Just stumbled across Cities Aviv randomly on Tidal. Didn't know he was from Memphis. He raps like my unreleased raps. It's Slam poetry. Hella relatable. One of my new favorite artist

Been bumping Cities Aviv since Black Pleasure 2012. To witness the longevity is crazy. So many cats from that underground scene came and went….He is Hiphops journeyman for sure.

Discovered Cities through a post on reddit about a MIKE type beat by a random fan. I don't remember exactly how it led up to me finding the name, "Cities Aviv" but i remember searching it up on Spotify and shiiiit, i knew i struck gold. Started off with Black Pleasure 2012 and gradually moved up to Man Plays The Horn. Truly an avant-garde artist whose knowledge of sonics is on a league of it's own, an artist who paints with sounds rather than with brushes. I think it's fair to say, crowning him as an underground God wouldn't be pushing it.

Cities has some amazing stuff especially the early stuff but also some recent songs are great as well. The music really has its own identity which I really appreciate. I hope he continues to get recognition because he deserves it.

I have good news for you.
Believe it or not, but since Man Plays the Horn dropped, we already got another album under his moniker African-American Sound Recordings.
Based on the large amount of output he has recently released, I wouldn't be surprised if we get another full-length album by the end of 2023.

It actually bothered you that I called the album "Crashing" instead of "Crashing Sound"?
It was simply a short-form way to refer to the album.

@@lonenexus959 I think this line of thinking is strange, because I don't have any opinion on the proper shorthand. It's a live interview, it's just what came naturally to me as I spoke. No further intent was behind that lol.
