Funny (and flattering as a Reds supporter) that they chose this to be the stadium audio when they came up with the concept. The band members are/were Arsenal supporters.
Echoes, Fearless and Pillow of Winds make the Meddle one of the best rock albums ever. Great to see a young band knows this and that the crowd 52 years later knows this.
I'm 64 and couldn't agree with you more. Been digging all things Billy Strings for about three years now. Just sad I passed on the chance to see him during our last visit to the US. Maybe next Fall our paths will cross again in Northern California.
I am literally sitting here right now and I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve ever seen/heard this song covered by anybody else. Imho, I think they did a fantastic job with this!!!!! I hope you and everyone else around the world has a great Thanksgiving(even if people do not celebrate it). Now more than ever the planet needs positivity and love from every possible way!!!! Cheers, @medhead954!!!! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Billy is on a whole new level. Him, Molly Tuttle and Serria Hull are carrying the torch for real music! It warms my heart to know that real music isn't dying like I thought it was a few years ago.
I think there are always people making good new music and keeping it alive, but they are often heard only by a few. Popular music definitely goes through periods of stagnation. It is great to see the folks you mention being new, good, and popular.
Utterly delighted that this genius clearly listens to those other geniuses, the Floyd. And this is a highly complex piece. A lot of work went into this performance. Thank you, Billy.
Love how he just takes his left hand away from the neck of the guitar with the open g tuning. 😂 So cool. Whoa.. whole new respect for Billy. Fantastic rendition of a great song.
You have no idea how poetic it is to find this right now. Greww up loving Floyd. Found billy in the you tube rabbit hole years ago. Love him. Today I am fearless. And to find both my fav artists in one. Fuckin goosebumps. Such an amazing job of the song too. Today I am fearless
Best regards from Less Than Face Productions and thanks for the kind words. I can see you on Coliseum Way in Oakland, Doctor, like it was yesterday. Carrying that anvil equipment case.
The song that ignited my love for Liverpool FC. As a kid in 1971, I had no idea what the hell the chanting was at the end but I knew that whatever it was, it was for me! YNWA!
So many great covers of Pink Floyd by bluegrass artists out there. I think that’s an incredible compliment to PFs music. So versatile and stands the test of time!
Oh, I envy that you’re just hearing Billy Strings for the first time, and you get to experience what you’re going to experience as you discover one of the greatest musicians of the past decade. And once you’re in love, listen to some Molly Tuttle!
oh, nights I stayed up playing this by ear back in the day--thank you, think I can play this one, better for me, anyway now. 67-yr old mama said to her son in recovery, love you John, thank you, Jesus and LOVE YOU Billy! Your Dust in a Baggie song helped inspire him to get clean. He plays. Classic taste and Grand Master of Bluegrass--Homegrown.
Man, that was incredible musicianship! He was making that guitar sing like a banjo. Thank you for that reaction. I'm going to have to check out Billy Strings.
I have always Loved this song, glad to see it covered, your rendition is close to perfection. You say the hill's too steep to climb, chiding You say you'd like to see me try climbing You pick the place and I'll choose the time And I'll climb the hill in my own way Just wait awhile for the right day And as I rise above the tree line and the clouds I look down, hear the sound of the things you said today Fearlessly, the idiot faced the crowd, smiling Merciless, the magistrate turns 'round, frowning And who's the fool who wears the crown? Go down in your own way And every day is the right day And as you rise above the fear lines in his brow You look down, hear the sound of the faces in the crowd Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone...
@@mikeyb7263 "You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. oddly enough I am a professional stagehand and I knew the floyds version first, you can imagine my surprise when we did the show the first time and I heard this song. And I also happen to be born in Liverpool in 1963 when Gerry had his hit with this.

I know Billy started out playing metal, but i didn't expect Meddle
Lol great comment
Swing and a miss...
My favorite tune of theirs (unless maybe Echoes) from my favorite record of theirs. Awesome.
Bahahaha
In my borat voice....very nice!!!!!
Wow. Totally took me there. Unreal. This kid is a god.
You’ll Never Walk Alone if you like this song.
It is my favourite PF fact that they recorded the Kop for Fearless. Pure frission.
I'm alone all day everyday. It's my own personal karma
I see what you did there
Comon the reds

A pillow of winds is brilliant underrated track👍
@@babylemonade2868Absolutely a top song, by any band.
…and “One of these days”. The live performance for Pompeii is epic…Nick Mason was a beast!
My favorite. 💖
Beat Pink Floyd album that most have never heard of.
One of the most underrated Pink Floyd songs ever. Every time I hear this song, I'm reminded just how awesome Pink Floyd was!
Word
@@Wilber-r7rI never hear Free Four mentioned either and it’s always stood out to me like Fearless.
My favorite Floyd song.
One of the best Floyd songs and this dude fucking KILLED it!!
Murdered it you mean
My favorite song by Floyd!
I'm amazed that he covered it.
🔥🤘🏼😎♥️
Fuckin a right
Being Named Floyd at birth....I know a thing or two.....and this is the song that strings should jam ....
At 68 years old, this young fella is my new guitar hero.
And his band ain't to shabby either...

I went to UA-cam the pull me out of a deep dark hole this morning and this came up on the initial list. Praise the Holy Algorithm
It knows you and wants a piece of your mind. 😂
Amen ❤
Beautiful!! Love the range on your voice. And aspire to play the guitar like you!
Utter brilliance. No double tracking, just pure virtuosity. Billy is carrying the torch for the music of the golden age of rock.
My favorite Floyd song
Surprised this song does not get covered more often. Fearless is one of the greatest acoustic guitar rock songs ever.
SCI covers it from time to time
And not hard to sing too. Just hard to live up to the guitar execution.
yea i agree, amazing tune
You can't just get up there and do it without knowing what you're doing though.
Black Crowes did a nice cover.
Please play this when you come back to Buena Vista, Colorado this Fall! 🙏🙏🙏
Wow, this is one you never hear covered. Good stuff!

I heard the Black Crowes perform it once , but that’s it
Moe does a pretty damn good cover, too.
It is in a modified G tuning, which is a bit more obscure. If you notice at the end of this, he swaps guitars.
@@taylorfreeman5205, how can you tell. Is it the capo on the 2nd fret?
Fearless is one of the most underrated Floyd songs known to man.
Been one of my favorites since I first heard it.
Agree
queue the underrated comments. get out of here, this is a classic
one of the best
Agree!!
My favorite Pink Floyd song, and I have never heard it outside of “Meddle” . Bravo !!!
Gotta check out the Black Crowes / Magpie Salute version!
Then check out version by Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets (PF drummer solo project)
Look up "Polka Floyd"
Govt Mule too
Try Ambulance LTD’s version. Extraordinary.
Awesome song Mike….you sure captured the moment….lyrics are exceptional!!

Larkin Poe and First Aid Kit too.
Aj Lee and Blue Summit, Molly Tuttle's brother Sully, AJ Lee, Jann Purat, Scott Gates... Just as good as Billy Strings & Co.
Sierra Ferrell too
King gizzard and the lizard wizard
I never thought I would like a cover even more than Floyd
His guitar looks so unassuming, you wouldn't know it was magical.
Utterly delighted that this genius clearly listens to those other geniuses, the Floyd. And this is a highly complex piece. A lot of work went into this performance. Thank you, Billy.

Fearless with mandolin & violin breaks. 👍👍

Wow! Been listening to this album for decades and, they play it better than the legends themselves. Top one.👌
Such a Great song, Glad Billy is sharing it to a new audience
Mind blowing, Brilliant.. I expected no less from a man of such talent, and as a die hard Pink Floyd fan with a son called Floyd I love it..

Love to know the tuning here. Good Lord Almighty.
My fave Floyd song. One of their best, and Billy does it justice. So awesome!!
DAMN! He took a great song, made it his own, and crushed it. He owned this from start to finish.
