A recent study by Oxford University concluded that the 'single biggest thing' you can do to help the environment is to adopt a vegan diet. Greta is vegan and she's setting a great example. Animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gases, as well as massively polluting the environment
Or you could just stop supporting animal agricoulture, but occasionally eat game. One half a moose will last one family for more than a year. There are calculators out there that will tell you how many animals you consume if you eat the typical western diet, which is very inefficient and wasteful, (because people don't want to buy every part of the animals, and those have to be fed to animals like dogs and pigs, or just go to waste).

It was pretty ridiculous the amount of this speech that was shown on BBC and CNN international (almost nothing). It should have been broadcast in full. It was her best performance so far. I began an environmental fundraiser some years ago in an attempt to raise awareness and support three environmental based charities that operated within 3 distinct and pinnacle fields.... Education, Conservation and Technology... The fundraiser was a challenge to walk the entire coastline (actual coastline not missing an inch) of the UK and Ireland whilst living outdoors for the duration... I managed to push on for two and a half years before I made the decision to stop... I raised very little money and simply didn't have the ability to pull in an audience like this girl has and the constant battle of dealing with the mindset of many humans was maddening combined with the fact I could earn more in a minimum wage job and donate it to charities made continuing an ill advisable risk... I had several meltdowns and actually realised during this trek that I was myself autistic too... Greta has off her own back managed to gain vast support and influence bringing this subject to many peoples minds and I fully understand her need for respite... She, you, me are never going to reach everybody... There are people who belive in moon conspiracies, flat earth etc... There are people who are evil and people who just don't care and there are people who just don't understand the science and may never do but through her efforts millions of people have taken more of a stance on a subject that although they likely already understood were uninspired or too over whelmed to act or speak much about it... but due to the passion she inspired they found there own voice and many people have also been brought round to a more rational way of thinking too... I truly hope that after her rest she finds more strength as she has done so much good I would like to see it continue and I myself am still trying to find ways to do as much as I can too via volunteering and supporting various organisations etc and constantly studying, thinking and hoping for an aha moment where I can achieve yet more... The carbon in the atmosphere causes the heat from the sun to be trapped. This causes the land and the oceans to become warmer. The cycle of water in the oceans to evaporate into the warmer air and fall as rain also includes heat from the atmosphere to transfer to that rain. It is a cycle that can only be stopped by reducing the carbon greenhouses gas content in the atmosphere. The biosphere is everything. It is all connected. There are many environmental problems to solve, but Greenhouse gas production has to stop and also be mitigated in some way. Carbon emissions is only one part. But it is the biggest and and most important to change.

It was pretty ridiculous the amount of this speech that was shown on BBC and CNN international (almost nothing). It should have been broadcast in full. It was her best performance so far. Full of facts and with some venom but also calmness. As she said, it’s the way to get people who haven’t been paying close attention so far on board.

I began an environmental fundraiser some years ago in an attempt to raise awareness and support three environmental based charities that operated within 3 distinct and pinnacle fields.... Education, Conservation and Technology...
The fundraiser was a challenge to walk the entire coastline (actual coastline not missing an inch) of the UK and Ireland whilst living outdoors for the duration...
I managed to push on for two and a half years before I made the decision to stop... I raised very little money and simply didn't have the ability to pull in an audience like this girl has and the constant battle of dealing with the mindset of many humans was maddening combined with the fact I could earn more in a minimum wage job and donate it to charities made continuing an ill advisable risk... I had several meltdowns and actually realised during this trek that I was myself autistic too...
Greta has off her own back managed to gain vast support and influence bringing this subject to many peoples minds and I fully understand her need for respite... She, you, me are never going to reach everybody... There are people who belive in moon conspiracies, flat earth etc... There are people who are evil and people who just don't care and there are people who just don't understand the science and may never do but through her efforts millions of people have taken more of a stance on a subject that although they likely already understood were uninspired or too over whelmed to act or speak much about it...
but due to the passion she inspired they found there own voice and many people have also been brought round to a more rational way of thinking too... I truly hope that after her rest she finds more strength as she has done so much good I would like to see it continue and I myself am still trying to find ways to do as much as I can too via volunteering and supporting various organisations etc and constantly studying, thinking and hoping for an aha moment where I can achieve yet more...
To those who feel tempted to debate the haters and deniers even though you intuitively know its pointless... Listen to that intuition and save your energy for supporting those who are rational, kind and trying and keep trying yourself... I shall be joining any large protests in my home country although it will not be under the guise of XR.. I support them fully although I'm not always keen on the dressing up and dancing side of things but people cope in different ways to situations like this and I am just personally an individualist but will simply stand alongside them and any other groups who choose to protest at this point in non violent ways and most importantly we must stand behind the youth most of all on this issue and I mean that literally, any adt group shall be targeted by media and dealt with in ways no government would dare with the youth and it is they who have the most to lose ...
The reality of the situation is truly scary... The odds are very much stacked against us but we must fight in any way we are able now...
If anyone's interested you can search "Peter Mears Coast" or coast walk etc in Google there'll Likely still be something about it on there but I've shutdown the Facebook page called the Pale Blue Dot as I now need to regroup and heal for a small time before taking my next steps in life as my health suffered dramatically living outside so long and on basically no budget as I was self funded and basically starving most of the time... but I have not given up hope despite those odds.

It is a cycle that can only be stopped by reducing the carbon greenhouses gas content in the atmosphere. The biosphere is everything. It is all connected. There are many environmental problems to solve, but Greenhouse gas production has to stop and also be mitigated in some way. Carbon emissions is only one part. But it is the biggest and and most important to change.
