- Some of you may remember my '65 Impala. I finally pulled her out of the rhubarb, and I'm about to give her the drivetrain that she deserves. But first, it needs to be rebuilt...

I seen it in the yard a few weeks back when I was in Alberta and not knowingly passed the the tire roasters garage and that caught my eye .

I missed out on a 65 SS a few years ago that was selling for $10,000. It was a solid car with minimal body work and wore most of it's original paint with the exception of a few places that had a bit of body work done, and was quite thin in other places from being weathered along the car's shape lines. It also came with 2 sets of chrome and 2 sets of taillights. That was a huge mistake dragging my feet on that one The 65 SS is my ultimate dream car.

It's nearly impossible to get a good cam broken in for a big block chevy. If that cam n lifter set is good? Keep it. Those are small port truxk heads? You might snag a set of old closed chamber heads for if you can or hang an external lung on that pig? A street blower is great but spendy. You could build a turbo setup? Flip a set a manifolds around? Plenty room in the Impala? You could re use the piston rings? Take them clean the lands and open the up for boost. 17 head bolts will hold some boost.
Headers? Use Stage 8 locking fasteners & Remflex gaskets...never had a blow out!
