  • Take a MORNING WALK with me around Sorsogon City Sorsogon Bicol Philippines. This video was filmed the day after the Grand Santacruzan 2024, so not a lot of foot traffic, but should give you an idea of how the city area looks. This city is still growing, and I look forward to coming back to see how it progresses.

Main industries include agriculture, fishing, and tourism
Known for producing copra (dried coconut meat) and abaca fiber
    Tourism:
Serves as a gateway to various natural attractions in Sorsogon Province
Notable nearby attractions include Bulusan Volcano Natural Park and whale shark watching in Donsol.
    Economic zones:
The city has been developing economic zones to attract investors and boost local employment.
    Healthcare:
Sorsogon Provincial Hospital and several private clinics serve the healthcare needs of the population.
    Natural resources:
Rich in geothermal resources, which are harnessed for power generation.
Coastal areas provide opportunities for fisheries and aquaculture.
    Environmental initiatives:
The city has been implementing programs for solid waste management and environmental protection.
    Local specialties:
Known for pili nuts, which are often made into candies and other confections.
Seafood is a significant part of the local cuisine due to its coastal location.
    Connectivity:
While I mentioned the Pan-Philippine Highway before, it's worth noting that this connectivity makes Sorsogon City an important transit point for goods and people traveling to and from the Visayas and Mindanao via roll-on/roll-off (RORO) ferry services.
