    Had me sold until we got to the range. 114 mile range on a single charge is ridiculous considering the competition.

    There are 4 (not 3) driving modes, including Green+ which turns off the A/C or heating. Great overview and thanks for putting in the work on this video.

    Thanks for the excellent review! With all those federal incentives plus the panoramic moonroof, it's definitely a fun electric car to consider! They should only improve the range of the battery to make it perfect Congratulations to Mini Cooper/BMW❤️❤️👋👋👋👋👋👋

    Mike , hi im crazy about the minis....I just have a question about ine if your earlier videos.....Im looking at a 2006 non S automatic.....Now the car has paddle shifters....Does this mean it is the better automatic tranny??? I thought i read somewhere that Canada had a version of a cvt with paddles....Oh ya im in Canada...Driving to see car right now....if you dont mind answering

      The CVT transmission is the same, with or without paddle shifters. Software just incorporates them in to operate accordingly.

    I would buy the MINI SE immediately if it could get 200+ miles of range. 115 miles? Laughable. Even for a city vehicle. I would have anxiety all of the time in LA.

      Yes for sure laughable. Good for those that have a daily routine and know exactly how many miles they commute. Otherwise nah

    Why make a fully electric and limit the mile range? 110 miles is when i refill my gas tank. This range won’t get you anywhere

    • @MikeMDs
      @MikeMDs  2 роки тому +1

      I agree. It's a pretty low range. Even 200 would be fair I think.

      @@MikeMDs since this was introduced 2 years ago. I thought those 2 years has gone by mini may have improved the mile range by now.

      yep. Best looking EV on the market today in my opinion. I'd have one with over 40,000 miles on it by now if the range were competitive with other EVs. Like others said, even 200miles would be respectable. But 114 mile range... makes this car unusable unless you live in the city AND never plan to leave for any reason.

    You are wrong my friend on this car loosing it's resale value as comparison to the gas version, remember by 2030 most cars better be electric or we are all going over the perverbial cliff!

    • @MikeMDs
      @MikeMDs  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately as of now once BMW's EV's go out of warranty the resale drops. The i3 for example; the resale tanked after the warranty ran out, not to mention a high percentage required a new battery after only 60k miles which was more than the vehicle was worth. People are still shy to buy an used unproven tech. No one wants to buy an old used iphone.

      @@MikeMDs I think you are missing the point my friend, if in 10 years you can get a Mini for $5000, I wouldn't mind putting a $5000 battery with more range when that day comes. It's like rebuilding an ICE if you want to keep the car longer, no need to replace an old phone if it still works, quit being wasteful! In time you won't be able to give away the gas Mini, someone has to be left holding the bag and it won't be me.

      Electricity comes from... natural gas, coal, oil, nuclear (maybe) mostly. A teeny tiny bit comes from hydro, solar and wind (don't forget that oil to lube those "green" turbines).
      I'm looking to by a Mini electric but not b/c it's "green" or "saves money" b/d neither of these are true. However, for a college kid within 10 miles or so of campus, an EV is simply more convenient.

    • @rogermartinez78
      @rogermartinez78 2 роки тому

      @@KAlphonso for a college kid you need to go look up your facts, and it all depends where you are from, here in California electric is generated by gas, solar and wind, and hydro, zero coal. Also, millions of Californians have solar.
