I would guess yes, as the LPG injectors would be better suited. You would still need to change the ignition timing to suite hydrogen, but I least all the gas lines would already be installed if it was a car already running on LPG

With a diesel engine running on half hydrogen would that lubricate the rings/cylinder walls enough and not lead to premature wear? Would a diesel engine have advantages over a gasoline motor? Thankyou for the encouragement and support. A diesel engine running 50/50 diesel and hydrogen would be a cool idea, not show how it would affect engine knock though. But might help with more complete combustion, worth looking into to
The ignition timing would need to be changed for hydrogen and the gas tank needs to be a hydrogen tank but yes it should run the same, not as efficient though, ideally the car should be turbo or supercharged.
The rotary engine uses a chromium plated cylinder that don't rust however, it requires you to burn oil so it still uses oil and produces emissions. Best fuel to run an RX8 on is a very high octaine mix of ethanol fuel like a 105 octaine e85 however, the UK is so small of a country we can't grow enough wheat or barley to make enough ethanol.
Wow that's awesome. I can see you are using cylinder to store hho gas which is not safe. Why can you work on stan meyers project to get it to work by running high voltage, watts and frequency with low amps??

There is huge issues with a combustion engine and hydrogen. One being that it burns at a different temprature and produces allot of water which can rust valves piston rings etc it also has issues with oil compatability. A purpose built engine running hydrogen can work but to convert a standard petrol.to hydrogen works but not for mainstream.
It's primarily your engine oil that lubricates your cylinder walls In fact one of the rings on the piston is the "oil ring" The bottom ring on tge piston scrapes the excess oil off the cylinder walls. That's why when your rings Wear out you get a lot of smoke out of your exhaust. Gasoline is more of a solvent than a lubricant
100% agree about the oil rings, the ware is occurring on the top compression ring, along with the extra heat, needs water injection for cooling really.
Could you show the exact process to install the hose going from the hydrogen tank to the fuel injectors, details? When you press the gas pedal does that open the injectors to allow more hydrogen into the cylinders? When you open the valve on the hydrogen tank do you open it all the way, completely?
Hi, Thankyou for the comment. The gas tank is set to 9 bar output pressure when driving. This is fixed, the duty cycle of the injectors change like with petrol cars to alow for more fuel when needed. At idle only 6 bar is needed. Ideally an electric regulator or something would be used, where at idle it’s set to 6bar, and when driving it automatically increases to 9bar. Hope this helps. I will be uploading some more videos this month showing how I built the car.

I'm thinking if this is installed and one runs out of hydrogen then can easily switch to petrol, it would be an easy sell to customers? I've seen this type of setup when LNG is used, which is essentially hydrogen mixed with a little carbon, and when the user runs out of LNG, he just flips a switch and uses petrol?
Well, after watching your videos and seen that it can be done by a DIYer I'm starting on this project. I'm building a solar hydrogen production unit as well as pump. I'm using a 2.4 liter Toyota truck for project. I'm older have the money and want to do this. Thanks for inspiring me.

Myself and one out of one Bill Nyes aptly agree that an individual competently equipped with the ingenuity and wherewithal requisite to convert a gas vehicle to hydrogen power DIY might also bear the proclivity to get the audio in their UA-cam how-to video correct. Though it behooved me to watch this, it gave me a migraine. Murphy just called to say that Alanis Morissette and Voltaire just called and are upset that you bit their swag. :)-

We Indian also convert petrol and diesel to cng and have same type of cylinder at back all we have to do is fill it with hydrogen instead of cng

yeah a switch would be needed. like you say, this set up is very similar to a LPG car
