@@chromebomb Unfortunately not. We were there for five days and only snowed on the last day. The rain suddenly turned to snow while we were checking out of the hotel
Much respect John. Hope the Festival does all the good things for you and all involved. I gives me the warm and fuzzies seeing people doing these challenging things together. This is how you build and maintain community. It's wonderful.
When you do the temple run and immerse yourself in the pool upon emerging from the water you will officially be a "Polar Bear". It's the people who on New Years Day hop into the freezing ocean/river. It's a big thing in Canada/Europe. The snowfall increased as you were walking through the town. Love the snowfall.
My daughters and I were in Tokyo in March about 6 years ago. We got really lucky with the cherry blossoms but the first morning there I looked out the hotel window and it was snowing. The first time I saw snow in 20 years.
Wow , you always amaze ! Thankyou so much for all your fantastic efforts and sensibilities to Japan culture . We have enjoyed your travels always gives us ideas for travel planning. Will you be doing an EXPO special advising ……how to do Expo ?
This is wonderful John!! Appreciate you joining in on these kind of festivals and taking us along with it too. How can we find the schedules of these kind of festivals if we wanted to visit? I’m hoping to make a trip end of March for my birthday and would love to come see a similar festival ❤
When you discover them, write them down 😉 I’m trying to make a calander of events but need a little more time. Always bookmark stuff you might be interested in when you discover it. It’s amazing to look at it 2 years later and say WOW, I forgot about that, gotta go there!
An American sports program, Jomboy Media, does a show titled The Weekly Dumb, they are the dumb ones, and at times highlight silly stories, but their video from 2/27/24 mentioned a story about the Naked Man Festival!! It was reported the festival is having trouble getting younger people to commit to it.
It snowed briefly when I was in Sapporo last week. It was enough to make my Mum cry who had been wanting to experience snowfall her whole life 😢
doesnt it always snow in sapporo?

Nice stream John. Looking forward to visiting this fall hopefully.
Great video. I'm sure quite an experience to participate or watch in person. John, you can do it!
Thank you for showing this wonderful Japanese festival John. Be safe when running, hope you have a nice warm towel after your plunge! UK

Happy early birthday! There are some but the cherry blossoms 🌸 are pretty dominant.
Beautiful!!
Nice video John 😉
John is a mad lad I love it lol
Wow, heavy wet snow!
The little girls in red remind me of Queen Amidala. Interesting wardrobe👍🏽🖖🏽
3:40 I love your expression of incredulousness.
Stay toasty John and have a great time🌝
You should do the festival in Ouichi Juku. They run with torches in their hands so they stay warm even though they are almost naked.
isn't it supposed to become springy?
🩵🩵❄️❄️. Hookaido is still snowing.
Sakura came early than snowfall, extremely extreme 😱
Kawazu Sakura come “early” compared to Some Yoshino every year 😉
いい木造建築物やなぁ
My question is how cold is it there?
ماشاءاللہ
Have fun John at the festival

What ??? No Big John to show off ? Girls are disappointed.
Has anyone in Japan mistaken you for Ralph Macchio?
