FlySky FS-i6S Transmitter and FlySky FS-iA6B Receiver Introduction

- The all new transmitter FlySky FS-i6S, together with the FS-iA6B receiver are here. FlySky will be soon releasing this 10 channel beauty to the market. Among the main features of the FlySky FS-i6S are:
Bidirectional Communication
Capable of sending and receiving data, each transmitter is capable of receiving data from temperature, altitude and many other types of sensors, servo calibration and i-BUS Support.
Multi-channel Hopping Frequency
This systems bandwidth ranges from 2.4055GHz to 2.475GHz. This band is divided into 140 channels. Each transmitter hops between 16 channels (32 for Japanese and Korean versions) in order to reduce interference from other transmitters.
Omni-directional Gain Antenna
The high-efficiency Omni-directional high gain antenna cuts down on interference, while using less power and maintaining a strong reliable connection.
Unique ID Recognition System
Each transmitter and receiver have their own unique ID. Once the transmitter and receiver have been paired ,they will only communicate with each other, preventing other systems accidentally connecting to or interfering with the system's operation.
Low Power Consumption
The system is built using highly sensitive low power consumption components, maintaining high receiver sensitivity, while consuming as little as one-tenth the power of a standard FM system, dramatically extending battery life.

I'm impressed of the very clean design, light weight, compactness , low price of this new transmitter from Flysky. Wouldn't guess they could come up with this, looking at all the 'outdated' messy design, hard to keep clean, often cheap looking, transmitters they up to now have had in their program (as several other manufacturers naturally) . One can order it in black also now (would not look dirty so quickly), and I've just got home the version with the 10 channel receiver. This is a great option if one are into RC trucks and construction machines also, where one need up to 10 channels often.

thank you very very much for this review/tutorial. I bought the Eachine Blade 185 and was confused at what to do. I put the Naze software on the drone, and put it together correct. But i was just so confused as what to do with the receiver and transmitter. The 12:15-14:25 saved me so much and thank you for that. 10/10 earned my subscription and like.

Drones Visual How do u get 10CH using the FS-iA6B. I think that receiver is only support 6CH. Or maybe to take benefit of this 10CH transmitter, u should get the i10 standart receiver.

Hello I have an S500 quadcoper I built from from a kit Im so confused on several
things. I have the apm2.8 controller and
I have the FS-i6s transmitter.
1.
I want to setup the throttle failsafe and im
using the apm planner from mission planner. Some guys set all these different values
on different channels, some guys lower the throttle trim all the way in
failsafe on the transmitter while in failsafe on mission planner and then recalibrate
the radio. I have 5 servo wires for each channel on the receiver going to the 5
channels on the receiver and those wires going to the input on the apm.

I noticed this transmitter does not have trim adjustment
for the sticks like most radios. I see in the radio menu there is a (trim) option
, so what if you’re flyng and the
quadcopter keeps banking left what do you do? . I have calibrated and
configured everything except failsafe. The copter wont arm when I try to setup
failsafe but when don’t set up failsafe in my radio and apm planner the copter
arms properly.

Hi, My left stick is sticking on the up and down action - there isn't any "spring" can you help me? It would be greatly appreciated.
Just taken delivery of the radio. Updated firmware from FlySky download page. Adjust sticks...seems busted. The sticks need adjusting but doing factory reset as you show...does nothing, also once I move the sticks to check they are "normal"- I cannot exit the page...the return arrow top left does nothing, my only option is to pull a battery out to shut down! Any ideas about a cure?
hi. if anyone has problems updating the firmware or your pc will not recognise the transmitter then try disabling your antivirus software. I needed to disable AVAST. right click on the antivirus software and select option to disable for ten mins or turn of if that is the only option. hope I have helped.

Bro my transmitter showing tx voltage like crazy. After I received my parcel, i turn it on for like 5 mins and voltage dropped from 6v to 5.60v and also it is not showing voltage constantly m, voltage fluctuation are very high. Is it normal with this tx or I received a defective product
Why does the transmitter have 10 channels, but it comes with a six channel receiver? Is there a way to add more channels?
Why doesn't FlySky website not list this product in the product lineup on their website??? The only thing I see is a banner image and that all. None manual on their website, no software updates, nothing. You have to get the manual from the Banggood website. And where is the firmware software?

I just took delivery of this radio - from BangGood.
It came with basic FW so I updated to latest version 2.0 (hardware 2.2) from FS downloads webpage.
I have the "new" menu etc,. - but when I try to use the Adjust Sticks
function.... I can move the sticks - but - once the blue indicator bars
have made full side to side movement - nothing else works and the top
left hand of menu arrow/return/back button does not work.
I have to shutdown the radio and restart . Not sure if its because of this ... but
I cannot get anything using the back Button A.
I cannot revert to any earlier Firmware - because there is none on FS downloads.
Anybody know a solution??

Hey, excellent video; very informative, and well produced! I was wondering if you could comment on the reliability of the transmitter/receiver combo. I was looking into a FRSky Taranis when I stumbled upon the FS-i6S and it seems like a much more affordable solution.
Also, if you use the PPM mode to connect the receiver to a flight controller (NAZA, or Pixhawk), can you still use one of the channels to connect directly to a gimbal or landing gear for instance?

Actually, if you bought Turnigy TGY-i6S version from hobbyking which comes with 2 receivers, you can buy a new controller board here: www.banggood.com/-p-1070068.html, and then connect it with your quad as well as your receiver. I'll test it out with my 1505.
I have the Flysky FS-i6S with a receiver, but I'm not ready for soldering yet. I did saw a video for a micro hex no soldering build, but I don't know if the receiver for that would work on my FS-i6S. Good luck and thanks for the info.

I would like to know if the firmware has been updated, from your video I am surprise there is no model memory and why are they listing this as a 6 channel when in fact it's 10? I know that it depends on the receiver and it comes with a 6 channel receiver, but you can buy the 10 channel receiver, right? Can you show us it in action while flying a quad? Give us you over all input. I think it's well worth the $60+ dollars that it cost me on Banggood, but why not more video reviews from anyone else? It seems that there are only two videos and they are all from you.
Did the next firmware fix the model memory that was missing?

I've bound the transmitter to the receiver with PPM, but when I go through the transmitter wizard in Dronin it doesn't recognise any of the inputs, any ideas? Thanks

+Drones Visual I'm using the receiver that came with the transmitter (FS-i6S). Yes I changed the output method to PPM. I have the 3 wires from the CC3D going to the 'B/VCC' pin on the receiver, in the order black, red, white (bottom to top). Thanks
+Drones Visual I've now got it working. I was using the white wire (pin 3) from the CC3D, but the default receiver is PPM on pin 8 (yellow wire). Switch them over and now all working fine.
How are you finding the FS-i6S? I've followed your mode to remove the self-centering throttle but now need to find a friction plate. Great vid on that one as well BTW.

I have experienced interference after having forgotten to turn off the WiFi in one of my SJCams with a Cheerson Cx20. I assume it could cause interfere with other 2.4Ghz systems as well. Cheers.

Nice video, but I think this product demonstrates, once again, how DJI is the masters of the RC world that many other companies have to copy their designs. It also shows how stupid we have become that none of the competition (Yuneec, Walkera, X Star, etc) can't make or design a product that has the same reliability or original design, they either have to copy (Steal) DJI's products because they don't have the intelligence to create something equally as great. An interesting upgrade for the i6, but to be honest - I think it looks awful. Reminds me of a DJI product.

+Drones Visual Yepp. It's a matter of personal taste. The white colour makes it get less hot in the sun. But on the other hand, if I would admit to ever having a Phantom once upon a time, my DJI transmitter would have stains and dirt marks all over it after some field use. ;)
(I never had any relationship with this multirotor, the DJI Phantom) ;)

Until they tighten up the crap play in the stix, I won't be purchasing anymore flysky products. Frsky taranis is the only way to go for an affordable tight system.

hello visual. I have tried to update mine it has 1.10 on it but the upgrade program will not detect the transmitter so therefore it can't be upgraded. I have tried different PC's with different usb leads and nothing works. so I am still stuck with one model. I see someone else in another video also had the same problem. what are flysky playing at.
