As you well know, it is not uncommon to have 3 generations in an asian, and many other cultures, household. You made a wise decision to take the stress off finding a place while connecting with your nice folks. Was wondering when you were going to post again, nice to see you two!
It’s becoming common all over the world and honestly there’s not an issue with it as long as everyone can respect each others boundaries/quirks and sacrifice where needed.
I told my two kids that they never have to leave if they don’t want to (they will need to chip in with bills/groceries/just daily stuff a family needs if they aren’t in school and working full time regarding the bills specifically) and as long as the person they are with can do what I stated above, so be it.
You save money too, so not too bad if you think about it, haha.
@@CDBIIIit’s becoming common coz there’s no choice but to. Stop acting like it’s normal in today’s modern world. It’s not a good look.
@@mato_fato_ma-ah-fala-falafel Like I care what’s a good look for you, lmao.
Preface: I was never even coming close to arguing that due to the economy being crap, we get this thing where families stick together out of it so it’s all worth it; so I’m not even sure how you got that from what I said... Yes, in a perfect world we could all have nice houses for each of us without the worry of money. That part of life is BS. Even then though I would advocate that families stick together. Just in a larger home, lol. More privacy when needed is a good thing.
What I said was absolutely correct regardless if it’s due to the economy. It IS BETTER to live with your (generally immediate family), by every single metric IF you have a good relationship with them (which everyone involved should be trying to achieve!)
The trick like I already said is that people still need their space/private time to recoup/reenergize since just being around people can drain you often times.
If you can’t get that in line then obviously you shouldn’t be living together though. Otherwise, living with family is always infinitely better.
There’s plenty of real world examples to back that up as well. The most obvious benefit is had for children. They get PLENTY of Social/Intellectual/Mental/Physical(Hugs and stuff don’t be weird) stimulation from learning/playing/interacting with those they can trust first and foremost. Bonus: The parents win because they have babysitters to get a break from the kiddos, lol.
That’s just ONE major example I gave you… so yes, yes… It SHOULD BE NORMALIZED. You saying it shouldn’t isn’t a good look on you frankly; but I couldn’t care less if you take that to heart as long as you have it stated to you I’m good in the end!
this is why it's good to have a healthy relationship with your family. Getting older makes me realize how tough life is and having family to support you to recharge is a luxury overlooked.
27 too have to start paying rent just because both are real estate agents
Patricia visiting her mum was very touching. seeing young people's pictures on the stone always made me sad..... thank you for sharing this private moment....
Wonder if their parents more free thinking or walk behind Xi Jinping and Mao Zedong and hate Japanese people ? What u think? Because you are NOT allowed to think free in China.
Your musical choices for this video tell me that you got SOUL. Great job, man.
This video had a lot of heart.
Source anybody?

Thank you and Patricia for sharing a small part of your stories with us. You are a very talented story teller. Your videos are very heart warming, and I appreciate them very much.
I am an old guy, but have loved watching your guys story. Its so cute and fun to watch you grow from friends to this. I was always hoping it would happen early on. Nothing but the best wishes for you guys. Good luck to you
As a young adult who strives to be independent myself, I find that I also have a hard time moving backwards. I wanted to start college but family issues came up so I had to live with my grandmother for a few months, which postponed my career. I'm glad it happened though, because I got to reconnect with my grandmother and get to know her much more. It's nice to see others that place importance and really recognize how special family is too
Thank you for sharing, I am glad that you recognized that reconnecting with your grandmother was a positive thing, even if you had to postpone your career. These are unexpected opportunities that we have once in a while in our life, and it's better to grasp them because they will never come back. College is college, you can always start whenever you want.
I'm pleased to read about your relationship with your Grandmother. I call mine a Saint even if I'm not in an Italian movie.
Don't like when my own mother shouts at my grandmother her own mum just because it's my problem now I have to pay the, back
I'm so happy you were able to reframe an experience traditionally considered "negative" into an opportunity for recharging! Everyone thinks life and growth is linear, but it's never that simple! So happy you're doing well! Take all the time you need :)
Don't feel bad that you moved back with your parents. When my wife and I got married we lived with my parents for 2 years so that we could save up for our own place , we tried to help out around the house like cleaning and cooking and helping with groceries and utilities . That really helped us alot living with them and we became really close to them. When our kids grow up I will give them the same experience my parents gave us. Family is golden never forget that ! You and Patricia will do fine as long as you have a loving family to look after you !! Peace!!!
It really means nothing coming from me specifically, but you’re one of the best channels out there these days, Shun!
I really like these kinds of channel, where they don't upload regularly, but when they do, the quality is through the roof. Keep up the good work!!
Same! I want once a month for my own personal interest but the weekly or even biweekly videos often feel rushed and ‘raw’. This was an exceptional story with great editing and amazing choice of music
I love watching you and Patricia going on adventures together! Here’s to the next chapter!
Your videos are always a joy to watch. Good luck on the new chapter of your journey.
I haven't gotten any of your videos recommended on my feed. This one finally came up and i forgot how much I loved SHUNchan videos!
Great vid!! The storytelling is fantastic
The theme, the music, the editing and the soul. Love watching your videos.
The background music selection is so good. 👏 Oh and you two are the sweetest couple. 🥰
You guys are so cute together, I always get excited when either of you post content!
Your channel is one of my favorites. So happy for you and Patricia. You can feel the love between you two! 😊
love your vibe, Shun. your videos give me a really approachable and genuine feeling while also being exciting. keep up the good work!🥳
What a wholesome video. Uplifting to watch.
I really liked this video! I could feel it came from the heart and it was very sweet, reminded me of the importance of apreciating parents. Also it was very beautifully made! Congrats!
Love this! So happy for you both and excited to see what other adventures you have coming 😊
My husband and I did this a few years ago while we were trying to find a house and moved around between our parents and my grandparents for a year. It was really nice being able to spend that extra time with family before settling into our own place again.
I love your storytelling style Shun! Your videos are always so special and touching. They're almost like little documentaries. Hope you are enjoying your new apartment
Thank you, Shun!!
This was a fantastic video. It was really nice to learn more about Patricia.
I'm always looking forward to the next video.
Love you, Shun!!
Shun, this is a great video and story! Everything happens for a reason so embrace it and enjoy the time with your family. I watch both you and Patricia’s videos all the time. Keep them coming….
Loved this! I found Patricia through you, and now I follow both your journeys, so I loved this kind of collaboration. Thank you so much for sharing 😊
Spot on BGM! great storytelling. I love watching your vids. Keep it up!
So proud of you Shun 🥰 the best wealth/success you can have in life is rich relationships with your loved ones and friends. Also, you've gotten seriously good at video production - this was so artistic! Would love to see more about your adventures in Taiwan if you've got footage 😊
One of your best videos Shun chan, this video was so heartwarming. I wish you and Patricia all the best
As always, such wholesome content bro. Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering what happened to Shun and then this popped up! So glad to see you and your girl back!
My favorite Japanese youtuber!!!!!!! Enjoy the fam time with your parents Shun!
Man… your videos always hit hard for me. Though our experiences are a bit different and where we are at in our lives is different. My wife and I are living with our family as we continue to try and get settled in Japan. Please keep making awesome content and I’m cheering for you and Patricia. Wherever your life takes you I wish all the best for you.
Great video !
It's good to spend time with family more, and we are so lucky to have you two in our family in Taiwan!!
I think this was my favorite video so far! I love seeing all the adventures you two share and I loved the introduction of your families! I hope one day you’ll consider visiting us in Spring Hill, TN! I miss you cousin Patricia! Give your dad a hug for me!❤️
Such a lovely couple! I like that you’re learning Chinese to get even closer to your partner and her family too ❤.
Such a nice vlog, i kept looking at the timeline hoping i still have much to watch... We missed you buddy it has been a month, and your content is always appealing, soothing and recomforting, shout out to the genuine people and yes embrace the moment and be both happy, you'll never regret it ❤ Cheers
Shun, thank you for sharing you and Patricia’s story. It is very special, touching and
heart warming. Wish you both the very best in life 😊❤ from Canada.
Xi Jinping not approve. Must keep HAN Chinese PURE.
Your videos are really fun to watch and your editing is so good!
What a wholesome video. Keep it up!
You guys are the best!! I hope you stay together forever! Also, your parents are so cool for letting you live together in their house. Life is great!! 👍👏🤗
I like your attitude. It makes a big difference.
I'm new here and can I just say that finding this channel was the highlight of my day! You are an incredibly skilled UA-camr!! So happy I found you! It's really refreshing to see a Japanese being more outgoing and "different"... Not in a bad way obviously!
You guys are so awesome!
I’ve seen this video a million times and it still warms my heart everytime :) sooo what’s our next adventure ? 👀
You two getting married!!
Good luck Shun, you got this!
OMG rooting for you two!! Great video I cant wait to see more!
This is something like... "taking one step backwards and two steps forward"
And still there is progress made!!!
Keep moving forward
Great video! Thanks!
this is such a lovely cozy video 🤩
love this! so true! time with family is always a win!
I haven't been able to watch the full video yet, but don't sweat it dude. I'm almost 30 and still stuck at home, but it's because my parents need my support.
It's not like it was 40 or 50 years ago when you could raise a family on one income. People need to do whatever works for them so that they can try to get a solid foundation under their feet.
I recently heard that your 30's are the new 20's and I'm hoping for everyone's sakes that it's true 😂
If you need to move back in with family for a bit don't sweat it 👍
bro is a legend for studying abroad in tw and not gaining hella weight... i spent a year in taipei during a high school exchange and absolutely ballooned lmao
on another note moving back home can be humbling, but reconnecting with your roots can be super eyeopening too. I hated the tiny, boring town I grew up in and have loved living the city life since i graduated high school. last summer, my mom passed away suddenly so i had to pack my bags and move home to help my dad recover while he battled cancer. through one of the toughest times in my life i saw how our community rallied around my family and took care of my dad and me in any way they could. I still intend to move out once my dad fully recovers, but i'll always be grateful and call this place home, when before I only saw it as the place I grew up.
Wow, great videos guys….. always enjoy these and am pleasantly surprised when they appear. 💛 from 🇨🇦
This was a wonderfully refreshing and uplifting video!
Totally not a step backwards especially when you have a wonderful person next to you keeping to support each other. Good vid and welcome back to the grind.
Great video, Shun
Great video! This is actually the first time seeing Patricia and she kinda looks like my cousins when they were younger. Congrats on getting back to Japan and spending time with your family and as you say, recharging! Ganbatte kudasai!
You know it's a good day when shun posts a video
Great video! Hope to see some of your journey in Taipei!
You have come so far with your filmmaking skills. This video was great, keep up the good work.
Shun-chan's videos are rarely ever boring, nice of you to focus on quality over quantity! Hope you make lots of money and still keep true to your style Shun
Awesome story and glad to see you all are still together. The generation today just want to move out of their parents house as soon as possible. But you are mature enough and adventured in your life moving back home gives the opportunity to take care of your parents and be around family and that's a great and beautiful thing. Aloha from Kansas
Great to hear from you, I wondered where you got to, after watching your videos decided to book an Easter trip to Japan.
Amazing video and messages as always
Gotta love watching your videos and your journey
Excellent editing and music choice. It's been so heartwarming to see you change and grow ever since your Bill Wurtz reaction. We love and appreciate all you do Shun
OMG! That’s how I found shun!! It was his reaction video to Bill Wurtz video! And then I checked a few of his videos and loved the idea of seeing what it’s like living in Japan!
This video is easily a 14/10. Great editing, mixture of montages, but also energy throughout. The story flowed well.
Your family seems loving and you look very happy with your partner. Thank for sharing this intimate part of your life.
its a cover wow, just love this kind of videos good luck hunting for place in the future
Lovely video and very touching. The youtube algorithm might not reward this type of thing as much as some of your other content but I think this is absolutely beautiful and it's definitely a stand-out video of yours.
It’s the best video he’s done and it’s among the best I’ve seen of anyone with under 1 million subscribers. The editing and music choice were great but it all comes together with the beautiful story telling
It's just another positive move in your life as a couple! Good luck the great memories you will make!
That 踊り子 cover is incredible. Added to playlist. 🙌
The editing is so good in your videos!
bro your videos are simply the most inspiring I've ever seen, the softly way you bring such important life thoughts and decisions supported by a heck of editing and visual production skills, it's amazing. Hope I can create content like that someday too
Happy for you bud. Been a random since I've watched your stuff and glad to see you done got a good gal! Stay awesome, and hope all goes well in your ventures.
Actually got me a gal as well and she fed me pigeon to lol. Them little guys are pretty good! Chewy.
AUch and heartwarming video :D thanks for sharing!
Tall storage like that is usually called a cabinet, if it had wood doors on the top, probably a hutch - but with glass, it's probably a china cabinet (for holding fancy plates/crystal for display).
Good luck on the home hunt!
In England we call that "a dresser". Its the cupboard you keep your plates, ornaments, special tea pot and cups etc. Often they were moved to bedrooms too. If the top part of the cabinet can be removed we call the bottom half on its own "a side board". I believe the term "dresser" came from "dressing the table" when you set out the table for dinner.
That could be considered a "curio".
My mom calls them 'hutch' (old fashioned way of saying it) but we also call them 'curio cabinet' or 'cupboard' or 'sideboard'.
we call them a china cabinet. since we store fine china in them for display.
@@thezist3353do they still call them China cabinets? I feel people have used the term “China” for the fancy plates a lot less recently than they did 20+ years ago.
This was a super well made video
Happy for both of you!
Great to see new content from you. Missed your channel. Hope you are doing well.
Literally I watch these for you guys chemistry. ❤
I'm glad that you can see how important it is family for different cultures, it's nice
Family rules, enjoy it as much as possible, great video Shun and Patricia
Thank you for explaining Patricia’s background. Yes, I was curious . Maybe you can do a video explaining how you met. I enjoyed this one a lot!👍🏼
finally, Some Shun content. been too long brother
You and Patricia are an awesome couple. I wish you two many happy years together and great things in the road ahead.
Yk its a good day when Shun uploads
Agreed ❤
Fricken AWESOME Video!! 😁👍
Oh so nice to see you again and with Patricia ❤ You made a good decision. 🙏
Damn, Shun, your video was tearful and beautiful. I'm so glad to see you and Patricia's life, that of your parents, the cooking and hear your philosophy about the move. I see that from the shins down now you are Michael Jackson.
You are where you're meant to be, always. Enjoy the time back home while it lasts - new adventures await 😁
the transition from a young Pat to the current one at 8:20 was beautifully done!
Thank you for sharing. It's beautiful. And I'm jealous!
That was a very wholesome video. Don't feel bad about moving back with your parents. It's no big deal really to move there for a few months or years as a stepping stone for your next place. That's what family is for, maybe one day it'll be your turn to welcome a family member in your home when they'll need it too. Independence is a good value to have, but it's also easy to forget that no one breezes through life without receiving any help from anyone ever.
I don’t know if someone mentioned it already but I love your Bigbang album collection🤩. That aside I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and life!
Oh my god, I'm Taiwanese and I've been following your channel for a while now, and it's surreal to see that you two spent three months in Taipei.
Hopefully, there's going to be a video about your stay there :)
P.s. love you and Patricia as individuals, but also as a couple - you two are so cute together ❤
Wow such a wholesome video and makes you think 😢
Wonderful story telling. You guys are too cute.
nice video, guys ! many greetings from Amsterdam, The Netherlands !
Good stuff, take care you two :)
