I was pissed Spurs traded him
was really one of my favorite to go to the Heat but we got a good one too and C is more in need of ours that an F, this guy just knows how to play. He has an edge of him to play hard and has a nose for the ball. He's like a throwback player. Happy he got drafted to one of the teams I like in the East. He has a pretty good future.
@@mr.savage6671spurs were never going to draft him, the pacers traded up for the spurs pick to guarantee they got him. He was only “selected” by the spurs because all draft night trades are approved after the fact. It’s the same reason with how the pacers “drafted” kawhi leonard, the spurs told the pacers who to draft for them.

Australian players - like Dyson Daniels - are better players when they have played football as well as basketball. Similar to American players with that mix. Unfortunately alot of Australian players who are bballers don't do both. The sports season clashes with each other. Furphy's Dad and older brother played football as pro's. Anyone who knows Australian football knows its physical and aggressive
? Pretty much every kid plays football is some capacity growing up. I would argue the bball skills help in the AFL more so than the other way round.
@@dave1484 maybe. But id argue that Simmons, exum, giddey didnt play. I played so so. Mostly i played bball and football at school. Particularly on the west coast. Different skills have different application. Hand skills develop better in football due to the bounce - same as aggression

why did spurs pass on him?
The Pacers traded with them to make sure they got Furphy. The Pacers were concerned either the Spurs would take him or another team would trade up with the Spurs to get him. The Pacers should be a fantastic fit for Furphy. He fits their style perfectly.
