Seems to me like super saiyan is righteous anger in macho battles of pride (not trying to kill each other, but toying with each other and trying to wear each other down in a war of attrition and for one to defeat the other's spirit at its best to make them acknowledge that they lost and are truly inferior), while beast is pure survival instinct like emergency adrenaline in a life-or-death situation, to protect someone from being lost forever. Goku turned SS1 after already losing Krillin so the damage was already done, and Gohan likewise transformed to SS2 after Android 16 was already killed. Nobody knows what could've happened to Goku in the afterlife to achieve SS3 other than just training a lot, one can only speculate at what may have happened off-screen, just like Vegeta's achieving of SS1 and SS2.
But Gohan Beast is the first time we've seen a transformation achieved in a rush to PREVENT someone from being killed, not just a reaction after. So to frame it as really simple analogies, the fights that led to SS1 and SS2 were like arm wrestling matches with a lot of shit talking and tricks of cruelty from your opponent, while beast comes about from trying to save your child from being hit by a car or having a gun pointed to your face. Gohan transforms into beast out of human compassion for others, not the mind games of his opponent trying to break him down like SS1 and 2 (Frieza and Cell's taunting cruelty), but using the untamed unrestrained hidden monstrous animalistic fury of a parent protecting their child and loved ones before it's too late (Cell Max, an unthinking monster set to destroy/kill mode).
Your analysis of where Gohan originally gets his power boosts really put this all into perspective for me and heightened my appreciation for what Super Hero did, thank you. You deserve so many more views, you are one of the top minds of analyzing Dragon Ball from your appearances on Geekdom101.

I think when it comes to demons, generally they are associated with similar traits but toriyama due to goku's roots is likely playing on his inner monkey demon, but the fact that he comes from a family based on demons IE the ox king does suggest it has always been a major theme for Gohan.

You sound like you only read the manga and treat ONLY the manga as canon. I mean sure it's usually the manga that is the one true canon between it or its anime adaptation. With Dragon Ball Super that is clearly not the case. The anime is the true canon and the manga is on its own tangent whereever the guy (not Toriyama) goes with it. They both started at the same time, and were given general notes on what DID happen, leaving both parties to fill in the blanks themselves. Goku's trump card vs Hit was apparently one such blank. Where the anime torpedoes itself back into hype with Kaioken, the manga, who had gotten to this arc before the anime's first arc ended AND fell behind before it got to Frost's fight, torpedoed itself out of hype with the return of the red Super Saiyan God first - a literal downgrade - for the sake of some video gamey.... overt opposites/ two sides of the same coin shtick that will go on to keep rearing its ugly head in the manga in every arc. In this case, stamina conservation over Blue's heavy drain. In Zamas' arc, aside from the wildly out of character move Goku does there, now it's Red for speed, Blue for power. All this while benching Trunks like it's GT. I don't know what the case of it in the super rushed ToP arc is, and I don't want to look back into it to find out. I just know I'm gonna lose it if it has something to do with Master Roshi vs Jiren. Moro? Vegeta learns how to make his own spirit bomb by stealing the energy instead of asking for/borrowing it. Gas? Ultra Ego...... All ego and instead of dodging everything, he face tanks it all to gain more power. Notice the pattern here? It took me till Zamas' arc to see what's going on with the manga. Next time? Gonna be the opposite of something again. It doesn't exactly scream finding your own way other than Goku's way if you're just reverse-Goku at this point. Isn't he the Saiyan guy....? Like how Gohan is a student of the Demon School, which from when he was finally UNBENCHED in Cell all the way to Super Hero was completely lost to seemingly Toriyama himself.
And don't get me wrong, I never liked Gohan wearing the red gi anytime after Buu. He only wanted it to honor his dead dad he didn't know was going to come back hours later after he fucked up. Now its future appearances feel more like fan service than anything cuz that ship had sailed and he took up being Piccolo's student again, which meant he should have had the black gi, like in the manga's version of the ToP.
Plus having said all of that it would be good seeing most of Moro's arc be adapted it. And by most I hope they just double down on Moro not being able to handle the power instead of having Vegeta's one battle ever use of the reserve spirit bomb to start Moro's downfall. And for the love of FUCK spell out Goku's motives. Getting real tired of how Vegeta and Piccolo remain to be the only times Goku straight up said why he wanted them to escape. The audience needs a reminder.

For me, I currently want to where Gohan goes deep inside of his whole being and discovering more of the Beast Form’s potential and then he unlocks more power, and he gains fangs like Piccolo and small to medium length claws, similar to characters such as Inuyasha. His hair also retracts to the length of his SSJ2 hair in the Cell Games, becoming more uniform, symbolizing the mastery of the form, whereas the big hair in the initial version portrays that it’s unrefined and out of control. I would call this form “True Beast.” I also think that this form should revealed to be demonic by nature. Also Gohan would rely more on palm-heel strikes and knife-hand strikes thanks to his claws.
Calm heart awakens to rage plus s cells and where you're born n raised to be a martial artist without any evil intrusive thoughts cus your pure in spirit= the ssj transformation as for Gohan's power basically already awakened abilities plus warriors mentality with ah hint of survival instinct to boot ya see this shit really isn't an ass pull like some would straight up say as an argument in the db fandom when it's ah talking point about transformations in the west calling it "bad writing just for the sake of reasons I came up with on the spot cuz I sead so n I hate that anime you love so much stop having fun" anyways this video is proof otherwise that this isn't the case n that people on the Internet aren't reading into it the right way further more all the translation errors and dubbing only massively doesn't help fan's understand either in the long run which in return is pretty telling to say the least and shows the point that we are in the fandom right now

Why? Gohan most likely surpassed ui goku. Why would he need such weak transformation?
