I think they are playing embid just because they don't want to upset him since he did choose team USA over France.
My guess is kerr will start him every game and allowed him to play many minutes when it didn't matter in the exhibition games.
But when the time comes it will be AD who will play the important minutes and more minutes when it's elimination games

We see this more often where older people are staying in power longer. Steph and LeBron, even our presidents, athletes, show host, people are just living longer and having more longevity and is creating a geriatric society where the young are suppressed by the old

You're right about that. But in the case of NBA basketball it's just true that the younger players don't match up to the previous generation of top players of the LeBron, KD, and Steph generation. At least when you are talking about US basketball.
The best USA player today that is not named KD, LeBron, steph is either AD, tatum, ant.
Ad is closer to the KD and steph generation than Tatum and ant generation.
At this very moment i don't think either Tatum or ant are better than Ad. I don't think they are better than KD.
In LeBrons case his stamina is the issue but for small sample sizes I would take him over Tatum and Ant.
Ant might not be in his prime yet and maybe Tatum isn't either but their trajectory right mow doesn't even match a james harden, Kawhi, or CP3.
So i really think this generation of basketball players for the US is just lacking

The presence of Lebron and Steph has prevented the young guys from elevating to the moment.

@airgomez83 That was our C/D squad with 1 A player(Ant). This years team would do well without Bron and Steph.

@airgomez83and they didn't play in 2021/2016 either. You know who did.
Kevin Durant. Both of them are liabilities om defense which us why their minutes have been then worse minutes for team usa.
When LeBron tries for 3-7 minutes he can still look like the best player in the world but to do that he cruises through 33-37 minutes of the game
If KD played and you take eya LeBron and steoh they would be winning more comfortably

@@Christopher._Mdude you are basing your take on generic talking points. if you’ve watched these games at all, you’d see that LeBron has been giving QUANTIFIABLY more effort on defense than in any regular season game I saw him in last year.

There's 28 other teams in the NBA and nobody is stopping any American player from stepping up to the plate. The fact of the matter is you have a bunch of foreigners at the top of the pile and they just play better and win more.

Not so much... Embiid needs to see film his size...he doesn't know his strengths...collect all the boards both defensively and offensively...I'm saying to Embiid YOU ARE THE BIG MAN...DOMINATE THE PAINT...EASY MONEY

Team USA lost in 2001, 2004, 2007. Don't act like international players have just learned to play basketball.

The other teams have nba players excuse is lame. It’s like if team USA was playing against the wizards or the hornets every game. Frankly, the other Olympic teams are probably worse than the hornets or wizards. The united states of africa team should absolutely be winning every game by 20 and it’s ridiculous that they can’t.

The notion the Lakers would be better if they added more talent assumes you'd get buy in from key players and their goal is to win championships.

Weve seen lack of balance, 2nd rate tactics, and pure ego prevent super teams winning the NBA for years now. I dont see why it should be any different in FIBA competitions either. These FIBA teams are gonna come with a rounded game plan, the right balance between stars and role players, and comittment to the cause. Thats the formula to beat a super team, and thats why I got France at home as favourites.

@@je5406Friendlies are meaningless. Teams trying out combinations, bedding in some players, recovering other guys from injury, and not giving away their tactical hand. Still time to play their way into form.

When u overintellectualize something that can be explained in simple terms it's a sign of weakness... u r trying way to hard to sound smart.
