Funny -the "kinda cheesy" knob to pull to empty the ashes is one of my favourite parts. It makes it SO easy to empty the ashes. Most other grills require you to open things up and get a vacuum cleaner into the unit to suck them out. This feature is pure genius. So simple and it absolutely works! (I did have an issue when that trap door thing got stuck. If that happens, just pull off the catcher cup and tap the bottom of the slide with a rubber mallet or, as I did, the rubber coated handle of a pair of pliers...) Easy. Love love love my XT-24! Also - as per the manual, there is a setting on that contoller for "pellet feed" -that would have been used to get more pellets down the auger before you started that first smoke cycle. Once you start using it, you shouldn't need that feature again until/unless you run the hopper right empty or pull out the auger for some reason.
I have fallen in love with this thing as well. Excellent smoker. I’ve used it about 3 times, and now my wife wants me to cook all the time. Best ribeyes I have ever had came of this baby. I like the ash knob as well, once I used it a little. Can’t say enough good stuff about it. I agree with you 100%. 👍
Great video, The heat deflector is a great add on by Camp Chef, I had a Pit Boss it would flameout at lower temperatures, fyi I always line the drip pan with aluminum foil, and Lowes has a good of pellets and bucket liners.
Really good video Shannon. I officially have smoker envy. Great looking equipment. We have smokers here but no pellets yet. I would have to order them from Amazon. May have to bite the bullet and get one.
Very helpful.
thank you, glad to help
