“It’s gorgeous but it never gets played with” I finally went through all of our lovevery toys and wooden collection and put it in the donation pile. There are so many children who live in shelters who would adore these beautiful developmental toys.

I love that you let the kids chatter and play and continue to play or talk while you vlog. It helps us as watchers or parents ourselves to see that this is realistic! And it helps your children Im sure so much :) to not feel like all the fun is stopped when mummy has to turn on the camera. Love it!

Also seeing her kids involved helped me to decide to do the decluttering and baby prep outside of just nap time. I like having something on in the background ,lately the child of the redwoods podcast, but this helped me to just slow down stop putting pressure on and use nap time to rest myself too.

In America there is something called Dolly Partons Imagination Library. Once you sign up they send your kid a new book every month for free until they turn 5. You never put in any payment information and it is not income based. They have to have a base in your area but look it up. It's amazing 👏

These videos are some of my favourites! For someone like me who doesn’t like clutter, who likes organizing and decluttering my home I find these videos SO satisfying!! My head fills so much clearer when my home is not in shambles and cluttered up by random things/things that I haven’t used in over a year. I feel like I can breathe and I feel a lot calmer.
Thank you, Delilah for this wonderful video 🤗

I still have to go through and donate my kids' clothing, toys, and books before Christmas. I do this before every major holiday, birthday, etc. to free up space for the new items and not have SO much to avoid feeling overwhelmed and stressed. It's extremely satisfying and something I look forward to. My oldest is 9, so she does this with me as well. It's great bonding time. This video made me even more motivated to get it all done. Thank you for sharing ❤️

This has been a very motivational video for me! I have 3 daughters ages 3 and under and the amount of toys we have accumulated is quite overwhelming. We try and be very thoughtful about things that we bring into our home, but it is definitely time to declutter. Sometimes I have a hard time getting rid of something that was a more pricey item, but there really is no need to hold onto it if my children aren’t playing with it!

Hahaha that's literally how i ended up here. Need motivation to get started on the mess that has built up over the anemic pregnancy now only a couple weeks left and haven't done any prep for baby this time round. Literally was just survival mode day to day with my toddler. Bless her i don't want to let her down with the environment not being prepared for her.
I think once i get the printer set up too it will help having some good activities and the routine cards up on the wall when she is with my mum .

Oh Delilah I GET YOU! I am in the exact same place right now. I realized that having so many things to maintain and manage and inventory and trip over was so stressful for me and made my head explode. Then I was very short tempered and I wasn’t very happy etc. so I have just ruthlessly decluttered things and it is so nice. The house may have a few odds and ends on the floor but it is so peaceful to just be able to look around and not see clutter everywhere. And I am still trying to declutter even more.
Side note: you and I both do the same thing with our hands when we’re talking when we’re stressed like putting your fingers together and it’s really funny to see you do that too. I never did that until I was a mom lecturing my children about something hahahahah
Praise the Lord for being there with us through this season of motherhood. He’s teaching me so much about myself to my children.

So timely right before Christmas, I've been doing this progressively since October. Ready for another round soon. Sometimes you just have to do it all in phases too. I usually readily have a mental list of things I know need to go, things I'm not quite sure about, and things that I need to come to terms with getting rid of (for one reason or another). So I'll do some one week, more a week or two later, and more a week or two after that. Like you said, it's totally an ongoing process you always will have to revisit.

I follow you for your home stuff and decor and reno but im hoping that this will also get me to like kids more. I'm 25 so kids are no where near my future yet, and a lot of me doesnt want kids at all and I dont like being around them or dealing with them, but also part of me does want to be a mom....maybe eventually. I'm not good with small children like toddlers. So i'm hoping you will help me ease up and also know how to deal with them and have patience

I always wanted kids (preferably before 20 lol :P) but finally had one recently and have been seeing the softening up to motherhood of many of my friends like you, who'd say they would never babysit for whatever amount of money, how they don't want to get married/settle/have kids etc. If you kind of want to be a mom, don't worry about it, it will crystallize one way or the other eventually :)
