I have covered cushions in the same way but duck taped the back to help keep it in place. When you want to change, it just comes right off and doesn’t hurt the cushion or materiel. I learned this from decorator Christofer Lowell years ago. 😊

My husband's parents owned an upholstery shop. They always used an electric bread knife to cut foam. I see them in the thrift shop fairly often. Might be worth a try. Keep up the lovely work!
I was going to say the same thing! I used an electric knife to cut foam to make positioning bolsters. It cuts through foam like soft butter!
Maybe an electric knife can be found while thrifting also😊
Yes, an electric carving knife works great.
My husband does upholstery as a side job! That is what he uses! That chair and striped fabric were beautiful! My husband often uses a layer of fiber fill! It’s in a sheet! That gives the foam a soft look! It’s just our preference to do it that way! Your cushion looks grew and I love it all! The chair is so beautiful and I love the white pillow you added! Great job!

The cart was truly a trash to treasure! With your wood working skills just about anything can be saved. We saved a wicker loveseat from someone's trash at the curb & now it's on our front porch. I would have bought the mirror too.

Mary, I use an electric handheld meat cutter that I thrifted to cut foam. Easy peasy 😊

Mary, I own two of those exact wicker chairs! I purchased them at least 45 years ago and was told by the elderly owner that they had been in her family since the early 1900s! Next time we re-paint them, I’ll use a pressure washer to remove the excess paint. Thanks for that information! Love your videos!
Suggestion, Mary. I've temporary wrap covered foam cushions with fabric several times, and I use some duct tape on back to temporarily secure it. Works great, and comes off just fine! I also found that wrapping the foam with a thin white batting helps the fabric look better, more cushy, less stiff, and foam color won't show through. Love your chair and cushion!💚🤍💚

Wow I love that cart, what an upgrade! My daughter has one of those in her pantry that she keeps her potatoes and vegetables in, it has wire baskets. Someone must have donated the cart and kept all the baskets.

I've been following you for several months now, I really like almost everything you transform. Today you were unique in your summer clothes - you also transformed beautifully, I couldn't take my eyes off your transformation. In the spring, we both planted so-called frozen strawberry seedlings. How are you did they grow and bear fruit? Just a little for me, but now they have grown. Great ideas Mary! I had wished you would have gotten that fireside basket. I have one and have plans to paint it but hoping to see how yours turned out and your uses. I had a wicker rocker for approximately 40 years, the last 20 on my covered front porch. It finally disintegrated that wasn’t safe to sit in but how I enjoyed that chair!

I was going to suggest that too, electric knife the kind used to carve a turkey at Thanksgiving. I tried it out & it works, use with caution of course.

Just commenting because I know it helps your channel Mary-others have already said that electric carving knives are fantastic for cutting cushion foam. If you can't find one, a new big serrated bread knife works well also. I also cover raw foam with a layer of cotton quilt batting before putting on the fabric. It helps round over and sharp edges of the foam a little-a professional upholsterer taught me that. Everything was beautiful today as always, but i think the beverage cart was my very favorite. When you cut foam, use an electric meat cutter. It's what the fabric stores use too. You will be amazed! It doesn't need to be expensive.

You have amazing skills and an artist's eye. Last weekend I repainted a bistro set for my screened sun porch. It had been outside for years so looking worn. I've had it almost 20 years and just love it so much that I couldn't bare to throw it out. Now it looks brand new and is still useful.

The roll around cart with the wings had metal baskets in there, the sides of the metal basket wood slide in those grooves I have one and love it
Oh wow I found the exact mirror-letter collector at my GW - I didn’t think to paint it. I added a holiday stencil to the glass and foliage to the boxes.
