With this much information, they would be mad not to rebuild it. They said in the video that Leicester had lost a lot of it's medieval buildings, so here's an opportunity to bring one important building back.
This is a great video of these beautiful drawings, and how the discovery of King Richard III has spurred a global interest in the king. Behind all of this interest, is the fact that one woman named Philippa Langley actually found King Richard III. She was the FIRST and only person who had the vision, dream, and drive to try and find King Richard III, and this is exactly what she did. She was there on the first day, in the first trench, and within the first four hours, she had found the left leg bone, and then the right leg bone of King Richard III. Because of her history shaking discovery, all of this following interest came about; it is a "waterfall effect." Philippa Langley found the king, he was scientifically authenticated, and then reburied, and now all of this global interest is building and building, for any and all aspects of the life of King Richard III. Congratulation to Philippa Langley for finding King Richard III. Doctor George Whitehead
Very interesting! Like today, a good popular four star hotel/inn is due to quality management which was probably true then. There was one quick picture of a drawing that looked like a sort of timber porch upstairs front?
Great video, beautiful model, obviously many hours work went into its preparation. Hakujinjin: what makes you think the researcher would share the CAD drawings? Have there been any academic publications yet? I too would love to learn more about the project :-)
Do you realise something. How rich this noble city of Leicester will become once Richard is buried in the Cathedral. I live near Greyfriars and i can tell you now the amount of people.....
Now if they would just make a version in 1/72 or 1/100 scale I could pick up a couple for gaming. You have to admit it would be amusing. As for rebuilding it that would be even better and could function as the center piece of a really nice museum.
Don't despair, according to one archivist I know, the gloves can be just as much of a nuisance as they leave tiny, tiny fibres and pick up the 'dirt' and there is something to be said for having the oils from human hands for some things apparently!
Why are we seeing the faces of people but not the model... was it because the "model" has been financed by the company who "owns" the rights to the reconstruction of Richard III, following the excavation in the autumn of 2012? If so, please inform the public about this...
I know Joe Goddard :) Richard should be buried in Westminster Abbey next to his wife Ann Neville as far as I know it's Leicester is he is going to be buried in its confirmed
It is intellectually dishonest that every presentation from the University of Leicester on the subject of finding Richard III does not start with an acknowledgment that this would never have happened without the driving force of Philippa Langley and the Richard III Society. I understand that the University wishes to burnish its reputation at every opportunity. I think you do not realize that this glaring omission tremendously reduces the reputation of the University. Shame!
Absolutely spectacular! What a treasure those drawings are. I look forward to updates on the project.

That 3D printer would have been science fiction a few years ago. Excellent article.

When are the blueprints or cad file going to be released to the public?
Fascinating, thank you!

Ahhhh, thanks, I was curious about that issue.

Excellent article - what an impressive building.

Maybe Henry Goddard took notes because he hoped to rebuild the inn himself, or for someone else who hoped to.
Very interesting but it would have been perhaps more interesting with less talking head and more of the Blue Boar Inn itself!
windsor with his brother, and its peaceful there, in a kings tomb ,not under the ground .....
I'd go and see it and it's long distance from British Columbia!
You have a model and you have drawings - so you make a video of people's faces rather than showing them?
York unlike Leicester still has medievel buildings, oh! and while im at it Richard ought to be buried in York not Leicester.
