I'd say this is the most perfect punk song ever written, except The Ramones have quite a few other perfect songs, so I'll just say this is one of the most perfect punk songs ever written.
For me it's either Loudmouth or I don't want to go down to the basement, which funnily are both very similar as they have no chorus and they come back to back on the first album.
@@johnny2shoes90 Met Tommy some years ago in Charlottesville before an Uncle Monk show. Lucky enough to talk to him for five minutes. He was very humble and gracious. Told him Teenage Lobotomy was my favorite. He said he wrote the lyrics. He also talked about similarity to Ramones music and old bluegrass.
I love Joey's voice! :) And the powerful sound of that guitar.. and that great bass playing.. and that drumming coming with the power of a thunder.. and ALL about them. Simply The Ramones!
You gotta realize Ramones were like from another planet back in the day, refreshing rock n roll compared to Helen Reddy ,styx and all the other crap debbie boone
Grande RAMONES UNA PASION QUE NO SE EXPLICA SOLO SE SIENTE Y SE ESCUCHA SE LLEVA ADENTRO VAMOS LOS RAMONES TENGO 18 ANOS NUNCA LOS VI EN VIVO AGUANTE LOS RAMONES CARAJO LA MEJOR BANDA DEL MUNDO DE LA HISTORIA Y DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS
The band that launched thousands of imitators. It doesn't get much better than the original Ramones lineup playing Loudmouth a year after it was released. They were so important to the history of Rock N Roll. A shame that Joey wasn't able to live long enough to see their induction into that Wenner character's hall.
before the Smiths and the sweaters and that stupid "dance thing" he does, he tried out to sing for Slaughter and the Dogs (not as rawdog as you'd think, at least not always.) Not all Smiths songs are "mellow", either but they were a better singles band. most of the proper lp's are dated and spotty (except Queen is Dead now when can we send him to the desert island???
I think there's a punk revival happening. They needn't bother with the image-driven Pistols or the punk-turned-reggae garbage of the Clash, The Ramones are the original and best and are all you need.
VINNY MAC well it’s way faster here. I like the bass sound better on the album, it’s hard to compare a live sound to the album version because the album is usually how the band wanted to sound,. I usually just always prefer album versions over live audio recordings. It’s Alive is like the best live album ever though, even though their were probably lots of overdubs.
The producer on the first album made the songs sound too clean, and Johnny hated that. So Johnny fired that fucker after working on their first album only
It was too thin sounding, and it fed back terribly due to the high output Strat pickup Johnny put in the bridge. That's why it was only used live as a backup guitar. When it wasn't on the road, it served as his practice guitar. He didn't have to worry about feedback at home. I personally think the blue Mosrite Ventures II was the best Johnny ever sounded.
I grew up so close to Rockaway Beach I could walk there in about 50 minutes. I'm from Long Beach, Long Island. The Atlantic Beach bridge connect's the Rockaway Peninsula to the Island city of Long Beach.
this song is the song that got me into the ramones i was listening to the arturo's loft concert with loudmouth as its first song i love this song an this is a good live version of it
saw this live on my TV. I have been a fan ever since, but probably before this. they are at their sonic peak here. you really wonder how they didn't go deaf by age 30.
This is the song that started it all. The “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” of (Punk) Rock. Everything that happened , happened after Ramones said “You’re a Loudmouth Baby, You Better Shadditup”.
When they played in Cambridge New Year's Eve 78? on the first U.K. date of their Rocket To Russia tour, I asked Johnny what happened to his blue Mosrite (as he was playing the white one). He replied "somebody stole it in Detroit" which I guess is the most Rock N Roll town for it to go missing in. Probably up in somebody's loft somewhere.
+mijo7851 The whole first album sucks in terms of sonic balance. Vocals are way too loud. I played the first few tracks recently, and quickly swapped it for a live-LP.
The whole album only cost $5,000 to produce. They weren't looking for audio perfection necessarily, but just to get "out there" for people to know. Their sound was so unique, with no R&B influence like all rock bands before them. That's why they are the original and the first Punk Rock band...
+PCSteve Martin well, I don't think you can really say it had no R &B influence, I know Johnny said he had no blues influence in his guitar, but the actual songs, so many of them are based off early rock n roll and doo wop , and all that came from R & B...
There was a time when I could do downstrokes that fast - in fact doing upstrokes and downstrokes together was impossible for me for the first year or so I played guitar. Then I broke my arms because I'm a numpty.
I'd say this is the most perfect punk song ever written, except The Ramones have quite a few other perfect songs, so I'll just say this is one of the most perfect punk songs ever written.
I agree.
I think today your love and tomorrow the world is the perfect Ramones song😊
Agreed here too. My all-time favourite Ramones track. I could never understand why they dropped it from their live shows.
Agrreeeee 1000%
For me it's either Loudmouth or I don't want to go down to the basement, which funnily are both very similar as they have no chorus and they come back to back on the first album.
love footage of the Ramones with Tommy...so classic
1967PONTIACGTO Best era of the band in my opinion. (No offense to Marky or Ritchie)
Lee DeMarco Oh hell yeah! Totally agree with you. No doubt
@@Soxfan080 Agreed, the first three albums are their zenith.
Ramones with Tommy is my kinda ramones 🤘🎶🥁

young people these days will never know how good we had it back in the late 70s.
This song definitely is their signature sound with the chord changes
I love Joey's voice! :) And the powerful sound of that guitar.. and that great bass playing.. and that drumming coming with the power of a thunder.. and ALL about them.
Simply The Ramones!
We love and remember them every day!
The Ramones in their prime.
At the height of their powers. Tommy still on drums. Fantastic.
As someone who was there allow me to say, God does their greatness endure!
God what would I give to be 26 in 1977 instead of 2021.. So much raw power in this live show holy shit
I was there, it was amazing
@@scuderiaferrari502 Cheers! I was there also. Amazing then. Amazing now!
No, you'd want to be 15, growing up with all this new music everywhere.
Like I was 😂
Try being 23 Insane in my hometown Nyc
You gotta realize Ramones were like from another planet back in the day, refreshing rock n roll compared to Helen Reddy ,styx and all the other crap debbie boone
Love that they played Kirchners Rock Concert. Most of the crowd were used to much slower music, and then here comes the RAMONES.....! PURE ENERGY!
Classic I grew up with the Ramones. Best times of my life
Best punk band ever ❤
I came home with my girlfriend to watch this on TV with my family and parents.

Ramones are too cool for words!
The band that launched thousands of imitators. It doesn't get much better than the original Ramones lineup playing Loudmouth a year after it was released. They were so important to the history of Rock N Roll. A shame that Joey wasn't able to live long enough to see their induction into that Wenner character's hall.
This version and the one from 1975 demo are mindblowing
AWESOME ! I miss them all.
iconic is an understatement. they were the best. still blow me away.
Morrissey chose Loudmouth as one of his Desert Island Discs, ive got to agree. Probably the best punk song ever written.
TonyStraightEdgeVegan Best comment I have ever read in UA-cam
True. He pretended not to like them and all the while harboring an intense, abiding affection for their abrasive ways
before the Smiths and the sweaters and that stupid "dance thing" he does, he tried out to sing for Slaughter and the Dogs (not as rawdog as you'd think, at least not always.) Not all Smiths songs are "mellow", either but they were a better singles band. most of the proper lp's are dated and spotty (except Queen is Dead now when can we send him to the desert island???
And yet? Morrissey also 100% chose that same (desert cream puff)< (deserted island) to be "guy's only" that he wanted to suck off? winky-wink
They were perfect live in the early years this takes some beating
Great tune, great lyric, great aggression, top track.
In there prime for sure. !!!!
Pure energy and grit.
LOVE THE RAMONES. I WANTED EVERYTHING IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF MANY!
Best f-n live show ever. Saw them 2 nights in a row and met Joey and Dee Dee in bathroom and autographs after I followed them to Q trip after show
Man,
When i hear Ramones songs i'm feel so Dumb... It's so great!
My Mom actually got me hooked on The Ramones. I am 53 years old ! think about it

one of the fucking best songs of Ramones oo4!
I fucking love this band
Best quality of the Kirshner show I've ever seen! More please...
Yes! Restored(?) beautifully!
it's such a shame the youth of today will never experience music wise what i did aged 16...
rock and roll is nearly dead.too bad
I think there's a punk revival happening. They needn't bother with the image-driven Pistols or the punk-turned-reggae garbage of the Clash, The Ramones are the original and best and are all you need.
hey man im a youth and i fucking love the ramones
I’m 15 and been a fan for 3 years now 😳. I even picked up a guitar and learned from scratch how to play like Johnny
@@idoguitarstuff same here bro its what taught me barre chords
The best band ever!!!!

Ramones is always better on live!!

That's quite a bit
That Ric sounds pretty fuckin good.
Their best song for me....they sound better live than they did on record.
Nice to see Tommy hittin the skins
Daqui 1 bilhão de anos nasce outra banda igual essa
This is raw energy ! Awesome live version !
Just about as perfect as perfect gets....... :)

Joey givin' the snarl to the camera at the beginning is AWESOME. ❤
All 4 gone, all too soon. Long live The Ramones!

As much as i love Moserites , it's nice to see John with something different ...
not too many axemen can grind a Rickenbaker !
I was wondering what that was 🤘
Ramones. 2021 Argentina 🤘😷
I miss Dee Dee so badly. R.I.P.
RIP all of them
Don't understand why this monster wasn't played on the UK '77 tour.
Kicking azz right there 😂
I hate that the It's alive dvd can not be seen on the blu ray player I have for three years

Ramones sounded best with a Tommy. Love that guy 🤘
RAMONES FOR EVER💪😡❤😎🥇🎉
What a rush!!
Johnny really liked this one and it shows
Joey is a KILER !
Tight, loud, fast and live, stripped down, rock and roll
That is why it works soooo well
Joey is in top form.
Beto e seu túnel do tempo....
OfficialConnerSwift Johnny broke a string on his blue Mosrite during this show and had to use the Rickenbacker the rest of the show
Ah, thanks.
what is the reference of it? I like that guitar
suhijo
I think I read that too in his autobiography Commando!
@@croby must get a copy of that
One of the few bands who sound better live, then on their records.
Holy smokes, is there more from this set anywhere?!
Tommy era the best era, perfect timing.
When they played in Cambridge New Year's Eve 78? on the first U.K. date of their Rocket To Russia tour, I asked Johnny what happened to his blue Mosrite (as he was playing the white one). Phil James Robin Zander from Cheap Trick has it to this day
Johnny Ramone was using a different color Mosrite guitar!
Crazy to think they have all passed now.
Joey Ramone cantava muito.
Se imaginan tener 15 años en el 77 y casualmente ver esto en tv.......
first song i could play on guitar. Ruined my playing style forever and thats a good thing. 😀
Not sure why, but Johnny used two guitars at this show. One of them was his original blue Mosrite, the other was this Rickenbacker 450 model (I think)
Super super!
May the all
Rest In Powder
Salve salve Ramones
Apparently, the Mosrite had the night off.
only a few songs ;) visit the UA-cam channel Blondie and you can see the full concert in different parts in this quality if not better.
The album version doesn"t come close to this.
+mijo7851 The whole first album sucks in terms of sonic balance. Vocals are way too loud. I played the first few tracks recently, and quickly swapped it for a live-LP.

PCSteve Martin the problem wasnt audio perfection, if anything the audio was too clean and it lacks the raw sonic power of live versions
The 40th anniversary mono release is pretty awesome though
Tommy on the drums. Instant thumbs up.
Loudmouth
I did not know that Howard Stern used to be the frontman of the Ramones.
