Ok, maybe my box is not Montessori at all: it is not made of wood, and it doesn’t go in the simplicity/one self-guided task principle that Montessori toys apply… Nonetheless, it offers lots of opportunities for training fine motor skills, cause and effect association, manipulation…
And it might keep being interesting for an older kid, providing a way to see how color combination works (there is an RGB LED with individual switches to control the Red, Green and Blue individual parts) and a miliamperimeter that shows the box’s electricity consumption in real time - and it looks like the console of a Space Ship!

I do for my 5y son with motors and led lights. And dexterity game where he has to run through whire not to touch it. he has to just connect the interesting block of box with (+)wire. Or run even a bit more complex connectivity.(ect light A motorB and flashing light via motor C)

Son, You are frequently surprising with your inventive capacity! It confirms your very young saying that you would become an “inventor “. This cute toy is so much yourself!!! No doubt my grand daughter already love it! Congratulation for your daddy lovely invention, so creative, wise and didactic!

I kinda want to make a box like this but wasn't looking forward to all the drilling ... then I remenbered I have a 3D printer a little 3D modeling skills. I might just be able to model something up and simply 3D print a box. Solder up some wires from switches to LED's etc and voila! Can't wait to get started on my project ;)

You’re a wonderful daddy. There’s no toy better for a child than one made with love. Hang onto to it. She may outgrow this but, she’ll have it around for her children and to see, daddy makes toys with love.

This is fantastic! I'd been looking for something with lots of switches and buttons for my switch- and button-obsessed nephew for his 2nd birthday. There are some lovely options ready made online but nothing compares to the variety you managed to incorporate into your own project. You're a wonderful dad to have made something so special and inspired for your daughter.

Loved your project. Glad to see it got some good use. I started making one of these sort of busy boards for my son, but the part I did not realize was how fast he would out grow it. In fact he out grew it before it was complete. You have to move fast as kids grow fast.

Real hard work! As I'm an Electronics Engineering student currently in 3rd year, I too keep making stuffs with similar hardwares (not with so much of efforts and hard work), but I really respect your hard work for your kid, you must be loving your baby a lot! Love from India!
