My Tokyo 89 moment was being a young airmen stationed in Misawa Japan, I had a used R32 (skyline), I drove it from Misawa ALL the way to Tokyo and then back a few days later. Driving speeding down the toll roads on those warm summer nights with my girl friend (now wife) hitting up Ginza for the food and shopping and then Odaiba for the rainbow bridge and Ferris wheel....Thank you for taking me down memory lane
The closest I have been to such an experience was when I was a little boy, my mother took me to a Japanese supermarket in Costa Mesa. I call it the Japanese Target.
This was never a genre in the 80s. This is a modern genre now called retro synthwave. We didn't have this genre in the 80s. But this was used in some movie and TV soundtracks and background music, like Miami Vice for instance.
I removed the radio from my '85 Pontiac Fiero, & use the hole for a make-shift glove-box. Currently have a Raspberry Pi that bluetooth syncs with my Phone & iPod. Just have to figure out where I can hide the amp & I'll be streaming this on my next road trip as well
Such enjoyable music throughout this whole mix, truly timeless and forever...The world of endless peace and joy is coming soon, maybe sooner than we think...
Currently listening in my 89 CRX Right Hand Drive with Tokyo registration stickers on the windshield. Running through mountain canyons. Very fitting mix for the evening.
The great Odysseus strikes again. A brilliant mix that matche perfectly with some good weed, not to mention that beautiful artwork. Thanks for that endless journey.
Listen to your stuff at work all the time. Makes me super productive. Thank you so much for your awesome talent and for your generosity to make it available to all of us!
I have no words to describe your talent at making art, your style is so unique, its extraordinary. You've managed to go even higher. You're amazing and nothing can stop you!
18:12 DX-Digital - Queen of the Night makes me wish that I could see that car hovering outside and that I could get beep signal to my cell that everything is ready for a road trip through space and time...I mean right now...escape from this dreary Thursday that gnawes me from inside...
Just a reminder that you don’t live forever, if you want something go get it, take risks in life, and be adventurous. If you survive life but don’t live it, what’s the point?

Hey, my grandpa on my dads side was a Senior Master Sargent at the time stationed at Misawa air base. It's like were crossing paths.
Don'tfeedthetrolls I think their referring to 2089 not 1989 lol
What a beautiful vision to accompany this awesome music. Thanks for sharing man.
Thanks for sharing man. The R32 was for sure like new, it is launched in '89! You intrigued me: what was the speed in toll roads?

I never realized how much I needed jazzy synth in my life.
Dude, I really envy the people who got to listen to stuff like this back when it was mainstream.

I can just image myself at the top of a high rise building in Tokyo shibuya at night smoking a cig. The lights shining like a bundle of jewels.....
I will always be drawn to Tokyo, the commercial lights of the city and the serene majesty of the mount Fuji will always call me there....
Whoah. Honestly did not expect to hear one of my own songs in this compilation. Thanks for the support! Really appreciate it.
I actually found you on an OSW review podcast, which is why I am on here now.
I love that the little music bars don't smother the art, so you can properly observe and enjoy it.
Perfect to play in my 1989 Toyota MR2 Supercharged 😎
Bryan Fewell 240sx for me😉

haha my brother is working on a red 1989 mr2 mk1. Used to work, had to swap the engine but it's still a work in progress.
So I should listen to this while reading the Over Rev! manga then?
Such enjoyable music throughout this whole mix, truly timeless and forever...The world of endless peace and joy is coming soon, maybe sooner than we think...
