THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Only when he gives a close-up of the painting, one realizes how much detail is there in the painting. At first I thought it was a photo. Amazing work.
true such detailed
In the video list of this channel, from the thumbnails it looks like a troll channel pretending to paint with photos. So amazing.
I have not seen anybody do landscapes that look more natural than yours..yours paintings are so so so natural..impossible to tell the difference!! I'm such a fan..much much love and respect from India 🤗😊
Painting is magic when there is a master who knows its recipes.
Hi michael, I am from Kerala. When I see your pictures, I am reminded of the greenery of Kerala. When I see this, it doesn't look like a painting, it looks like the original photo
so true 💯
Omg
Catias, you speak poetry! 👍😃
ସ୍ୱାଗତମ.....👍👍
Michael, you are an amazing artist.I’ve only just found your channel and after watching you for 30 minutes I am in awe at your attention to detail and the results you achieve.I now realise that patience is imperative and a good painting cannot be rushed. I am going to watch your tutorials and videos and put all your advice into practice and hopefully improve my paintings. There are some amazing artists out there and you are up there amongst the best!Well done and many thanks
nice family, I wish you happiness... thanks for video
Thank you very much for sharing.
*Glad he is now getting more exposure. He deserves more subscribers and more appreciation for such stunning paintings.*
Wow just beautiful amazing painting
So much to learn from you.. amazing u r
The only reason I attempted to oil paint was because of Michael James Smith's chill attitude and relaxed demeanour in his UA-cam videos. Other UA-cam painting instructor's tutorials made me apprehensive and edgy. Some would begin a lesson by listing ridged artistic rules (which must be adhered to or you're an abject failure), usually followed by the immense blowing of their own self-inflated pompous horns. I'd immediately become anxiety ridden and filled with the "Run Away!" feeling. MJS was/is a breath of fresh air. Every time I hear him say, "That's not a million miles away." I exhale in great relief.
I can get a little obsessive over a painting (understatement), become a bit of a 'stress monster' and I get myself wrapped around the axel fairly quickly. Michael's calm instruction pulls in the reins of the wild horses that drive me when I paint.
If you're reading this and on the fence whether or not to subscribe to MJS TV - I highly recommend that you sign up.
Micheal excels at teaching and doesn't make you feel like an unworthy troglodyte who must bow down to the master while learning. He doesn't seem to have a snobbish bone in his body. Refreshing!
PS. I'm not paid to write this, I don't know Micheal personally and I don't write positive reviews if I don't mean them. That wouldn't help anyone.
You're talking about that pompous dork with the flouncy shirt and vest aren't you. The one with the old lady's in his class all falling over themselves. Well, it's nice to see one old lady hasn't fallen for his charms. ;-)
Yes, very true, he is not pompous at all, just a master in his tecnique 🙂
Man who are you😱😱😱😱....wooooww just wow...i just searched realistic painting randomly nd found urs..nd will b checking every painting of urs 😍😍😍..love from odisha india🙏
Mr. Smith is a fantastic artist with a great talent. If you want to do this type of work you must practice, practice, practice. Don’t expect to do it the first time...just keep trying. It will come.
Amazing 🥰🥰🥰 you’re the best one 👍🏻😍😎
How kind you are to share so much of yourself, thank you.
Amazing hyperrealism with landscapes! I cant imagine how many hours he puts into it. Such unbelievable talent!

Astounding. The details are impressive. You're a master artist at work. Your techniques will help anyone create better paintings. Mastering these techniques as you have, that's another story. Thanks again for another brilliant painting demo Michael.

ua-cam.com/video/p4hIvUtZ3n4/v-deo.html
That before thing is even literally better than all the paintings that I've ever done
Master painting... Amazing
Awesome painting
It’s not just a puddle, it’s a work of art as real as you get. My mind walked over the puddles, l felt the stones, almost slipped. My shoes got soaked ( your fault, reimbursement at your discretion) and l threw my socks in the garbage as soon as l got back home. This is me “ looking INTO a painting” not at it, as we all should do. Best wishes from Brisbane.
I've seen all of his videos, some more than 5 times, it looks so simple. But when I take the brush in my hand - oh my god I'm a complete beginner :-) I tried to recreate two pictures - oh dear :-) My biggest problem is the consistency of the color!
I have a nifty technique that I use which can help you with that: ua-cam.com/video/6IPJbl_fKOg/v-deo.html&t (Hope you don't mind me linking this here, MJS)
@@tommullinerart That's not what I meant. Michael also shows the "trick" with the glass pane in a other video. My problem is the consistency of the color so that you can draw very fine lines at all. Somehow it doesn't work with thinner and / or liquin alone. Maybe I should buy better colors.
@@uwethomae4127 True,I have more types of of the same colour from student grade to artist and the consistency is much better, more fluid and more vibrant.
I am inspired by your realistic, beautiful paintings. You keep me going when I want to give up. Thank you for sharing you videos and teaching me. I’ve asked Santa for a years subscription to your videos as well. 💕
This is one of my favorites, Love rock walls ☘️
truly Painted masterfully !
Perfect as always
You zoom way in and it STILL looks photographic. What a master of textures; stone, gravel, water, leaves, depth perception... just stunning.
Thanks for all you do Your methods have brought my paintings to another level. Thanks Again....
This is absolutely true. When you started to paint I into the water, I really was expecting it to ripple, truly - the whole picture looks just so real! Could you please tell me Michael, did you wait for the painting to dry between painting the pebble layers. If not, how on earth do you stop it all going to mud. I know you use a light touch, but to me, more seems to be required. Patsy
Great watching you finish this one.
I am from Kerala. When I see your pictures, I am reminded of the greenery of Kerala. When I see this, it doesn't look like a painting, it looks like the original photo
True. Kerala ❤️

Hi Michael, I am a huge fan and am mostly so intimidated ( as well as inspired) by your precision and skill. Your art, is what I aspire to. One day, when I grow up, I want to be able to call myself an artist. Thank you for sharing it with us. I didn't think that someone with your Talent and Experience still regarded a project as a 'challenge' That is good to hear. I thought its only us beginners who see it as a challenge when you have a pretty picture and a blank canvass in front of you. Regards from Cape Town.
Thank you soooooo much, that was a great help. You're amazing 🤗
Beautiful works of true Art. Better than a photograph...Oh wait...IS THAT A PHOTOGRAPH? Fooled me. Thank you. I can only hope to get those results.
That amount of patience might make me go crazy...
Right? But I’m giving it a try. I’d love to be able to paint like this.
