OK finally. I have been waiting for that comment. The story behind the picture. BJ (his name) had run off on what we think was a coyote or bob cat. No one saw a deer and the dogs that went with him never had run a deer. Well it took a week of praying that someone would call and also riding all the back roads looking for him before someone finally called. He hurt his foot somehow in the adventure. When I took this picture the crew had taken the other dogs on our weekly hunt and I had to stay behind because of work. When I went down to the pen to check on him this was the greeting I got. He was not happy that he was left behind to heal that foot. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I cant see how those dogs are fast.. They are beagles... We hunt with beagles also in finland if we want a slow dog for rabbit hunting. If u wanna see fast dogs for rabbit hunting u should check out finnish hound
Thanks for watching!. What I see as slow beagles, that are running the track, tend to move at a walking pace as they bark on every piece of the track the rabbit lays down. That's what I love about the sport all dogs are different and to have a good pack you need to have dogs that pack and run the same speed.
deadIdickey Where at?? I just moved to NC and have been looking for a place to hunt. I live in an apartment complex so it's not like I have any land lol
eastern NC. We mostly hunt on private land after deer season has ended. If you wait till after deer season most hunt clubs don't object. If you have your own dogs that gets you in easier with the hunt clubs. Good Luck
not to good but as the ole man on the video say's "its hard to run a dead rabbit" Really that's what its about is working the dogs. We have a lot of young teenagers hunt with us and we would rather they get a chance to kill the rabbit. I just carry the camera most of the time
Thanks for watching Brad. We have had dogs that could smell them in the bed and snatch them when they go by. Don't like it because we love to run the dogs not kill rabbits.
Everyone of my beagles has caught at least one rabbit in the field. My Bandit dog would bring me at least one every year and he was slow but very thorough. I was always hunting on snow though.
True the cover is thick but that's where we find the most rabbits. We usually have 5 or more hunters so killing the rabbit is not a problem. It might take a hour or so but we only use small gauge guns. No 12 gauge allowed for safety of the dogs and hunters. I like a challenging chase and the faster dogs cause the rabbit to make more mistakes. Thanks for your comments and for watching!!
I have hunted with some that were faster and it was crazy. They would over run the Rabbit a lot. But I hear ya and Thanks for watching and the comment!
@@deadIdickey I have a fast one named Blue Zoomer in Central VA. He's the best jump dog but will over run that path quick lol but he gets back on it. He has won a bunch of field trials in Va. Do you guys have speed and drive trials in NC?
never been to any trials. I would love to go just to watch. I know they are not much on fast dogs from what I hear they want a dog to run true to the track. Hey thanks for the comment and for watching
That's one fine pack of beagles! No better sound in the world!
Hey Dusty thanks for the comment & watching!!
thanks it's about time someone put fast beagles on here
Thank You Gary. We love the excitement of the fast dogs. Most of these dogs are 50% Branko stock and they roll.
My uncle had 2 male beagles. He called them both Pete. Only had to yell once and the both came back if they weren't working right.
good looking dog love to see a good pack of dogs
Thanks for watching Clydefino1
Them damn bluetails are slick. We got them things in south eastern va
They can be a pain to run. Thanks for watching!
Good job guys
Thanks for watching!
The thumbnail is the most serious looking beagle I've ever seen.....

will they eat him,After they catch him?
William Murphy All dogs are different. These dogs won't but we have had dogs in the past that would so we try and get to the dead rabbit asap.
Rabbit hunting is great. They'll never catch it, though; you gotta shoot 'em.
Thanks for watching Dan. That's easier said than done. Most of us use 410 gauge so it is a challenge sometimes.
My blue tick will catch one in a heartbeat

Nice dogs but the cover is to thick to be effective to hunt. Rabbit can run all day and never get shot.

who ever heard of cover too thick for rabbit hunting where do u think they live?
That's not what we call fast up north. Those are medium. Not saying those aren't good dog's. Just not what I call fast.
