  • www.getBJJsponsorship.com - Upgrade your passion from a pastime to a profession. || Royler Gracie needs little introduction. The son of Gracie jiu-jitsu co-founder Helio Gracie Royler has always been an avid competitor, winning the World Championships, PanAmericans and the prestigious ADCC World Submission Wrestling Championships. Along with his brother Rolker, Royler now heads the Gracie Humaita association, one of the most respected and trophied competition teams in the world.
    In this video, Royler shares his thoughts and feelings about the importance of competition and describes how his father Helio Gracie helped foster the competitive spirit in his sons. He also explains how his goals in jiu-jitsu have changed with age and how jiu-jitsu continues to improve and affect his life after 47 years in the game.

    Intriguing. There's gonna be a tournament here next Saturday, and this video appears on my 'recommended for you'. You guys think I should compete? I'm still a white belt.

      Actually, Rener looks a LOT like Helio did when Helio was a young man. The resemblance is just crazy.

    there is a karate style in japan that has only 2 belts, white and black, you either are or you are not, that makes much more sense..!

    • @killersalmon4359
      @killersalmon4359 6 років тому

      Traditionally, the only belts were white and black; it's called the kyu-dan system; kyu ranks just wore white belts (but there were originally six grades of kyu ranks), while dan ranks wore black belts. The whole colored belt system started when a karate school in the US ordered white belts, got a whole bunch of colors, and got the bright idea of assigning a different color to each kyu rank. There are still really traditional schools that stick to the white/black belts but you have to realize that among the white belts, there are six to however many grades of white belt.

    I had the opportunity to be instructed by this great teacher once here in San Diego...this video gives some indication of the incredible positive energy emanating from Master Royler Gracie...just such an awesome person, as his father before him--truly embodies the essential humble spirit of the expert martial artist

      Pick up a friend and drill off of basic videos. You could even join or start a college club for martial arts. Judo and Wrestling clubs are more affordable. So just keep active any way you can and best of luck.

Always thought he was the complete opposite for some reason 😅😭
