This 508 and the one at 4th & Eastern are future indirect replacements for a few older sirens in the event they quit working and are unable to be repaired. But until then they will continue to run. The 508s also have battery backup which is a bonus. So in total Moore now has 44 sirens

All the sirens in the metro are controlled by the cities themselves. Though there are a few county systems in Oklahoma. Just a cool little factoid.
