I have to agree about the Isuzu’s capabilities. I ran one for a couple of years and used it in and around our woodland in Scotland. They’re also pretty well protected underneath straight “out of the box”.
One Question stands-out for us, after all the applause has died down, of course. Brilliant videos, informative, interesting, fun, engaging, unique & extremely enjoyable to watch. What facilities did you use/have, where there was not a 'flush facility on-site'. No - we are not as hardy as you two.
Well done, Andrew. Very enjoyable viewing. I was somewhat alarmed however to see neither you nor your daughter Kate wearing seatbelts, especially when travelling along that rough track. It's compulsory to wear them in Australia. Look forward to seeing you down here.
Its compulsory all through Africa as well. And we always wear them, unless we've been crossing rivers or on a pont, where its mandatory that they are removed. On that rough track, it was impossible to wear them because of the jarring. At 5kph, they are not necessary and extremely uncomfortable, to the point that one cannot lean out of the window to see what the steering wheels are doing.At one point Kate appears not to be wearing hers, but that's because she had been filming and had slipped the shoulder belt over her waste to get into position to shoot. Other than those occasions, we always, always, always wear them. Its a no brainer and illegal if you don't.
Andrew, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Anyone who lives and travels in remote areas knows when to and not wear seat belts. This is the exact reason why I am not on any forum nor part of the 4wd community - everyone is an expert and they're all PC and ready with a negative comment. It just goes to show who has and hasn't got experience. In other words, people haven't got a damn clue about how the world works. I drove 77 km all on rough 4wd tracks today in my bakky and didn't wear a seat belt at all. Now some PC twit will no doubt advise me...... Just as with the world, the internet is also filled with the same 85% of wankers.
And you drove 77kms today thinking it was spelt, 'bakky'. Good on you champ. The world is full of judgemental people who tend to see the bad in everything before they see the good. Anyhow, that's how it appears.

I'm curious if your daughter Kate will become the third generation of explorers to travel through Africa ?? Bringing these lovely locations and adventures to a new generation and those who can't do them themselves.
"A bit of gravel' tells me you have never done an African safari. This gravel breaks shocks, cracks chassis and weak vehicles just don't make it, especially if they are loaded. The other point of the videos is that those that do these trips, spend a fortune on accessories.
You are richt about that, only some "australian safari" I agree that gravel wears and tears your car down, but especially on the long run, less on a 3 week trip in a almost new car. Anyway, I love your videos, keep up the good work, you have got yourself a new fan!
Yes. South African's vehicles models, across the board, tend to have higher specs than in most countries. Often, manufacturers try base models and they mostly don't sell very well. For example, this one had leather seats as standard. Only two models are available - basic or everything.
