This year I spent some time in Vietnam and Cambodia in the lead up to Christmas and it was a great joy to see these non- Christian countries celebrating the birth of Christ.
I'm glad you're talking about this topic I'm a driver and I encountered people every day and it become kind a confusion topic on the latest day because someone decide not say marry Christmas any more just happy holidays I told the customers marry Christmas some answers me back the same others said happy Holidays this the day Jesus came to us thats it
I think it would be great to move Christmas to a Sunday like what the Church had done with Corpus Christi, Ascension of Christ, Epiphany of Christ. This would essentially separate the secular holiday from the religious holiday of Chistmas. The only Solemnities as Holy days of obligation if they land on or between Tuesday-Friday are Solemnities to the Blessed Virgin Mary and All Saints Day.
Dear Jackie and Bobby, you guys are awesome! That was a great video and a beautiful message. I wish you a merry Christmas and all the best! Greetings from Croatia, all the way across the Pond. :-)
I would put my Christmas tree but we are going out of town for this Christmas to Virginia to see my mom's sister and spend Christmas for 10 days out there
I love Christmas and am always irritated by the way that the secular world wants you to stop celebrating Christmas immediately after the 26th Dec. The music on the radio & in shops reverts to regular stuff & you don't hear Christmas hymns / carols anymore. No Christmas - related films or programmes etc That sudden switch back to every day life I find a little painful & a little annoying. Even churches seem quick to revert to normal. It leaves me feeling as if the world wants to deny that Christmas has happened at all. Denial of Jesus Christ & His phenomenal specialness. Ps you have a lot of neighbours that keep their lights up all year? Wow, my kind of people! when I see Christmas lights it makes me think of Joy and Hope ( Jesus gives us this) and that always makes me smile, always,.
@@charlese2833 I play them right up to mid - or even end of January. I take my decs down very late. Somehow, the atmosphere vibrates with hopeful energy & I try & keep that with me for as long as possible. In UK we have a classic fm radio station ( the only one actually) & last year sometime between 26th dec & New Year someone emailed in to ask what's happened to all the Christmas music? The reply read out on the radio was for them to go to their automated Christmas playlist channel - no presenters, no interaction, no requests, just a playlist on a loop. Satan can't stand us enjoying Christmas & these idiots in radio & TV prefer satan to Jesus.
Sorry you are pained and annoyed at the switch away from Christmas, but really Christians are not to dwell on this one event in Jesus life. His ministry is much more than his birth. And while the colors, lights, music and celebrations are addicitve, we do need to get back to "normal". If you want to celebrate and worship Christ all year round, you can serve the less fortunate every month, share the Gospel every month, read the Bible with your kids every month and not just advent stuff, say hello to relatives far away every month, etc. Jesus left his church here to work and glorify him until he returns. Maybe it feels weird when Christmas time ends because we don't worship Him enough the other months of the year.
@@visualpun650 You're absolutely right. But it makes me smile whatever. Sometimes smiling is difficult. The lights & tinsel & music ( carols) are special going back to earliest childhood memories. I associate it with a certain innocence & that's bound up in forgiveness, joy & hope especially with age, in a way that's more special than at other times. So although we can access those emotions all year round, it is not in such a celebratory way. Goodwill is often hard to find ! And at this time one can push a little harder to give it and receive it, as it's in people's minds to do so. Although the resurrection is the real miracle, the ultimate for mankind, there's something gently very "open" in a spiritual way at Christmas. The secular razzmatazz to me is a reminder rather than a distraction . Even the pagan secular world cannot forget his birth : it's superimposed on all of the secular celebrations & not vice versa. The hymns and carols have a particularly special place in my heart & I can't explain why. So when the secular world flicks off a switch somewhere, somewhen , I can't help but mind the intrusion! I'm still listening to things that have meaning to me & many others. The Eastern Orthodox Church celebrate Christmas on 6th Jan, so in my ideal world we would have 2x Christmases! ( sometimes family is split into 2 by divorce or death & remarriage etc & I like to think celebrating 2x would help everyone see both families at Christmas . No arguments over who sees who !! ) But as you say, we should keep Christmas every day in our hearts and our Christian ways & habits. Merry Christmas 😇
Hi, belated Merry Christmas to you both wonderful couple with your beautiful kids. I am from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 and growing up as a Catholic I believed that Dec 25th was the day our Saviour Jesus Christ was born which we attended Church celebrations every year. Recently I saw on facebook and youtube that many people were against that date Dec 25th. They said it wasnt written in the Bible and it was a pagans day of worshipping the birth of a pagan god. Some say its a false pagan doctrine from the Catholic Church, and they said its not the right day (Dec 25th) Jesus was born. Is it some kind of misleading and misunderstanding information I'm getting? I'm totally confused and lost out here and I need some help from you both. I love watching your videos it helps alot. The peace and blessing of the Lord be upon you all. Thankyou so much in advance and cant wait to see you twos on your next videos.💖

Hi. Can you type here the book that you usually read? Was it Scott Hunt, Joy to the World? I 'm from Argentina. If you type it out here, I'll try to get a hold of it. Thank you. God bless
So the day is to celebrate his birth. Not his birthday. But that he was actually born or to be born. The Christians actually celebrated Christmas as a day to worship the coming of Christ. As a Catholic Entrepreneur, I actually don’t agree with the traditions of the new age Christmas. We should be Samaritans during that day but especially that season. It’s not about gifts because that’ll become selfless. We should give more than the talents we were born with. Maybe we as Catholics should try to fulfill our holy orders?
The true Catholic Church ended in 350AD Roman paganism swallowed it up Choose any dogma you have today and See if it is prevalent within pre Nicea church fathers .i find nothing
If we really want to be countercultural AND Catholic/Christian, we could give NO gifts on Dec 25th but reserve that day for celebrating Jesus and what He did for us and then instead give our gifts on Epiphany (as is done in many countries) as the Wise men did. It's a radical idea I know but it would definitely clearly distinguish us from the world and the way it celebrates and show the world that this season is NOT about the gifts but about Jesus and what He did for/gave us. As an aside, things go on sale after Christmas so you can even save money as an added benefit by buying gifts AFTER the 25th! I know it sounds crazy but it would certainly turn the tide if everyone started doing this...start a Catholic Christmas revolution!!

I have said many times that we wouldn't have let this happen if we were still religious - but that is also the single good thing that could come out of MORE "belief" and LESS facts!
“Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
