The Prophet’s ﷺ companions didn’t change their name after converting. They were pagans. In rare cases they changed their name when their name went against Islamic Creed or was an indecent name like “Crazy”.

Ok u can live in ur fools paradise.
I am from the muslim world, I know many of my muslim friends who have faced lot of difficulties from THEIR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS, when they decided to leave the religion .

@@PK-tt5kk you're talking about the minority of a vast Muslim community. Religion is about yourself. In most of the cases it's nothing more than just one's own raidical or extreme nature. You can't blame a faith for someone's action. You better educate your self, mr so called genius. Though i can imagine your circle is full of people who don't know anything about islam otherwise they won't be acting like dumbs. So my advice is think before speak.

Why would you change your name?
This is such a silly, ignorant and irrelevant question.
One or Two of prophet Muhammad wives were Jewish and they NEVER EVER changed their names (Safiyah and another one). Some scholars they say only Safiyah, others mentioned another one.
You are who you are. Don't change it.

On the question of equality, I appreciate your answer and I believe what you’re trying to say is that Men and Women are not necessarily equal however, there has to be عدل or justice in dealing with them and that is what Islam guarantees

    • @PK-tt5kk
      @PK-tt5kk 2 роки тому

she gets the equality thing totally wrong.
Ofcourse men & women have differences but as a society we give them both equality & its the individuals choice to see where they fit.
In Islam the society is asked to put restrictions.
Islams view is that every man is just looking at women sexually. It is just so wrong. When I am in a gym or a restaurant or even a beach. I am not looking around at woman sexually at all.
Infact its quite opposite, Children grown up in an environment where woman are quite open to show themselves are very comfortable in spaces where woman are.
On the other hand I have Muslim friends who are so Awkward around woman, its drilled in their heads that the only thing a man can think of is sex.

In Malaysia we use Arabic, Sanskrit and local Malay names (some even use European names lol) so it's not problem whatsoever to retain your Jewish name as you are ethnically Jewish. Islam is not an ethnic religion, it is an international religion and people adopting Arabic names are usually because of trends rather than for religious purposes.

Assalamu alaikoum sister. You don't need to change your name. I chose the name Dalal bc it is close to my name. I never use it. As you said, "everyone knows me by my name, I don't want to change it."

Salamun aleykum sister, there is something called Muslim names but it does not need to be Arabic as you mentioned. A Muslim name is name that has good meaning, like the opposite is Vahsh R.A where the name means wild, or Kalb means dog etc msy Allah unite you with your husband.

03:25 you don't have to change your name unless your initial has a negative meaning..
like in my country people used to name their child with spirit/devil name (animism is really strong in the place where I was born) , if this happen to you then you can change your name but only your first name
since you're jewish origin, then it's easy to explain the importance of NASAB..we are not allowed to change our father's name ..its a big Sin, and I believe Jewish people also not allowed to change their father's name...in Arabic, its called nasab, I'm not sure what its called in Judaism
