For anyone wanting a list of tips to help make their own: - Plan things out before you build, adding and editing becomes easier later when you plan early on, before you start on the walls you should know where you want the staff area, seating, and the general shape of the building - Best two ways to build a cafe is gradual or modular. Gradual you should block out the big parts first, and then work your way down to the smaller details, and modular you should make sections of each wall at a time, then copy/paste them around and give minor edits for increased variation. - Make sure to add plenty of windows and try to stick to using lighter colours (especially on walls) to make the inside look more open. - If you want more detail in a certain area, use texture instead of many parts. - If you intend to use many unions, it may be better to convert them into meshes instead for performance - Avoid using the metal reflective material (as was used on the window frames here) if you plan to have a night time setting. - It's better to work in specific increments for an end result that's easier to edit later on, especially if you're doing this work for a client. The only time you should really use low increments like 0.001 is when you're making an illusion or when you're recreating something from the real world exactly, else you're just wasting your time for something that not many people will take notice of. - Use whatever toolbox models you want to, a lot of newer developers will scrutinize the use of free models, but as long as they haven't been stolen and reuploaded, use them. They're there and uploaded by others to help you. - Use whatever plugins/tools that you find useful, people scrutinize the use of F3X in studio and so on, but if you build well with F3X, don't feel pressured to switch when you don't have to. - Sometimes lighting can affect your build a lot, it can be more useful to set up the lighting you want first and then build in some situations, especially if you like to take advantage of color corrections. - It's ok to take inspiration from other cafes, just don't blatantly copy. Every cafe takes inspiration from the last. - Create an artboard of sorts where you compile a bunch of images that you want to draw inspiration from. Even if they're not anything to do with cafes, these can help you develop your cafes art style into something more unique. - Being in a good mood when developing can help your creativity and increases the quality of your end result. Hope this helps anyone who was watching this for inspiration.
Here's a idea for you DatBoiEle, A Cabin that's haunted Maybe put ghost and stuff in it that makes it look haunted, Also Amazing build and love your videos!
Hey! Professional builder here. I have 5 years of experience building in Roblox Studio and thought I'd stop by to just give you some constructive criticism on your building to maybe help you be more efficient, or at least be aware of the issues you might face. The biggest issue I found is that you don't use proper increments, but rather use 0.0001 and stuff. Now, don't go me wrong, not using increments is totally viable, but it's an absolute pain when you want to use something other than parts, like with wedges, or more primarily; cylinders and spheres. Obviously you have the big work arounds like GapFill and ResizeAllign (which are 2 great plugins I recommend everyone get when trying to build), but they don't help when you want to make things smooth. I genuinely recommend that for your future builds you try getting into the process of using increments like 0.05 or 0.025, that way everything can line up while still giving you all that room to put those fine details in when making whatever it is you'd want to make. As well, I really don't recommend using F3X, obviously this little tidbit is moreso my opinion, and it's dealers choice on whatever building plugin you want to use, but I do seriously recommend you look into using qCmdUtl, it's pretty much just like F3X, except its got dedicated Cut, Copy, and Duplicate buttons, as well, it has a "Scale Model" button for when you need to quickly downsize an object to like, half of what it is or so. *Again, this is just my personal opinion, so ignoring this is completely fine.* As for *factual* and *objectively necessary* habits you should get into, by far the biggest thing you could do is have the Explorer and Properties tabs open at *all* times. I mean it, it makes a world of difference, and I understand that F3X already offers some of the information, but the UI seems a lot more... in your face and you have to swap to specific parts, rather than having it all there on one tab. I'm not sure if you do or don't have them open because you don't seem to be recording having them open, which you may want to look into (OBS Studios is a good, free recording software you can use if you aren't already by the way.) And finally, try to just differentiate the shapes you use, because sticking primarily to parts leads to everything looking very blocky, and adding in some curves makes everything look nicer as long as you don't throw them everywhere. Quick Edit: I noticed from your comments that you like to plan out your builds, so I def recommend you get into using increments, will seriously help with planning.
These are great tips and suggestions thanks for letting me know :D ! I 100% agree that it's better to use something other than only parts, usually when I build I don't always only use parts. However, for this cafe, I didn't want to add these extra different wedges or cylinders for detail because of performance issues, and if lag wasn't a factor I would've added these details. As for increments, I've always wanted to stick with 0.0001, and I wasn't sure why people wanted to do 0.025 or etc. But I'll try to build with these different increments, and maybe it will improve my planning and smoothing on my builds :). As for recommending qCmdUtl over F3X, the ui of qCmdUtl looked a lot more complicated than F3X, and I wasn't sure how to use it. Also I use F3X solely because of the shortkeys which makes me build WAYYY faster, and I couldn't see any shortkeys for qCmdUtl. Although, there's probably something I'm missing with qCmdUtl because I am new with it. But if qCmdUtl has a tool that resizes an object downsize that would be very helpful because F3X doesn't actually have that, and so maybe I should start a habit of using qCmdUtl sometime. Finally, having the explorer and properties tab closed was just an experiment, and I had it this way for only a few days. If you realize in the video, I had explorer and properties as a shortkey at the top left instead of having it in my face blocking most of my screen while building. So I thought It could actually improve building, but I get that it could also be better having them open at all times. It's a great suggestion! Anyways, I really like getting constructive criticism I don't usually get a lot of these :D! Thanks again for these great tips and suggestions. :)
I would like to look at the full process and nice vid idk why I'm always surprised tho because I'm always expecting cool stuff from you and also i have been a subscriber for a year i think and you still haven't gotten that many subs but you deserve at least like 100K subs

Roblox Studio looks a little different. The lighting and such looks different. Is it natural or do you do something to make it look like this? P.S. Love your videos! Love to watch these videos, especially since I am a Roblox Developer.
the only problem i have with building is they don’t become accurate and i have to start sizing the blocks with a .001 increment because the positions are really messed up like just random numbers, ex. 8.837 instead of 8.75 or something like so, is there a way to fix this?

What programs do you use for editing, music, and recording? Love your builds!
For recording he probably uses OBS studio but for editing and recording idk
