoking wood, oak usually, it really gets intense smoking (so long as you don't lift the lid off too often). Even something as simple as bacon is nice smoked like that.

      Thank you Rob..I’ve seen the wood for smoking and wondered if it worked 👍 I may try some..let’s see how I get on 👍

    Lots of different components to that Cobb. Looks a very decent piece of kit.
    But since I have an old gas Cadac Global, a little portable Weber lidded charcoal model, and a fan-assisted Leisurewize charcoal BBQ it would be difficult to justify ANOTHER one in the van!
    I must say that the fan assisted one has a removable fan/battery section that slots on underneath, and it has the advantage of using a really small amount of charcoal (maybe approximately the amount you could put into a pint mug, or even less) and it gets up to cooking temperature within about 5 minutes. Instant charcoal BBQ. The fan operates by batteries but also via a USB socket!
    I put half an inch of water into the stainless steel bowl so that when fat drips through the griddle/BBQ plate, it doesn't burn onto the steel bowl around the charcoal basket, but can be easily cleaned. It (the whole BBQ minus the battety/fan insert) also can be put into the dishwasher at home after the weekend if you want it cleaner than is possible "in the field".
    UNlike the Cobb & the portable Weber, it diesn't have a lid.

    Great video Jules loving the transitions, interesting product may looking at getting one of those, it Will certainly take up less space than the Cadac. How long does the charcoal last enough time to make a good sized fry up.
    Best wishes

      @HereWeTow  5 років тому

      HiJon..the coals burn at least two hours, I roasted a chicken with it and there was still more in the tank👍 It’s more compact than the Cadac but the Cadacis instant heat. I like them both and the Cobb is easier to clean 👍

      Had mine around a year now - Love it too. Having roast beef, roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding on a campsite is amazing - pudding goes on whilst eating the mains. The fuel lasts a while and you can top up. Key is having quality fuel - Weber are good are easy to find. You can pick it up and move it if you need to - the base does not get hot - at all.

    Really like this, and when you showed us it at longleat I can see how well it would work with our caravanning lifestyle, how have you found keeping it clean after quite a few meals cooked on it now? Cheers Jon

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  5 років тому

      I must say it’s easy to clean, if you buy the disposable foil liners then it’s even easier. But the good thing is you can throw it in the dishwasher when back at home if you wanted. 👍👍

    Cooked meat looks good but wonder what the difference is compared to using the griddle on cadac?

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  5 років тому

      Hi Rob, the benefits of the Cadac are the instant heat but you don’t get that real BBQ taste. The Cobb is also good as a smoker..I’ve got a few recipes to try 👍

    Is that the premier air or just the premier,Thanks Jules

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jason, its just the premier plus kit that I got. The Air has vents in the top which is probably a good feature for getting more of a draw from the charcoal or briquettes 😊

      @@HereWeTow Thanks what do you prefer,The cadac or the Cobb? Or do they both have there uses in different circumstances

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jason, the Cadac is great for straight forward plug it in, immediate heat, cook the food and eat. The Cobb is great for that real bbq taste and cooking joints in too. If I could only have one it would be cadac as its easier to use for quick cooking. 😊

      without the BBQ kit - it's an oven/stove - both very effective. With the BBQ kit - it is a proper BBQ. Together they make the Cobb shine
