What a great harvest season to watch!:) Our main harvest season here in germany was month ago, so it was great to at least watch some more harvest action!:) I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year!
It feels like Big Red's days on the farm will be coming to an end in the next couple of years. It was a good vehicle to get you going into hauling grain, but need to upgrade it gets much stronger every year.
Put a $grand or 2 in it, and it will be cheaper than payments for a few more years. Exhaust manifold is a pain, but if the rest of the truck is solid it's worth the repair. You will get dinged 2X on trade value anyway, and they will put the manifold on and sell it for 4X more than they put in it.
I have an older Ford straight grain truck with a V8 gas engine, which are notorious for exhaust manifold leaks. I do most of the repairs, but asked a shop about changing the gaskets on the exhaust. (I've dealt with those in the past) The mechanic told me to turn up the radio if the leaks bothered me! It wasn't worth the problems that would occur trying to replace the gaskets. I'm still listening to loud music!
Fantastico, the last hurrah for 2023, the red Brent cart still looks very well, remember the video You posted Ryan when You first got it, very Well Done Everybody💯👌👍🙏🙂
The rush is over, now back to the daily winter stuff of feeding and watching the grain markets to determine when to sell more for cash flow.. Great video - love the drone work!
Your truck exhaust manifold, might be fixed on the farm this winter. Those manifold bolts that might break you can wire feed a nut on those and they will usually come out.....maybe you cannot have your truck out of service that long. (the welding usually loosens them, or use penetrating oil on there when you drive it for a couple of times.....
It looks like you finished just in time. Three inches of snow fell for us here in eastern Iowa. I'm guessing you received the same amount considering we live like ten miles from each other as the crow flies.
Ryan if you plan on keep using that semi truck to haul your crops in you might want to consider looking into getting those needed repairs done before you end up stranded on the side of the road somewhere where there’s no cellphone service to have someone come to your aide to help you get the truck back home
Hey Ryan, Hannah and Travis. I know everyone is glad harvest 2023 is a rap. Now to getting fodder in and rapped. Take Care, Take it Easy and Trust JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you and travis very much for the videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s nothing cheap about owning a truck and major repairs. I was in the dealership end of it for years. Used truck prices have skyrocketed for the past few years. For many customers, it was a toss up between fixing their truck or taking a chance buying another used truck. For many folks, owning a truck was a necessary evil. Kinda like a wife, can’t live with them, can’t live without them.
Just out of curiosity - I'm sure you've been asked this before - In your title you refer to "Kuster's" last stand, spelled the way your last name is spelled. However, I noticed over the years that you pronounce your last name as though it's spelled "Kister". Any particular reason for that? Congratulations on being done with harvest. Always a good feeling.
Congrats on finishing harvest I don’t know who gave you the really bad advice on the exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks should be repaired immediately because as long as we’ve been hearing it in your videos. it’s already causing major damage to other components other than exhaust system and then it will be major, major money. The advice you received is a death sentence for that motor. Is it your plan to just throw the whole truck away ? I realize it’s not a high dollar value piece of machinery But It is still a very productive and valuable asset to the farm operation Your choice of not doing repairs will slowly but surely lead to the death and into the truck graveyard for it
Not sure if this has been asked but do you get a better yield by going slower? The reason I ask is that the others that I watch seem to be moving much faster. Thanks.
Depends on the yield. If you have 250+ bushel an acre corn you're harvesting, it helps to go slower because you'll have more corn being pushed out the back. We're also limited by how fast we can take the corn away from the combine so there's no point in pushing things just to sit and wait anyway.
Ryan, How did the British Farm get its name?? I’ve always wondered but haven’t seen how!!! Keep up the good work!! Amazing quick editing this over Thanksgiving - well done as usual and fast!!
Hey David, there used to be a town called British Hollow that grandpa bought one side of the road of. The town is gone but foundations and cellars can still be found!
Hey Ryan, I have kind of a random question. Are there pheasants in your area? I've been watching for a couple of years and I've never seen one flush during your harvesting. BTW, I've learned a lot from watching your channel, thank you.
I love the video of your dog watching the header
Kusters harvest 23 is done. Well done guys

Hope the washing wasnt out at the farm at the start of the vid combine 😮😅.. glad you've got it all wrapped up for the year.. stay safe 🏴
Sounds like 4640 getting old and cranky but she will always be my favorite john deer tractor. I want to get one for running trips to town in.
awsome video ryan anouther great harvest comes to a end love it thumbs up and shared
Congratulations on finishing and hoping you can either add more on farm bin storage or a new truck and trailer to help speed up harvest.
Congratulations fellas! Ol red sounds a little sick 😷
Those manifold bolts on that motor don’t usually give problems.
Great video as always Ryan, good to see Hannah with you. And congratulations on being done with harvest 👏
The first snow fall of the year came last night!
Good stuff

Looks like the combine could use some new led light for next year.

Awesome drone shots Ryan! That night time harvest is so cool! What drone do you use?
I use the plain Mavic 3
How good do you see when dumping from grain cart seats
Not very well which is why we usually have a person on the wagon watching

I was told it has something to do with being a German last name. No idea other than that's the way we spell it.
Interesting! @@HowFarmsWork

Not sure if the 46 or big red was most upset to be started and put to work
Very Punny! Finished with no cab corn!

Oh yeah, you'll scare them off the roadsides pretty frequently in the summer.
See if they will let you haul back a load of that mush for the cows.
A bother nice video. Love seeing Hannah in your videos. HUSBAND AND WIFE

people who whine about ethanol trains should not sell corn to ethanol plants
It’s a running joke but okay
