I just came across this video and I love how the big sisters tried their hardest to pretend to thank Santa (even though they're really thanking you guys) just so they don't ruin it for the younger kids. That's great big sisters right there! 👍
My mom died just over a week ago and pretending to be in the holiday spirit for our 5 kids is so hard! Thank you for sharing this to show it is possible. I know our kids need me as much as I needed my mom. I can do this!!
my grandma passed away on november 1 last year and while it wasn't really unexpected (she had a lot of health issues), it happened way quicker than we thought it would. my uncle also died in march of 2017, his wasn't a surprise either. christmas was definitely a hard time to get through last year, so i imagine it was even harder on you since it was your mom you loss. but the little picture book in memory of her was a cute thing, i love that idea. i'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. My mom passed very unexpectedly in June, so this Christmas coming will be the first Christmas without my mom. My mom was just like your mom; she would have expected me to pull it together and make the holidays wonderful for the kids. For me it's grandkids; my kids are grown up. That's what she did when she lost her mom. The bad part is..we always celebrated Christmas Eve at my mom's house..so this yr is going to be very different. My brother is going to his girlfriend's house instead. My son is going to his dad's. My daughter is going to her in-laws. And, my youngest son is going to his girlfriend's. So, it's going to be my husband & I alone for Christmas Eve, and I'm not looking forward to it. All the people I just mentioned..plus the grandkids..always went to my mom's house. So, I know how you must have felt. Strangely, we are doing major renovations on our house too right now. My mom was very excited to see how our house turned out so..that hurts too. The world will never be the same without our moms. Hope this holiday is a bit easier for you. Thoughts & prayers.
It doesn't matter how many people your surrounded by, losing your mom can make you pretty lonely. There is no one that can replace that relationship. So funny you say that about your renos. My mom planned out my renos for years before we even started. She was so excited to see it all done. Its been so hard. We just hit the 1 year anniversary of her death. So we just finished a year of "firsts" without her. First mothers day, first birthday and each one has been hard. I hope you can remember the good memories from the years of Christmas eves with your mom. Focus on what she gave you and how lucky you were to have her as your mother. Take care xo

There's just some things that you only talk to your mom about. I also lost my very best friend (also unexpectedly), 2 days before Christmas..last December. She & I spoke every day..sometimes more..just like my mom & I. But, usually for 2 or 3 days before Christmas we wouldn't talk because we were always both super busy & that was okay. But then..bright & early on Christmas morning..she would call me..wishing me a Merry Christmas..in her happy, cheery voice. She would always beat me to the draw & call first & she loved it. Well, when she didn't call last Christmas morning..I thought that was very strange..so I called her but got no answer. I tried to reach her all day on Christmas..but no answer. But, she has 3 children & a bunch of grandchildren..so I began to assume that she left early Christmas morning..maybe to go to her daughter's house 50 miles away. I still thought it strange that she didn't call me.. but convinced myself that she was at her daughter's house enjoying Christmas with her family. But the next morning..my friend's daughter called me to tell me that her mom (my best friend), had passed unexpectedly 2 days before Christmas. I was devastated but..my sweet mom was there to help me through it. But, 6 months later..my mom was gone too. So..that's where I'm at. My mom was planning renovations for my house for years too..the same as yours. And, like your mom..she couldn't wait to see it done. And, you're right..it is hard..very hard. A year of firsts..that is so sad. I can just imagine how you felt, and how I'm going to feel. I feel very lucky to have had her as my mom. If I could pick a mom..I would choose her all over again. My thoughts are with you now. You take care too. XO.

aww love your Christmas video and your kids feel for your youngest with cold n cough bless, am so sorry bout your mum it never is easy my boyfriend lost his mum in 2013 my boyfriend was nearly 25 then and I also lost my grandma month before in same year so not a good year in 2015 in May lost my other grandma, I moved down south to be with my boyfriend end if 2015, 2017 in Jan lost my grandad and start of this year in Jan lost my other grandad so year it's devastating loved my grand parents so much I am greatful I had all of them till I was in my 30s tho many grandkids don't even have any grandparents but I'm so close to my parents too and when it's first hand it's awful but I hope you have a better Christmas this year I adore it too as I was born 5 days before Christmas so it's my fave time of year lol always celebrate it my mum doesn't like it much she's a summer baby but she celebrates it for me lol have fun xxx
I lost my gram at Christmas time. She was hit by a car on 12/17 that year and buried in a snowstorm on 12/20. I had nothing bought for my daughter who was 12. So next day, out Christmas shopping, trying to be normal because Gram would have been upset had I not made Christmas special. Love to all.
I wish I got that many presents they are really lucky and for Christmas I usually just get one Christmas present or two last Christmas I only got one they was hair bubbles and sometimes we always give one to the homeless shelter And it is the same on my birthday I only get one or two presents usually just one and sometimes it’s not a good one sometimes it doesn’t fit or it’s broken same on Christmas
The biggest gift that I ever got anybody for Christmas was a LOL surprise big surprise and they're getting hatchimals LOL big surprise and a whole bunch of other gifts
