I remember the first time i heard this song, it made me cry. Israel will one day soon cry out for their redeemer. Joy will come one day for this land of turmoil.
I specifically searched for this song. First heard on one of Darrell's album's back in the day. Oh how I wish I'd kept all those Christian records from the 70's and 80's! Love this guy.
Jerusalem, oh, Jerusalem Why won't you believe in Him Don't you know Can't you see Your King is this Man from Galilee Israel, oh, Israel Who's the Messiah Can't you tell Don't you know Can't you see Your King is this Man from Galilee Jerusalem, oh, Jerusalem Why won't you believe in Him Don't you know Can't you see Your King is this Man from Galilee
Jesus all my sadness is coming back to me I remember riding through the country side weeping from mount Hermon back to Jerusalem I went to the wall yom Kippur at night Jews from all around the world surrounded me
Must have been 30 or 40 years ago. If I recall correctly, either Dinuba or Kingsburg CA in a small church. Darrell was part of a great concert, maybe with Daniel Amos or Randy Stonehill but I can't remember that detail for sure. He had a monkey mask on at the beginning of the show, eventually explaining that he wasn't related to monkeys, regardless of popular opinion to the contrary. It was a great concert!
This was originally done by a band called "Little Faith". I had it on vinyl but lost it over the years. Darrell's version is very, very similar to the original. I was stoked to find He had covered it because i I think it's impossible to find the original anymore.
Darrell you do not remember me , but we were at a calvary chapel retreat up in the big bear area around 1977 ..i think it was a christian musicians retreat from the Costa Mesa church.seems your still loving God.
Great song. I do prefer the guitar solo from the Maranatha 5 recording, as it's more of a "cry" than the later version. There was more emotion and a reaching for the higher notes, just as the lyrics are reaching for something higher. Definitely a classic.
Pray for the whole Hebrew Nation. Support the ministries that do the work of Messiah, that witness through love, Word, & Deed. Read Romans 11:31 in the AMPC. Then read Genesis to Maps to find out why. Don't be SEVERED from the ROOT, my Christian friends. Heard a big shot once tell me, "They(Jews) had their chance." Not according to John 12:39 nkjv..... it's our job to retrieve the Jews for ABBA, through JESUS, YESHUA. Time to pull in the "net" & see what we've caught. The nets are breaking, the harvest is white.
'Jerusalem' is one of Darrell Mansfield's best songs ever.Praise God. Amen
Love this song & Darrell!
JESUS STILL WEEPS OVER JERUSALEM. I KNOW, BECAUSE I CAN FEEL IT IN MY HEART. PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM... JESUS IS THEIR ONLY HOPE.
carolynne walters Israel will soon call out for their redeemer. Joy will come soon for this troubled nation.

Love this song, it was my favorite era of the Darrel Mansfield band!
What a great voice. And, a voice dedicated to God!
Blessed be the Lord, the Ancient of Days, the eternal word; The purveyor of the way, the truth, and the life.
Darrell was a genuinely polite and friendly guy when I met him at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa circa '78. Of course I brought home his album.
Just beautiful! Praise Jesus our Everlasting Father, Mighty God, Lord and Saviour!

This is off Darrell Mansfield / The Vision (1983). Great band, amazing music! I believe the 1st version was from Gentle Faith ( 1976).
I used to sing this, and it was one of the first christian songs I learned on guitar.. such a haunting tune echoing Jesus lament.
dudes got a nice voice, hitting them high notes and all...well done.
Thank You Lord for Darrell! Many he join you soon and no longer be harmed by medical vipers.. See you on the other side my brother!

Do you mean the band that he used to be with, Gentle Faith?
Darrell sang. Lead for Gentle Faith
Maybe that's why I could never find it.. I actually had it on a compilation album of several different artists. Been many, many years

Cool. Was Lorne G. there? Daniel Amos? 😊🤠😎☝️👇🎸
Great rendition of the song, Darrell's "outfit" is a bit goofy but that was the eighties.

Awesome video!!! Anybody know who is on guitar? !?
